Decent3/15/2009 1:00:24 PM

Pros: Overclocks to 3.4Ghz on stock voltage. I upgraded from q6600 Overclocked @ 3Ghz. Stays cooler. Definitely increases benchmark scores and such, but real world performance difference still leaves much to be desired, This is because many programs are still not yet designed to take advantage of quad core capabilities, although more are being updated to do so all the time.

Cons: First chip I got had 1 stuck temp sensor, which is quite common among new 45nm chips, but I was not aware of at the time {Nor were many other people, Now its pretty much common knowledge.} so I RMA'd it. My replacement came with 3 stuck temp sensors. Lame! I dont know why some chips only have 1 stuck sensor and others can have up to 3 but Im led to believe this is because of a lack of quality control in Intels factory's.

Overall Review: other than that, Im happy with my upgrade. wish i could have bought it at the price its at now instead of $315 but meh... sensors become unstuck after reaching about 40C or so. but still. I think alot of trouble could have been saved if intel found a way around this by fixing it before releasing the product.

Awesome hard drive1/31/2009 4:44:23 AM

Pros: Noticeably faster than your typical 7200 RPM hard drive, If you want the next step up in performance, This is what you wanna get, especially if you have a Core 2 Quad, or even a Core 2 duo. Your HDD will no longer be the bottleneck of your setup. Plus its got 300 gigs now which makes having a 10,000 rpm hard drive worth having. {sorry to all that bought 74 Gig, and 124 gig raptors <=P }

Cons: Still a little pricey, but with the way SSD's are coming along, {slower than any other evolving product in the cpu industry right now} this is still the better choice for gamers, enthusiasts, and power users.

Overall Review: I really wish the price on these things would go down, so that way I could buy another one, but I still got room on my first so I'll live I guess...heh

So far, So Good9/30/2008 6:26:17 AM

Pros: For the money, This is a rather awesome mobo, BIOS very friendly to work with. and very OC'ing friendly aswell.

Cons: Crossfire ready, But not SLI ready, I also have heard that they are having problems with certain ATI cards. cant remember any details but hopefully those are either fabrications or have been fixed, because this is a crossfire ready board.

Overall Review: Make sure your not trying to go for SLI! works great with single Nvidia cards though. I dont know if I want to use crossfire or just go with 260GTX. but for now runs my 8800GT just fine.

Great cooler for price9/30/2008 6:18:45 AM

Pros: Looks awesome and keeps my quad-core nice and cool, without excessive noise. very quiet.

Cons: Somewhat bigger than I expected it to be, and I was already told that it was BIG. depending on the Mobo may not fit for everyone. I was barely able to get it in my rig because this thing is 140mm, and the heatsink over my northbridge is rather large aswell but I made it fit without any kind modding or grinding down on heatsinks.

Overall Review: I dont know what the estimated lifespan of the average cpu cooler is but I was suprised to see that its MTBF was only 30,000 hours. most likely it will last longer, but still..

great little package9/30/2008 6:05:31 AM

Pros: Building my first rig and using lots of expensive stuff. I needed a "static-treated" tool set that would help me get the job done. This worked great

Cons: None.
