Good card with large cooler

PowerColor Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card AX7850 2GBD5-DH
PowerColor Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card AX7850 2GBD5-DH

Pros: Working well in a new build. Provides fluid gameplay while remaining quiet and cool in my system.

Cons: BEWARE: The bulge at the bottom of the plastic fan cowl dips a little too low for this card to be installed next to a legacy PCI slot (which are taller than PCIe slots) making it impossible to fully insert if your motherboard has this arrangement.

Overall Review: I have the card installed in a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot at the bottom of my motherboard instead of the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot due to the above issue. It's still running fine and I haven't noticed it to detract much from performance yet. If I get brave and want to take full advantage of my Ivy Bridge's PCIe 3.0 x16 lanes, I think I could safely dremel off a bit of the plastic and the fan would still clear the neighboring PCI slot.

Very nice little gaming system

Pros: Fast and responsive. Handles light gaming smoothly as it is with room to easily upgrade (M.2 drive, another stick of RAM, newer CPU, more powerful graphics card) if desired later. Stays cool and quiet. Great bang for your buck. Inside, the cord management done during assembly was very tidy and impressive leaving a very clean, open main bay in the case.

Cons: You don't know which brand/exact model of PSU, SSD, RAM, graphics card you'll get in your particular system because those aren't specified in the product description or specs. This turned out okay in my case though as they were each as good as or better than I expected. The shape of the Enter key of the Ares M1 keyboard included in mine is a little odd and takes some getting used to.

Overall Review: I hadn't upgraded my graphics card in years. The massively inflated prices due to cryptocurrency mining, tariffs, high demand and low supply meant I almost gave up on finding anything in the range I was looking for. I came across this system on sale and bought it mainly due to the included GTX 1650 and the fact that all the other components seemed sensible and balanced without adding anything I didn't need. I typically built my systems myself in order to save a lot of money and get exactly what I want, but this PC only cost half of what I would have spent if I had bought the parts and OS piecemeal like that. I'm pleasantly surprised how well it is performing and I'm very happy with my purchase. ABS put better quality into this than I expected and I would buy this brand again.

Works as advertised

Transcend AxeRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TX800QLJ-2GK
Transcend AxeRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TX800QLJ-2GK

Pros: Great pair of DIMMs! My ECS P35T-A automatically ran these at their full DDR2 800 dual channel speed CAS 4 @1.8v. I've been gaming and video editing with them in a Windows XP machine since I built it (almost 4 months ago) without a single blue screen or crash! The flashy heatspreaders lend these a nice solid hefty feel.

Cons: none

Overall Review: Watch out when buying other sticks that require greater than 1.8 volts to operate at their rated speeds because not all motherboards can supply the 2.1 or 2.2 Vdimm that those require. You will be safe with this product.

Great performace for price at the time.

VisionTek Radeon HD 3870 512MB GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 900202
VisionTek Radeon HD 3870 512MB GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 900202

Pros: Worked from day one in a new P35 Core 2 system at stock. A trouble-free install! I like that it vents the heat out the back of the case. Runs games I play fantastically (rarely if ever dipping under 60fps) at 1680x1050 at high detail settings. Red Orchestra Ostfront, Unreal Tournament 2004, Bioshock demo, Far Cry. Tried demos for F.E.A.R., UT3, COH and COD4 which ran fine on this. It provides a very fluid Crysis demo experience though the quality settings on that title need to be turned down a bit for this card to maintain 60fps. I'm happy with this quiet card.

Cons: Let's the GPU run hotter than I would prefer to make the chip last. It's only ~50C at 2D/idle but under a 3D load it goes up to ~85C. I only hear the card's fan at startup and I wish it would spin up more at load to keep the temps lower for longevity.

Overall Review: Despite my personal preference for more fan noise to reduce card temperature, I've never experienced any issues such as stuttering or artifacting with this card in my system. I bought this from Newegg in late November of 2007. I've been very happy with them so far. System: P35 / Antec Earthwatts 430 / E6750 / 2GB DDR2-6400 CAS4 RAM / this HD 3870 all at stock speeds and voltages running Windows XP 32 bit.
