Decent TV

Pros: Nice 720P TV. Price.

Cons: No Coaxial input, though shown in the product tour picture.

Stunning

Panasonic VIERA 42" 1080p 480Hz Plasma HDTV w/Anti-Reflective Filter & 3 HDMI - TH42PZ80U
Panasonic VIERA 42" 1080p 480Hz Plasma HDTV w/Anti-Reflective Filter & 3 HDMI - TH42PZ80U

Pros: Picture is stunning. Color and contrast ratio are far superior to LCD TVs. Blu Ray is quite nice. Planet Earth in 1080p is absolutely stunning

Cons: It's a lil warm, but there are 4 fans on the back that address this.

Overall Review: A great value for a 1080p tv!!

The lens is key

Nikon D40x Black 10.2 MP Digital SLR Camera w/ AF-S DX Zoom- NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II Lens
Nikon D40x Black 10.2 MP Digital SLR Camera w/ AF-S DX Zoom- NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II Lens

Pros: The body is awesome. Really simple, intuitive interface. Usable for both beginner and expert. The sensor is really nice. Photos are crisp and the color is rich. The lens is excellent for a consumer grade lens. You really can't get a better bang for the buck. The body feels like it was meant to be held, you're not holding the camera as much as it is an extension of your hand. There's no contorting to get to commonly used controls.

Cons: There is no auto-focus motor on the body, therefore the camera cannot auto-focus if you aren't using a lens with an integrated motor such as the Nikon AF-I or AF-S lens. This isn't really a problem since they're really nice lenses, and with Nikon's VR (vibration reduction) technology, there's really nothing to dislike about them. Just something to keep in mind if you plan to shop further.

Overall Review: I chose the d40x over the Canon EOS 400D (rebel XTI) because the lens that ships with the Nikon is much nicer. Initially the lack of lens variety was a detractor, however the research I did suggested that the d40x shipped with a better lens. This proved true. I've been so impressed with it that even if given the choice, I'd still buy and use Nikon's line of lenses.

You buy these for the sound

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Max Burst Power: 200 watts @ < 1% THD 2.1 Speaker System
Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Max Burst Power: 200 watts @ < 1% THD 2.1 Speaker System

Pros: The sound is absolutely amazing. I went from a 6.1 setup to this and it blows them out of the water in terms of sound quality, both at high and low volumes. Another thing that differentiates them from lower quality speakers is that the speakers have excellent shielding, and therefore there is no interference from GSM cell phone signals. Headphone/Audio In are in a intuitive yet unobtrusive place. For a workstation, this is a simple, professional grade speaker set.

Cons: None.

Works just fine

Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5000 Laser
Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5000 Laser

Pros: Bluetooth EDR 2.0 + is awesome. It's nice to be able to add devices besides the keyboard and mouse. Configuration is straightforward. I didn't have any trouble setting it up and it works great. The rechargeable mouse/cradle is awesome. Battery indicators for the devices are intuitive and easy to read.

Cons: The bluetooth lags slightly if there is a barrier between the receiver and the devices. The software only allows the keyboard's media buttons to control a single application. I cannot use the buttons in winamp, then close winamp, and use the buttons to control PowerDVD.

Overall Review: Looks sharp

SAMSUNG 24" a-si TFT/TN WUXGA LCD Monitor with Height Adjustment 5 ms 1920 x 1200 D-Sub, DVI-D 245BW

Pros: Absolutely stunning picture. Using the DVI input, the native resolution and the nvidia display optimization wizards has yielded terrific results. This is a no-gimmicks, professional grade monitor with classy looks and amazing value. None of those horrible built in speakers!

Cons: None really

Overall Review: If you don't need built in USB, HDMI, or speakers, this is the monitor for you.
