Pros: I bought two of these bad boys and recevie/installed them today. I used to have to overclock the heck out of my system to get 9900 on 3dmark06. My first run with these beasts, without anything overclocked was 23000. Not to shabby. I dont even think I will attempt any overclocking, whats the point.
Cons: Not really a con, because we all know these things are BIG and HEAVY.
Overall Review: Installation was a breeze. Just so happened new drivers came out from XFX yesterday, so I used them. I asked XFX if it was okay to open these up and apply some Artic Silver 5, and they said it was fine and wouldn't even void the warrenty, I didn't do it yet, and may not, unless I start to see temps increasing over time. I know alot of companies use cheapo thermal paste, so time will tell.
Pros: I have always bought ASUS motherboards, and after this one will continue to do so. Great board for the money.
Cons: The only issue I had with this board was NB temps. Took the cooler off, cleaned up the garbage paste used by ASUS and applied Artic silver 5, and directed a fan at it, now NB never see's more then 45C
Overall Review: Like I said I have bought probably my last ten or twelve boards from ASUS, and always had good luck, this just continues the trend. The feature set on this board is amazing. Can't wait to get my 2 new XFX 6870 BE's to really make this baby hum.
Pros: WOW, I bought this thing at a different vendor after eye balling it on here. Kind of sceptical at first, but the price was right. Boy am I glad I did. Installed this on a ASUS crosshair iv with an application of Artic silver 5 with no problems. The Crosshair already has a back plate that worked perfect. I've got my 965 overclocked to 4.01Ghz and it idles at 29c and I have never seen it get past 38c. Best cooling I have ever used, and I've been build machines for 20 years.
Cons: This was a little tricky to install, but for me I had a new CPU and new motherboard to put this on, so I was starting with everything out of the case already. I managed to do this myself in about 20 minutes.
Overall Review: I reversed the fan so it is pulling outside air and pushing it through the radiator. Didn't even bother trying it the other way. How do you refill it if it needs it?
