So fast!

Intel Core i5-3330 - Core i5 3rd Gen Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.0GHz (3.2GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 Intel HD Graphics 2500 Desktop Processor - BX80637i53330
Intel Core i5-3330 - Core i5 3rd Gen Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.0GHz (3.2GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 Intel HD Graphics 2500 Desktop Processor - BX80637i53330

Pros: Simple easy installation without any problems. Runs cool out of the box.

Cons: It's a little expensive for my budget. The combo deals could have been more robust to make the purchase easier on my wallet.

Overall Review: Finally finished building my aunt's new rig. 3Ghz Ivybridge Core i5, Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe, Crucial 16 GB Ram kit, 620W PSU, nMediaPC LCD Panel(so pretty), twin OCZ 240GB SSD's, and its all in a LIAN LI PC-Q08R. It takes like 3 seconds to restart. SO JEALOUS.

Headache

Intel BOXDH57JG LGA 1156 Intel H57 HDMI Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
Intel BOXDH57JG LGA 1156 Intel H57 HDMI Mini ITX Intel Motherboard

Pros: For the price this is a good little board to throw in an HTPC build.

Cons: Runs with memory rated at 1.50v @ 1066MHz so be sure to get compatible memory or memory that can be clocked down to this voltage and speed if you are using a core i3 processor. I am currently trying to resolve an issue where the BIOS stalls during a cold boot(where the system hasn't been powered on for some time i.e. over night). I've reproduced the event by powering off the system unplugging the PSU and holding the power button down till the system drains the power. In this case it reproduces the event infrequently. I have successfully/cleanly updated the BIOS to the latest version as of the day this is posted. Intel customer service is unavailable on the weekends so I can't do anything till the week starts.

Nightmare

GIGABYTE GA-H55N-USB3 LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-H55N-USB3 LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard

Pros: N/A

Cons: I did an install using this board and ran into memory dump issues. I checked the memory, hard disk drives, and even the optical drives using various testing methods which were all passed without incident. I made sure that the BIOS was updated and all drivers were up to date. I even ran the BIOS in its safety mode. I never attempted to overclock any of the components and ran everything at stock. I've no choice but to conclude that the motherboard was at fault.

Overall Review: I'll be scrapping my build and returning the components for a refund.

Wonderful

MSI P6N SLI Platinum LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI P6N SLI Platinum LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: The manual is virtually flawless. The setup and customizing for a setup using an HDTV and a HD Ready Video Card by the same manufacturer made this motherboard an easy choice. This board performs to the manufacturers specifications.

Cons: I'd like the price to be a little less expensive however you get what you pay for and in this case it is excellence in execution.

Overall Review: I build computer systems regularly and building around this motherboard was a great experience. I have since built a few more systems around this motherboard.

Avoid At All Costs

Linksys WUSB54G Wireless-G Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g USB 1.1/2.0 Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates
Linksys WUSB54G Wireless-G Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g USB 1.1/2.0 Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: This card is capable of everything the manufacturer claims.

Cons: However the above is only capable when this adapter is not being fickle and inconsistent. This adapter drops signals many times during use. If you are wirelessly networking computers or printers using this adapter you will be met with nothing but frustration. If you play any MMORPG do not buy this adapter. It's not worth a wipe.

Overall Review: Trust me when I say that this adapter should be avoided. If you are looking for a solution for a desktop get an internal card with an antenna.

Rock Steady & Bebop

Linksys WUSB54GR Wireless-G Network Adapter with RangeBooster IEEE 802.11b/g USB 2.0 Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates
Linksys WUSB54GR Wireless-G Network Adapter with RangeBooster IEEE 802.11b/g USB 2.0 Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: It's better than its predecessor in terms of performance and style. The older version of this adapter would drop a connection even though there was no interferance after or worse during receiving/sending a few gigs of information. This adapter is rock steady and I've yet to have a dropped connection except when there is a problem with the router.

Cons: The software needed to run this adapter is wasting space in my system tray. It doesn't give me the option to hide or remove it even with the windows zero configuration settings turned on. I'm also lazy and I just want an easy solution.

Overall Review: I realize that I've only had this item for a short period but I will update after another month of using this adapter.
