LG Ultragear 27GL850-B 27" 2K QHD 2560 x 1440 1ms GTG 144Hz 2 x HDMI DisplayPort USB 3.0 Hub AMD FreeSync NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible HDR 10 Nano IPS Gaming Monitor

Pros: - High response time with very low pixel response time, even on the recommended "Fast" pixel response setting. (Don't use "Faster" setting, as the 1ms is a marketing gimmick which can only be achieved without introducing visual artifacts. See TFTCentral review.) - No measurable ghosting, blur, overshoot, etc. at 144hz with "Fast" response time (recommended setting). - Excellent colour accuracy. - Excellent viewing angles. - Text is very sharp. - Stand has great height options and goes up & down easily. - Very bright, in fact it comes calibrated with brightness around 35%, and I have mine set to 55% and it's perfect. - Each monitor is calibrated before packaging, so most variables in manufacturing will be cancelled out by the calibrations. A calibration report is in the box. - Just the right size for a 1440p display. Pixel density is great, just like on any 1440p 27" panel. - Not a single dead pixel on any of the three units I've personally tested. - G-Sync Compatible (Adaptive Sync); in fact it performs better than a full G-Sync certified panel I tested. (The pixel response and low

Cons: - The backlight is slightly darker in the lower left and right corners, but you can really only notice it if you do a full-screen white test to look for backlight distribution. I've tried 3 of these panels and they all have the same issue. However, I don't notice it during everyday usage or gaming, so I'm happy to live with this very minor imperfection. - Apparently the HDR support isn't great due to the fact that there is no local dimming. But HDR support & standards have a long way to go in general, so I don't expect to use it on this monitor. - Stand has no swivel and as strangely sharp, pointed tips. But I've wall-mounted mine, so it doesn't affect me at all. - Slightly lower contrast ratio than the average IPS panel, but I can still easily tell black from almost black (e.g. RGB(3,3,3)), so I haven't noticed the difference.

Overall Review: After trying a few high-end 27" and 32" gaming monitors, this is the winner for me. The viewing angles and colour accuracy are fantastic, thanks to the IPS panel. Text is super sharp. There is no noticeable blur or ghosting at the "Fast" response time, which is the setting recommended for this panel by TFTCentral. Runs very smoothly with no visible artifacts at 144hz. Slightly lower contrast ratio than the average IPS panel, but the fast response time more than makes up for the minor loss of contrast.

Fast Stable RAM That Looks Good Too

G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GTZR
G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GTZR

Pros: - Very stable at the advertised speed of 3200 MHz - The RBG looks really good, and can be controlled with Asus Aura Sync - Stable, surviving several passes of memtest without any errors detected

Cons: Two minor complaints (not big deals): - The RGB colours are slightly off from the colours in the sticks I have of the same model from last year. When installed side-by-side, you can see slight differences in certain colours. I can live with it. - The RGB housing is not consistently centered from end-to-end. It is perfectly centered on the new sticks I bought this year, but it is off slightly on the sticks I bought last year, and you can see the difference when you look all 4 sticks installed. But, again, I can live with it.

Overall Review: Definitely recommend this RAM if you want an RGB option. Would buy again if I didn't already have 32GB.
