Awesome.

OCZ AMD Black Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model OCZ3BE1600C8LV4GK
OCZ AMD Black Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model OCZ3BE1600C8LV4GK

Pros: Got these as I was tasked to build a computer for a family member. Being the troll I am, I decided to take my current config and trade out a few parts to even up the ante: I currently use the 790FX-GD70 with an Athlon II x3 440. So I purchased the Phenom II x4 955 (OC'd it to 3.6 with air cooling) and added this RAM to complete the upgrade. This PC is awesome now - there isn't much I can be wanting at this point.

Cons: Nothing. Seriously - there are no cons when combining these sticks with a Phenom II x4 on the board it was meant for, the 790FX-GD70.

Overall Review: I have an aftermarket cooler that I was already using for the Athlon, and the stock cooler seems pretty beefy - it could prob be fine on its own. If you want serious OC though (3.6+) then I would upgrade to something more sophisticated. Currently with a CoolerMaster I average at 45c. Running Prime95 it topped out at 61c. Not bad, but could be cooler...

Didn't work for me

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-4GBNT
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-4GBNT

Pros: Fast shipping, great price.

Cons: Not sure what the issue was with these - everything worked fine (machine booted, no POST errors, no slowdowns) but Memtest86 failed on every test and on several attempts. Bought new same spec sticks at a local shop and no errors at all.

Overall Review: I have heard these were incompatible with the MSI 785GM-e51 mobo; guess they were right!

Nice Drive, Good Specs (When it Works)

WD Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Nice specifications for a decent price. Space is adequate.

Cons: It died after about two install attempts. I was trying to install ProvMox v13 and it kept failing. Tried to install Windows 8 instead and it produced read errors. I then did a check on the disk and it found over 2000 bad sectors.

Overall Review: I am waiting on the NewEgg replacement drive to arrive. I will start off by running tests on it to ensure it too isn't damaged upon arrival.

Buy this now!

CORSAIR Hydro Series H80 (CWCH80) High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
CORSAIR Hydro Series H80 (CWCH80) High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: Absolutely stunning temperatures. OC'd by phenom 955 to 3.824 (seems the best it will go with all 4 cores stable) and with max load I am getting 41 deg. C. Prior to this upgrade I was using a Cooler Master Gemini II - under load it was upwards of 55-65 deg depending on the exact task. Now - consistent 40's.

Cons: None. Although I suppose a cooling device like this, similar to all electric devices will someday fail. I hope that it does not spill liquid and take most everything else with it... ;)

Overall Review: cpu: AMD Phenom II x4 955 (Stock 3.2 gHz) mobo: MSi 790FX-GD70 vid: MSi R6850 Cyclone mem: 12GB RAM

Great Flash Drive!

CORSAIR Voyager 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model CMFUSB2.0-16GB
CORSAIR Voyager 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model CMFUSB2.0-16GB

Pros: Size, rubber coating, price. Seems to read/write fairly quick.

Cons: None yet - although the rubber keeps it from having more than just it installed in most USB ports.

Awesome.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 125W Processor - HDZ955FBGMBOX
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 125W Processor - HDZ955FBGMBOX

Pros: Price: GHz per $ this cannot be beat. Solid quad core. Easily OC'd, unlocked multiplier.

Cons: Seems to run hot by nature, not really a con though... I don't know how the stock heat sink worked but it definitely looks quite solid.

Overall Review: I use a CoolerMaster fan to cool - OC with stock voltages to 3.650GHz and it stays idle at 45c and gets to 59-60c under prime95 testing. If I had water, I could probably cool it better and OC it more!
