ThinkCentre Desktop PC M58 (7244A36) Intel Celeron E3400 2GB DDR3 250GB HDD Intel GMA 4500 Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit

Pros: Price; quiet; well made and packaged

Cons: None yet

Overall Review: Arrived in good shape; well packaged. Almost totally silent. Provides a easy to use utility to back up the rescue partition to DVD - a very nice feature. I tested it and it actually works. Inside is well laid out. Obvious care taken in cable management. Great box for email, web, etc. Think I'll buy another one.

OK for 3 days...

Foxconn A7DA-S AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
Foxconn A7DA-S AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: I like the heat pipes; system and CPU temps never exceeded 40C. Good performance, while it lasted.

Cons: Died after 3 days. CPU and memory checked out fine on another AM2 board.

Overall Review: Brisbane 5000+ @ 2.6 (I don't overclock), 4GB of OCZ DDR2 800 RAM, Windows XP x64.

Not made by IBM

ThinkCentre Desktop PC M58 (7244A36) Intel Celeron E3400 2GB DDR3 250GB HDD Intel GMA 4500 Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit

Pros: We'll see how it works for personal use - I just ordered one. By the company that I work for is using thousands of these and they seem reliable.

Cons: We'll see.

Overall Review: These are NOT made by IBM. IBM sold their PC division to the Chinese years ago. If you have a HP printer that won't work with this machine, check your drivers. It certainly isn't IBM's fault. I don't work for IBM, but have worked for competitors; hence my respect for their products. This is not an IBM product.

Works well

NETGEAR XAV2001-100NAS Powerline AV 200 Adapter Up to 200Mbps
NETGEAR XAV2001-100NAS Powerline AV 200 Adapter Up to 200Mbps

Pros: Works as advertised.

Cons: None, as long as you do some basic research before you buy.

Overall Review: Speeds will depend on breaker and wiring quality. I can't understand someone giving this product a single star because he/she does not have the ability to understand basic networking.

Nice addition

Polk Audio Monitor 60 Black Floorstanding Loudspeaker Single
Polk Audio Monitor 60 Black Floorstanding Loudspeaker Single

Pros: Great sound, small footprint

Cons: None

Overall Review: Paired up with a CS1 center, PSW505 and 4 LX5 Pros (with the Linaeum tweeters). Any decent HT system needs a sub, so I won't knock the relatively weak bass.

Reburb?

Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 2.0 M Effective Pixels USB 2.0 WebCam

Pros: Can't tell it's a refurb - looks and works like it's 100% new. We use it to Skype with our college student daughter, 1200 miles away...we are all very impressed with the quality of video and sound. Stand is well designed and works well on a desk or perched on a monitor. Great purchase. As usual, Newegg comes through with a great deal and fast shipping.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Having an issue with Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) and Skype. Not transmitting video. Transmitting sound, and receiving sound and video OK. Installed latest from Logitech's website. Haven't had a lot of time too troubleshoot, so may be me ;)
