Good Speakers

Creative GigaWorks T20 28 W 2.0 Speaker
Creative GigaWorks T20 28 W 2.0 Speaker

Pros: Exceptional build quality. Clear highs and lows. The front panel input, volume knob, and Bass/Treble controls are very handy. The front input jack does not disable the rear however, which can be nice, so you can leave two devices hooked up at the same time.

Cons: A little pricey. The LED is indeed bright. I cut off a corner of the sticky part of a post-it note, and place it over the led, making it "normal" brightness. I'm not sure how much adjusting the Bass knob affects the speakers, however, with headphones plugged in, it makes a huge difference.

Overall Review: I purchased these because I wanted a relatively compact set of speakers for college that would afford good audio quality for video games and music (classical). As someone who loves highs, these are nice. They sound much warmer than my old set of speakers. If you are obsessed with Bass, these probably aren't for you, if you enjoy all parts of the spectrum, these are an excellent choice.

StarTech.com 35FCREAD20BK 20-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader
StarTech.com 35FCREAD20BK 20-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader

Pros: Can use all sorts of cards

Cons: Doesn't mention that the chipset doesn't support more than 1 Gb of space...

Clean output

ASUS Xonar Essence STX Virtual 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express x1 Interface 124 dB SNR / Headphone AMP Card
ASUS Xonar Essence STX Virtual 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express x1 Interface 124 dB SNR / Headphone AMP Card

Pros: This card puts out an amazingly clean output. I didn't realize how crummy everything I had before was until I started listening to my music on this card and noticed that all of the noise (hissing) was gone. It was one of those things that you don't notice until it's gone. Yes, you can tell the difference between FLACs and MP3's; however the difference is on a file by file basis. Also, as others mentioned, the output on this will go very loud. and Yes, you will notice things you haven't heard before.

Cons: The installation was a bit tricky. I ended up getting it to work installing the software from the CD, then updating the driver from the Website AFTER I had run the CD stuff.

Overall Review: As others mentioned, Speakers/Headphones should come before a soundcard - unless you have speakers/headphones that cost at least as much as this card, don't bother. Overall, you get what you would expect.

Incredible

SAMSUNG 2343BWX High Glossy Black 23" 5ms 16:9 Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 20000:1 (DC) w/ HDCP Support
SAMSUNG 2343BWX High Glossy Black 23" 5ms 16:9 Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 20000:1 (DC) w/ HDCP Support

Pros: Worked without a hitch. Amazing picture. Period. Feels solid. Coming from a 4:3 monitor at 1400x1050, there is no comparison. Especially with Widescreen-supported video games such as Counter-Strike source, the viewable space is much larger, giving a peripheral vision unparalleled.

Cons: The buttons are fancy, integrated into the side of the display, so it is seamless. The only issue I have encountered is trying to find the power button in the dark, because it is not illuminated when the monitor is off, and there is not a physical button/change. Not a big deal though.

Overall Review: The Dynamic contrast interesting. Not sure whether it helps or not yet.

Sennheiser HD201 Over-Ear Headphones
Sennheiser HD201 Over-Ear Headphones

Pros: Very clear sound. The bass does not muddy up the rest of the ranges. Again, flat response, and very comfortable. I heard sounds that I had never heard before.

Cons: Cable is a little thin for my liking.

Overall Review: I listen to classical music. To me, the Bass sounds present and not overpowering. People listening to other genres may feel that the bass is weak, but in my opinion, it is perfect.

Worth just about every penny

Fujitsu LifeBook T2010 (FPCM11124) Intel Core 2 Duo U7500 (1.06GHz) 1GB Memory 12.1" 1280 x 800 Tablet PC Windows Vista Business

Pros: Ultra-low voltage CPU!! Things that others have said about it "it's a work of art" "truly amazing" "sleek". Very light, Amazing battery life, great inking... etc.

Cons: Comes with some bloatwear. It is well worth it to shell out a little extra change and upgrade to 4gb of ram and 250 GB HDD.

Overall Review: Completely worth it
