Works great so far in MacBookPro 4,1
Pros: Immediately recognized. Apple Hardware Test and overnight Rember tests successful. No noticeable slowdown.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: I am using this in combination with a G.Skill 2 GB stick for a total of 6 GB of RAM. Though this is more than the 4 GB "official" maximum in this model (aluminum body, 2.5 GHz Core 2), reports elsewhere indicate it works. So far no problems. Needed a bit more RAM to run a Windows VM without affecting performance. For those with this model, reports on the web indicate that the hardware supports 8 GB, but Mac OS X will slow to a crawl, so don't bother trying. However, 6 GB is stable.
Good 3D but got a defective unit
Pros: Good 3D Big screen size compared to most other 3D monitors Brightness
Cons: Picture a bit dark with 3D glasses No USB ports 120Hz not enabled with 2D Blu-ray playback
Overall Review: I got to see Avatar 3D before I returned it and the 3D was pretty good on this screen. I expected the high refresh rate to be enabled with my Panasonic Blu-ray player with 2D movies, but the monitor's on-screen display indicated it was running at the standard 60Hz. Pretty disappointing since most 120Hz TVs give you the high refresh rate with 2D playback as well. I ended up getting a refund because the rear HDMI port did not work, even though I tried with a few different HDMI cables including the one that came with the unit. Also, I found it much cheaper elsewhere online.
Fast and beefy
Pros: Fast reads and writes.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I use it mostly for installing games. Load times are great.
10 cores!
Pros: * It has 10 cores. * It can OC fairly well so you don't have to feel bad about the lower clock compared to a newer Skylake.
Cons: * Expensive but worth it if you want something that will last you a long time. * You will want to watercool it especially if you OC in order to feel comfortable.
Overall Review: It's not clocked as high as some of the newer stuff but with OC it's more than enough for gaming. Plus the sheer number of cores is unbeatable.
Incredible speeds
Pros: * No install issues in my X99A Godlike Gaming Carbon. Detected immediately. * Benchmarks show reads and writes in the 2000MB/s range
Cons: Expensive
Plenty of outputs
Pros: * Plenty of outputs and included cables and adapters for powering components. I am running an X99A Godlike Gaming Carbon, 6950x, and two Titan X Pascals plus drives with room to spare. * Quiet.
Cons: * A bit expensive.
