Almost A Year Old @ Purchase

HGST Ultrastar 7K3000 HUA723020ALA640 (0F12455) 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Enterprisel Hard Drive Bare Drive
HGST Ultrastar 7K3000 HUA723020ALA640 (0F12455) 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Enterprisel Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: HGST Has a super high longevity record... If it survives the first few days/weeks. Ran it thru the mill for the first week & a half of ownership - Zero Faults

Cons: Bought it in Aug. 2014 - It was manufactured Oct. 2013 - KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!!! IF you have RMA it without a receipt, you'll lose almost a year of warranty! You need to run it thru the mill for the first week or two of ownership... If it survives, the statistics are that it will outlast its warranty without any problems.

Overall Review: Fast - Moving movie data over @ a sustained rate of 67.25 MB/sec from a WD Caviar Black HDD. Regular, daily type data from the same HDD, sustained rate of 37.73 MB/sec - Both times data was moved thru Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier 5.2

Mushkin Enhanced Redline 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 997056
Mushkin Enhanced Redline 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 997056

Pros: Fastest DDR3 1600 Clocks @ the time of purchase for the money. 7-7-7-24. They quit making this model RAM!

Cons: One module (in slot #2) so bad, computer will not boot when it was the only one in the machine. Slot #1 Module had over 40,000 errors on Memtest86.

Overall Review: Lifetime warranty only good for ORIGINAL Purchaser!!! AND MUST have 'Proof-of-Purchase' to get RMA

Problem SSD/Then RMA'd

OCZ Vertex 4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) VTX4-25SAT3-128G
OCZ Vertex 4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) VTX4-25SAT3-128G

Pros: Fast! Faster running at SATA2 speeds than regular HDD running at SATA3 speeds.

Cons: Would only be recognized as SATA 2.0 (SATA 300) from the start... Started RMA process, but couldn't force myself to go back to std. HDD - SSD still so much faster than SATA 3.0 (SATA 600). A year later, the SSD started having errors & crashing Win7. Had to put up a fight to get replacement.

Overall Review: Should have RMA'd the SSD at start. Glad I had kept 1st set of details and RMA Ticket Number. OCZ did not want to honor warranty when it finally 'bit the dust'. Replacement SSD has run flawlessly for the last 2+ years.
