Second Soundbar
Pros: Provides a terrific sound improvement for my LG smart TV Price/benefit is reasonable. Bass response is good. Extremely easy to connect and use. optical connection cable included.
Cons: The sound level is not continuously adjustable. Adjustment resembles a switch effect with numbered settings.
Overall Review: I am pleased with the performance. I truly wonder if I would actually appreciated the supposed performance improvement in a $300+ sound bar. It's for TV not high end music listening. Not 5 stars only because I don't know of ANYTHING that is "perfect".
7970 gigahertz edition
Pros: Smokin' fast. Silent: NO coil whine.Pretty. Wish my girlfriend was as quiet - the whining part.
Cons: After nearly three month of running (just) Skyrim the card started to drop a frame now and again. At three months there was a puff of smoke & an acrid odor and everything went dark. Card was WAY TOO HOT to handle. 2 Weeks to get a replacement via RMA to/from XFX.
Overall Review: I'm running with a 80+ Gold level 1050 watt PSU in a Cooler Master Trooper case. 5 stars when its running, 1 star for reliability = 3 star raqting
Monitor angle adjustment is jammed
Pros: Difficult to list any "pros" since the mechanism for adjusting the monitor angle is stuck/jammed and it can't be used. The monitor was delivered VERY quickly ... big deal.
Cons: The paragraph headings in the instructions are in English but excepting perhaps a single sentence of "explanation" there is every language BUT English. Thus far this is a disaster. I am afraid I might break the "swiveling device" when trying to free it. BTW, I am not a klutz when it comes to electronics & tools. What a hassle this is. I expect the adjustment mechanism was originally damaged before shipment as the instruction pictures indicated one needs to attach it. It came attached AND jammed. Good luck to you.
Overall Review: I have purchased other ASUS parts for home builds but the peripherals like monitors seem to be sub-standard. 1 star because monitor is, for now, absolutely unusable and cannot its intended functionality cannot be evaluated.
Cost benefit ratio
Pros: Has worked very well at 2.4 Ghz for 9+ months. CHEAP and reliable at 2.4
Cons: Lost the capability for 5 Ghz after 2 months. It just quit detecting the 5Ghz signal. The signal IS available as other devices can connect using it but this adapter just quit working at that frequency
Overall Review: Fortunately I can still get 25 MBs download speeds which are sufficient for my needs but less than the 50 I am paying for. [SIGH]
Just for the money
Pros: No immediate or apparent bugs
Cons: The game is utterly unnecessary as CIV5 is OBVIOUSLY far far superior. A waste of money on a repainted used up car. Can't return or get a refund because of licensing. Bummer all the way around
Overall Review: The difference between Civ:BE and Civ 5 is similar to the difference between Civ 4 and Civ 5 only going in the wrong direction. This mash-up was brought to market ONLY for the cash it would generate from the fans of Civ series. Sid Meier has badly betrayed the fan base and scooted off with the cash. Oh well.
Fallout Freeze
Pros: Great game continuation all the way from the ORIGINAL Wasteland. Lot's of imagination and dark humor. Story line(s) full of surprises. Great replay value
Cons: Typical Bethesda product. LOTS of bugs; some even game/adventure killing. Bethesda seems to rush to market to collect the dollars from the fans but NEVER does a decent job of debugging. They let customers report all the bugs and then offer limited patches. Some of the bugs seem to be memory leak variety which is just sloppy amateurish coding. Be prepared for frustration.
Overall Review: While the game runs before crashes it is a terrific experience. That fact only makes the bugs, freezes, crashes even more disappointing. I am running Win7 Pro and even with ALL of the suggested fixes the game still has its, ummmm..., moments.
