Pros: It looks wonderful. Nice layout, nice LED lighting.
Cons: DOA. USB over current error prevents me from getting into BIOS. Was out of return cycle, so I have to deal with ASUS tech support. Reset CMOS, as per tech support. It’s doing the RMA Rumba right now. Nothing against Newegg. This is all on ASUS.
Overall Review: I have a 2nd board I’m going to try. We shall see.
Pros: Replaced my old Motorola 1st Gen DOCSIS 3.0 modem. Setup was quick and easy. Literally dummy proof: Screw the coax cable on, plug the Cat5 cable in to the router/computer, power it up, power up the router/computer, register with ISP, and done. Steady signal quality.
Cons: Two Cons: 1. It's bright white! (Black like the rest of my gear plz!!!) 2. No dimmer for the LEDs. The LEDs light up the whole room! I can see the light from outside with the shades drawn. The window glows BLUE! My neighbors joked that I have a nuke reactor in there (the LEDs glow nuclear electric blue!) I told them I have the Tesseract Cube in there. My neighbors stopped joking. Did I mention that the LEDs were bright blue?
Overall Review: Excellent quality product. Works as intended. Did I mention that the LEDs were bright blue?
Pros: Very comfortable circumaural (around the ear) head set!!! Keep getting killed because the OPFOR is sneaking up on you from behind? NOT ANY MORE! Hear them coming a mile away! Crystal clear sounds! No sweating with these! LOVE the volume control on the earpiece! No more getting the cord hung up or accidentally muting sound or microphone! Well thought out ergonomics! COMFORTABLE!!! It took about a week for them to settle in!
Cons: My wife tried them... Now she wants a set and Newegg is out of stock!!! AUGH!
Overall Review: No fancy sound board in my rig. Just what's on the mobo. These babies put all the other headsets I've ever purchased to shame. Replaced a ~4 year old Razer Tiamat 2.2 headset with these.
Edit: I have had these for over 4 months now. They are still the best headset I have ever purchased!
Pros: Software makes the card easy to control, if you want to do that. It does work very well, when it works.
Cons: I purchased two of these. One works just fine in my wife's system (we have identical systems), however the fans on the one in mine died within 6 months causing the video to black screen and lock up the system. I have already contacted Jason at ASUS and gotten all the info for an RMA. When it works, it's fast and clean. Don't use a DVI connector cable with this card. Use a HDMI.
Overall Review: Currently, I would still recommend this card to others. ASUS Customer Service was very responsive and responded to my contact request quickly. I would just continue to keep an eye on the reviews to see if this malfunction is a trend. I've looked through other reviews and there are several other similar occurences.
Pros: Better than the original! The Original G500 was a Legendary design! This one beats it! If you loved the original, you'll love this one! Comes with the weights if you need them, replaceable foot pads, amazingly well thought out button placement (no need to contort your hand!) Little tweaks in the design and the software make this a world beater again! If you're thinking of any other higher priced mouse, forget it and get this one.
Cons: I have yet to find any. I loved my original G500 mice (multiple). This one is even better.
Overall Review: Make sure you remove any other mouse control program or old Logitech mouse software and install the latest version before plugging up this mouse.
Pros: None If I could give it ZERO eggs, I would!
Cons: I purchased an Intel I7 Processor and this software was supposed to come with it. What I got was a voucher with a serial number on it to download the software. I went to Cyberlink's site, tried to download the software, and all I got was an "Invalid Code". I typed the code in several times to make sure I wasn't fat fingering it.
Overall Review: After trying to call Newegg and getting told the queue is 1 hour plus, I tried to call the number listed. I got Intel and some semi-sentient script reader who promptly disconnected me when he tried to transfer me.
Pros: Nonexistent! Forget you ever looked at it! This is not the cooling fan you are looking for!
Cons: Spent some time researching this to see if I was missing something! No instructions in the packaging. It's not even listed on Thermaltake's website! Do a search for it and it come up with a DB error (for 2 days now???) According to web forums it's an outdated model.
Overall Review: It's going back to Newegg!!!
Pros: Easy to set up, no muss, no fuss. Love the 50 Meg download speed.
Cons: None that I can figure out and I thought long and hard about any.
Overall Review: 1. Before purchasing this, make sure your cable internet provider supports DOCSIS 3.0 in your area of service. Some providers offer it, but only in select parts of their areas.
2. Either take the modem to their office to register it with them or call it in. Some automated registration processes epic fail!
3. Now install the modem as per the instructions.
Pros: See CONS below
Cons: As per a MASSIVE 93 page post on NVIDIA's forums: There are known problems with the 400 series cards and some 500 series cards with them blue/black screening and crashing at random times. It's a KNOWN NVIDIA problem, not a manufacturer problem such as EVGA. These cards will work fine at first, but about 3 months in will start to randomly crash out. Architecture of the chipset seems to be at fault.
Overall Review: Caveat Emptor! I'm a huge fan of NVIDIA but after this fiasco, it's ATI from now on.
Pros: See earlier review
Cons: Started boot hanging, double booting, BSOD, Black Screen with NVIDIA video drivers above 260.99. Doesn't like 3D and PhysX NVIDIA drivers either. Has been flashed to the latest BIOS. Contacted EVGA customer support twice, felt like I was ignored. No permanent fix available as of yet!
Overall Review: Hey EVGA, can I return this and my EVGA GTX470 to you guys and get something that works? I didn't overclock this board or the video card. You would think that EVGA products would like each other.
Pros: Great card when it works! It worked great until I updated my drivers in January, then all "H" broke lose. I have hope everytime NVIDIA releases new drivers, but so far...
Cons: Refuses to work with newer NVIDIA drivers. Blue screens, Black screens, hang boots, double boots and random reboots system. EVGA acknowledges problems with NVIDIA drivers on their forums. Best drivers it works with are the 260.99's date 25 October 2010.
Overall Review: F8 boot and disable any HD Audio device on PCI bus 1, device 1 for this to stop Black Screen booting/BSOD. Roll back to the 260.99 drivers to get it to work. Also, uninstall the 3D and the PhysX drivers. Paired this card with an EVGA P55FTW200 motherboard, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit as the OS. No overclocking!
Pros: Comes with all the bells and whistels you'd expect a motherboard of this quality to have. Overclockable, supports a multitude of Processor and memory combinations. Lots of logically placed fan connections.
Cons: Not really a con, but I failed to notice that it didn't have EIDE connectors, so I got to order a SATA DVD Burner from Newegg.
Overall Review: After reading what some of the other reviewers mentioned about double booting and other problems they had, I went ahead and downloaded the new BIOS and drivers to a CD. The first thing I did was flash the BIOS and install the latest drivers, as any good system builder should do. No problems whatsoever. The only minor installation glitch was that I had to turn my Arctic Cool Processor Fan on the board 90 deg clockwise due to a layout configuration conflict, but it works and it keeps everything nice and cool.
Pros: Comfortable fit, even for fat heads like mine, great sound quality for games and listening to music, well constructed, braided long cable that's break resistant and untangles without problems. Works great with Ventrilo for WoW usage.
Cons: Could be just a tad better in the sound quality, not 7.1 or 5.1 surround.
Overall Review: I have tried other brands, but none of them could hold up to these headsets. I purchased one for myself, one for my wife, and one for my son all over the course of 2 years. They work well, they are well constructed and engineered. Mic flips up and away. They look professional, not like some headsets that made you look like Mickey Mouse. They work and they last!
Pros: Newegg shipped it fast. That's about it.
Cons: Microphone DOA, cheap materials, uncomfortable, poor sound quality, Momma sez its da debil! Seen better prizes from a bubble gum machine! DO NOT BUY!
Overall Review: Want to throw away money? Buy this headset.
Pros: Very high quality of materials, software actually works with WoW. Fits very nicely in the hand. Microsoft Update actually finds and updates the software drivers. Very nice and varied sensitivity levels. Adjusts on the fly.
Cons: Thumb Buttons in front of the number pad are oddly/awkwardly placed. The number pad for quick macro/commands is useless if you have a average or better sized thumb. For Right Handers only.
Overall Review: The "trainer" items that come with the mouse to help you train your thumb to where the buttons on the number pad are is a good try. This mouse is an attempt at incorporating a gamepad with a mouse. It almost worked for me. If you have smaller hands and a thumb that can do gymnastics, then this is may be a great mouse for you.
I kind of wish they would make one of these without the number pad and move the thumb buttons (forward/back) to a more ergonomically accessible location.
Pros: I purchased 2 of these for the household. Windows 7 Home Edition Ultimate, very well designed, hardware package is great for casual gamers and home users alike. Very fast, nice styling. These things run hush hush quiet! The initial setup was nice and easy.
Cons: BLOATWARE! These things are loaded with it! I spent 2 hours per machine uninstalling the junk in the trunk! - 1 Egg for that! Packaging was WAY below par! The box that systems were shipped in was split open and the boxes the systems were in were barely covered with packing material! - 1 Egg for that!
Overall Review: I would not recommend the brown shorts shipping! Someone got lax on the packaging or the shipper with the brown shorts tried to play kickball with my box or a bit of both. Buy yourself a good mouse, backpack, and cooling pad to go with this and you'll be set.
Pros: As mentioned in my previous review: These are very well constructed, no cheapo materials like Plant Ronics. They fit MOST sized heads and ears. The sound quality is way beyond the junk headsets you get from other manufacturers. The cord is nice and long and shielded! Plugs nicely into my Razer Lachesis Keyboard too! I have had mine for over 7 months of daily WoW and EVE play and they still work/sound great!
Cons: None really. My wife liked my headset so much she made me order one for her!
Overall Review: These are quality gaming headsets. They are not 5.1 or 7.1, but speaking from past experience, these will still do nicely for music. Audiophiles will turn up their noses at these because of the lack of surround sound (unless you are a trained professional, you really can't tell the difference!), but for the best gaming headset (In my humble opinion), get these. Untangle the cable from time to time and don't run over the cord with chairs or vaccums. Treat them right and they'll last! Don't give these a low rating because you epic failed by abusing them.
Pros: All around adjustability to DPS, Scrolling, etc. replaceable feet, great balance, updateable firmware, excellent stable drivers, great support if you ever need it. The buttons are well placed even for lefties. The design is ergo friendly and works well with both light touchers and heavy hammer mousers.
Cons: I'm trying to think but nothing happens...
It may take an hour to get used to...
Overall Review: I have two of these purchased about a year apart. The one I've had the longest I purchased 2 years ago. Used daily to play WoW and EVE. I would venture to guess with a reasonable certainty of over a million mouse clicks. I purchased the 2nd one for my laptop and it's being used now while I wait for my 3rd one to arrive from Newegg! The first one gave up the click ghost this week... (burial at dawn with "Taps", no disrespect to the mil folks). The Copperhead is just like it's namesake: Tough, hard to kill, and when it comes to gaming it's a natural born killer! The slowly blinking blue emblem on top is just a perfect ominous sign when you walk into a dark room. It becons you to play!
Pros: Braided cable, flip up boom microphone, long cable, light weight, very comfortable! This headset is well worth the money. Very well constructed, nice clear sound, did I say comfortable? No sweating of the ears with these guys. Not as bulky as some other headsets. They adjusted to my fat head and went around my big ears. There must be some mutants out there who are saying that they don't fit. They were still comfortable after a complete day (12 hours plus) of gaming. I love the braided cable!
Cons: These are not 5.1 or 7.1. Microphone swivel attachment could be a bit tighter, price could be cheaper... WAIT! Newegg lowered the price the day after I ordered them!... UPS sent them on a detour two states over after they were already in town which added 2 days to shipping.
Overall Review: Kinda sad that Newegg lowered the price literally the day after I ordered them and didn't refund me the difference even though I hadn't received them yet. I guess they're not like Orbitz. These are quality headphones! Razer didn't go cheap like Plant Ronics.
Pros: Excellent design, 4 rails of power, QUIET!, steady voltage and amperage, You only plug in the cords you need. Helps keep a nice neat appearance in the case. The fan on this is bigger than some other PS fans, helps keep it cool and quiet.
Overall Review: This PS was purchased specifically to provide enough power to run a GX260 video card. It provides enough power to run that, 2 SATA HD's, 4 additional cooling fans, and of course, the system itself. This PS is whisper quiet. I had to check to see if the fan was running. The silicone gasket was useless in my case since it only had barely enough room for the PS, but depending on the case, it will help dampen noise.
Pros: Very steady power supply, low noise, 4 rails for separate power for various peripherals, works very well with the NVidia 2XX video cards. Modular design eliminates unused cabling for a nice clean look. I like it, but ... (see below)
Cons: Warranty information??? I helped a friend out with one of these when it went bad on him. Rosewill hides their warranty information. It's not listed by product on their website, nor is it listed here. We spent a good bit or time looking for the info. Luckily my friend was able to return it to the store he purchased it from and get a 1-for-1 exchange that worked after I spoke with the manager on his behalf.
Overall Review: Caveat Emptor. You get what you pay for. Other power supply manufacturers aren't shy about listing their warranty information. I told my friend that in the future he needed to buy his gear from Newegg (no hassle RMA's!). The 3 eggs are for Rosewill, not Newegg. Don't get me wrong, this is a nice power supply. I just hope it doesn't need to be warrantied.
Pros: Very comfortable, fit well. Microphone works well.
Cons: The sound on these is mediocre at best. I use them for gaming and they sound very weak, even with a good sound card behind them. Material is CHEAP! Plastic Plastic uber alles! Very low grade material as compared to similarly priced headphones. The cord is made out of good material, but, as mentioned before, about 3' too short! $29.95 would be a better price on these than $50.
Overall Review: When is someone going to come up with a quality headset product for a reasonable price?
Pros: See Previous Review
Cons: See Previous Review
The microphone breaks for no reason!
THE SOFTWARE ON THE CD IS AWFUL! DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE FROM THEIR WEBSITE!
Overall Review: Okay folks, the mic on these thing is a piece of junk. The mic on the new set they sent me worked for a couple of weeks then just flat out died. Their tech support wants to continue sending me product until it gets fixed, but I want my money back so I can get a headset with a mic that works for more than a month.
Pros: See previous review.
Cons: See previous reviews.
If you use these in USB mode DO NOT USE THE DRIVERS ON THE CD!!! Download and install the new drivers from their website.
Overall Review: Seems there was a wiring problem in the headset on the original set that I purchased. Was sent a new set. New set working fine for the moment. Their tech support is very helpful and responsive. I just wish they would have worked the way they do now without the tech support hassle. Otherwise a very good product! This is not a small headset!
Pros: I stand by my pros in the previous review.
Cons: Once again, the removeable microphone on this headset has failed (two in a month). I am attempting to work with the manufacturer to get a solution to this problem.
The microphone sensitivity is not really good to begin with, come to find out. Symptom: Microphone input gets even weaker, other folks in my WoW guild and EVE corp both said there is a lot of crackling and static (I verified on my wife's computer).
Overall Review: Great headphones, lousy microphone (In my humble opinion). I guess I'm going headset shopping again.
