really pleased, no regrets
Pros: Really fast, was simple to re-paste and upgrade from my 8150. I thought the extra thermal output would make my liquid cooling radiator fans run really loud but I haven't noticed anything. So much better than an 8150. Long division runs almost twice as fast at stock speeds as my 8150 overclocked to the base speed of this CPU. Other math operations, easily a 25% gain across the board. Even speeds up my graphics card.
Cons: none.
Overall Review: most important thing with this chip is to use 3rd party liquid cooling with dual radiator fans and to use a very thin thermal paste coating (I recommend a nanodiamond compound, with some in the middle and make sure it gets out towards the four corners because there are pairs of CPU cores in each corner, but not all the way to the edge because the pressure on the CPU squirts the thermal paste out the sides.)
Manage your expectations
Pros: Stylish and reasonably portable RMA process was straightforward Wonderful audio, I would definitely use as a quality headphone. Head tracking features could be useful
Cons: Had to RMA because the first one I received was DOA after charging. Makes eyes hurt Screen is much smaller than they suggest - the claim is that it is like watching a 65" tv, but in reality that 65" tv is across the room and slightly down the hall. Resolution is very low, and no text can be reliably read. The test logo is very sharp though, I couldn't figure that out. Extreme brightness flicker when scenes change. "Projects unto retina" is a little misleading. It projects unto micro-mirrors, which combine to form a movie theater at the end of a short dark corridor, much like sitting 2/3rd of the way up in an actual movie theater. The mirrors reflect light into your retina roughly the same way any other video device would.
Overall Review: My recommendation, until this product substantially improves, is that you buy a light flat screen tv and install a handle on it. It will be easier to lug around and set up, and possibly cheaper depending on your tastes. I really wanted to say this headset was the future, but it's more of a taste of the future.
really a good value for RAM
Pros: very inexpensive, nice design, vast improvement over my previous generation DDR3 chips
Cons: no cons so far
Overall Review: I think most people would enjoy this manufacturer and get as good an experience as mine
very good value and nice styling
Pros: nice looking heatsink design Works well - bests a Radeon 7970 3GB by a substantial margin on most tests can be noticeably quieter occasionally
Cons: very long card, takes up lots of room warm idle temp didn't come with required power cords or video adapters design stickers fall off as card heats up
Overall Review: I like the color of the heatsink apparatus. The card itself is long and also bigger in several other dimensions. It didn't include the cable that converts a normal PCI-Express connector to an 8-Pin AMD GPU power connector. It idles high, but doesn't seem to get as hot as my other card when running full-out. It is a good value - I paid substantially less for this card with 8GB than I originally did for my 7970HD 3GB, but that was a while ago. I was shocked to find that my 7970 did the simplest bank of graphics tests faster than this, and also that the physics performance didn't gain much improvement. But perhaps those tests are CPU dependent. Stickers peel off when the heatsink gets hot as it inevitably will - I think the heatsink looks better without the stickers so I'm not bothered by this and I wonder why they even put the stickers on at all
unspectacular, but good price
Pros: quiet good driver support
Cons: performance not what reviewers estimated it at physical card is long can't reach certain resolutions simply doesn't work as good as a 4-year old graphics card
Overall Review: I have a lot of conflicting thoughts with this because I don't know whether to blame my specific problems on my motherboard, the reference design, or the card manufacturer. The most important thing for me is that it would not allow me to reach non-interlaced 1920x1080. Also, would not allow me to select the common screen resolution 1776x1000 at all. The next closest resolution only ran at 30 hz progressive. It doesn't help that I was replacing a 4-year old 7970 1GHz that already had 3GB of GDDR5. The 4-year old card has no trouble running any resolution I throw at it, but it does struggle with the eye candy sometimes. Well, this card not only refuses to run at the 60p progressive scan I am used to, but also runs about 2/3rd the speed as my old card and dips even lower in heavy cpu usage. The price is right, so I put it in another system that primarily displays 2d graphics and took my old card back. Same manufacturer as my Radeon (Gigabyte) same number of fans (3) but certainly not a performance level worthy of a brand new 2015 offering. For the time being, without any time to do proper testing, I'll blame the GeForce 347.52 driver.
iffy as a primary hard drive
Pros: Initially, very fast. Initial post-install tests rated it faster than a comparable SSD RAID 0 array. Very big when you begin to use the HDD.
Cons: Performance quickly detoriates to sub-HDD speeds as the hard drive ages. (My) drive apparently has little power failures when accessing certain parts of the disk, or repairing the system file structure, and this causes a BSOD. SeaTools cannot detect this issue with the short scan. Reinstalling Windows can help for a while. Apparently lots of users had these issues. First major failure was within 6 months of purchase.
Overall Review: Expensive experiment. I have all the important data sequestered to another location and a backup SSD waiting for when this fails again. Not looking forward to installing the OS from scratch.
very helpful
yes I believe so
Technology was good
I think this experience was better than my average marketplace experience.
Good marketplace experience
Item seems to be everything I expected
