Pros: Easy to set up - 3 way switch to increase voltage
Love the cool white light (very much)
Got it on deal and saved some money. But I'm excited how well this light works. Great lighting for watching movies or needing brighter light.
Cons: No cons. A bazillion hours of lighting usage. (I could be off a bit on that one) ... It was a bunch!
Overall Review: I would recommend this lamp to friends and other buyers
I'm going to add another lamp for an separate desk.
Pros: - Works perfectly, right out of the box
- Simple and intuitive controls
- Backed by the trusted Western Digital name
Overall Review: I'm from an older generation so simplicity is greatly appreciated. I use the streaming function as well as loading movies, (in all formats), on a USB memory stick. I have yet to find a movie that will not play from a memory stick. (Unlike a DVD). Of course Netflix is great and I'm sure other venues are just as good. I just don't use many of them.
Pros: - Well packaged
- Excellent installation instructions
- High quality printing
- Massive savings possible when this product is on deal
Overall Review: I will be bluntly honest: When I started getting messages from my Brother printer that it was nearing time to replace the Toner Cartridge, I started getting nervous. That was all quite unnecessary. Rosewill's Toner replacement cartridge worked perfectly. I did the replacement nearly a year ago and it's still printing perfectly. When the time comes again, I will choose Rosewill's Toner without hesitation. I am using the Brother HL-2270 DW printer. Installation was very easy.
Pros: - Super thin wire makes this HDMI cable easy to use in tight areas or to conceal.
- Connection was solid and the video played on the 37" HDTV was awesome.
- The Egg's price beat the heck out of WallyWorld's price (as usual)
Overall Review: Rosewill does not get enough credit for their efforts to make our world better at a lower price. I've purchased many of their products and will continue to do so.
Pros: - Easy setup
- Worked immediately upon plugging in
Cons: Compared to a Corsair HS1-A headphones this unit is not even close.
Very mediocre sound quality
BF3 sound was terrible compared to Corsair HS
Other games fared no better. The sound quality is just average at best
Overall Review: I found the Creative Headset on sale and was looking for a good backup to my Corsair HS1-A head set. I had recently rolled my chair over the volume control and cracked it. It was an easy comparison between "OK" to "GREAT" when I compared the two sets. The Creative unit needs some improvements. Average sound quality at best
Pros: - Easy setup
- Extremely intuitive
- Worked immediately
- Ability to play any files from USB memory stick (A HUGE PRO)
- Quick access to NETFLIX, HULU + and other features
Cons: - No photos appeared when Facebook account accessed. I haven't figured that one out yet.
- Box generates a bit of heat - Just don't cover the box
Overall Review: I was thoroughly impressed with this Western Digital product. I read several reviews and of course there were those that managed to find problems I never heard of and certainly am not experiencing. I give this unit a big thumbs-up.
Pros: - A beautiful necklace
- .925 Sterling silver chain
- Blazing blue Topaz stone with a great cut
- Shipped promptly
- Great price!
- Made me a hero because it wasn't her birthday, anniversary or any other date in which she expected a gift.
Overall Review: I was a little skeptical buying jewelry online but since it was one of Newegg's affiliates I knew it had to be nice. Yes, I would order again from this seller.
Pros: This is a well built case by Lian Li. The difference is that it is made from steel instead of aluminum. Other than that Lian Li quality is prevalent throughout the case. Bottom mount for the power supply is not only handy is takes the PSU completely out of the way.
For the PCI slots Lian Li used the same fasteners that it uses on it's much more expensive cases. Even the heaviest of video cards will be well secured in this case.
Note that a front 140 and a rear 120 fan are included. The top of the case is easily removable where you can add two 140mm Fans for even better cooling. The holes are drilled and is merely waiting for the installation of the fans.
The HDD cage is top shelf. Lian Li makes adding or removing a HDD a virtual snap. You will like their mounting system, I know I do. Also plenty of room above the HDD cage for optical bays. I prefer to use the space in a couple of optical bays to mount another 120 or 140mm fan for additional air throughput directly toward the RAM and ultimately the CPU cooler.
With 4 fans running and a CPU cooler, this case is ultra quiet and an excellent case if you are on a budget. But don't expect a "budget looking" case. This is a great case.
Cons: Seriously I have found no cons on this case nor the other one I purchased over a year ago.
Overall Review: Inside the case the metal is that dull gray color. Motherboard tray, HDD cage, etc. I took the case apart, (which is very easy to do), and spray painted all the gray with a nice Semi-Gloss black. If you ask me, it added about $150 in value appearance wise. It turned out great.
Pros: * Packaged like it cost $100.00
* It did not cost $100.00
* The stamping and all the holes are done correctly
* A simple solution to what should be an easy operation
* Screws included - Nice touch as these types/sizes are sometimes hard to find.
Cons: * Not really a con, but you're on your own to figure out the configuration to bolt these to the HDD - No instructions, (None are actually necessary).
Overall Review: After several attempts to do what I would assume to be a no-brainer installation, I figured out that what I was trying to do wasn't going to work. Having a screwdriver that has the little clip to hold your screw as you start it will be worth a fortune to you.
Thankfully someone mentioned that he had to use the long oblong opening for both screws. He was right and that then allowed me to make the necessary adjustment inside the optical drive port.
This is a nice piece of hardware and very helpful.
Pros: Brilliant colors - Ultra bright - Seems to be as fast as my 2ms ASUS 25.5" monitor
Blacks are excellent for an LCD monitor!
ZERO stuck pixels
Well worth the $189 bucks for a quality 25" monitor.
For a TN monitor it is VERY impressive
I can easily recommend this monitor
Cons: Since it was a refurb it was relegated to the home-made packaging either at the Egg or maybe from ASUS, but the monitor was loose inside the cardboard box! The bezel had come partially loose but snapped back just fine. Normally, I wouldn't complain about no setup manual but the mounting hardware wasn't exactly a walk in the park. I was amazed that when I fired it up it worked perfectly. Minus one egg for careless packaging.
Overall Review: Thanks to all the blabbermouth buyers of this monitor that kept mentioning removing the cheesy decal on the front of the monitor. Supposedly when you removed it, there would be a nice HP decal, (status symbol, I guess). Well, HP must have read the reviews because there is no longer any decal behind the cheesy decal, so leave it alone.
Fast, on-time shipping by the Egg!
Pros: I am having a hard time comparing the three Planar 27" monitors I own with the ones I'm reading about pixel complaints. I have never had a single dead pixel in the almost 2 years I've owned these monitors.
Regardless, stuff happens I guess, but to lump the Planar PX 2710MW into the bargain basement stuff does a great disservice to a great monitor.
I have not had one single issue with any of the 3 monitors. They work perfectly in both DVI and HDMI. No HDCP surprises either.
Cons: The ONLY con I have is that I did not buy them from the Egg, as I do 99.9% of my electronic equipment. Another vendor had them much cheaper at the time of my purchase. The Egg is now very competitive with their price on this monitor.
Overall Review: I'm using the three 27" monitors in an Eyefinity configuration using two (2) SAPPHIRE HD7850 video cards in Crossfire. I can tell you that it rocks.
Pros: - This card blew through a Battlefield 3 map, (Metro), 64 man match, (Meat-grinder), like a hot knife through butter. If you know what that means, then you will know what to expect from this card.
- This was some of the most intense graphic action I've ever seen yet the highest temp recorded in that 2 hour-plus match, (10,000 tickets), was 63 C. The highest fan speed recorded was 30%, so going to a manual 40% setting should reduce the temps even further and remain quiet.
- The twin fans not only keep the card cool but do it very quietly
- Easy installation because the card is not nearly as long as the HD 6950.
- Single pin connector to the PSU, (woo-hoo!)
Cons: This is Sapphire's budget card, it appears. There are no cables or PSU connectors in the box. You get the usual VGA to DVI coupler and the Crossfire ribbon. You do get a really cool adapter to convert your display port connection to a standard HDMI connection. Pretty cool for multiple monitor rigs, but no HDMI cable included.
Overall Review: Replaced a Sapphire HD 6950, which is a great card. It just generated too much heat in my room. The thought of crossfire with 2 HD6950's raised my electric bill just thinking about it!
I have used Sapphire cards since the HD 5000 series and have never had an issue. This card appears to be no exception. Sapphire is an excellent card maker. I highly recommend this card
Be sure you get the latest AMD/ATI driver for the 7850.
Thanks NEWEGG for fast, 3-day shipping!
Pros: - The sound was good - Not great but certainly not bad as far as gaming went
- Quality seemed to be OK but I did not use them long enough find out
Cons: - Poor microphone quality
I was told by all my gaming buddies that the quality of the microphone was not good. I tried several methods of improving the quality but nothing worked.
Overall Review: To be fair to Rosewill I think I was expecting the quality a $90 USB headset for $20 bucks. As is usually the case that just doesn't happen, regardless of the manufacturer. I will keep the headset as an emergency set. Over the years I've purchased many items made by Rosewill and have been thoroughly happy with them. My expectations on this item were higher than reality.
Pros: This is my second Linksys WRT54G series router. My first, the WRT54G worked perfectly for 5 years. I now wanted to upgrade to the next level which was the WRT54GL.
Installation was easy ... (read cons)
Once installed it worked to perfection. (Wired and Wireless connections and multiple computer networking)
Cons: * Wrong, (or outdated), DVD included with router - (Not a huge deal but an impediment to a quick install) This was determined by the Linksys support rep. The problem only meant that setup had to be manual, which meant a longer install time.
Overall Review: Linksys is a good company that makes a great product. However my biggest complaint or disappointment is that Linksys support is NOT in the United States. It was difficult to understand the representative with me being on a cell phone in Florida and him being in the Philippines. I thought CISCO was an American company? Silly me.
Newegg can take another bow for a great price, fast service and shipping speed.
Pros: Quality build - Dual fans radically better than squirrel-cage type, (and much more quiet)
Does a great job with Battlefield 3 but it could be better (see Cons) Rarely gets above 58 C even in maximum graphics use.
Newegg got it to me in record time and at a very competitive price
Cons: Handles Battlefield 3 very well but still can get bogged down with FPS on very high graphics activities.
Horribly slow rebate process. I hope it eventually will show up. This is my only complaint about Sapphire products.
Overall Review: I am firmly convinced that Sapphire is one of the best if not THE best video card manufacturers in the industry. I now own 5 Sapphire video cards for my other gaming computers. I've never had a problem.
AMD Phenom 970 - Win 7 64bit - Gigabyte 990FX A-UD3 mb - 8Gb RAM
Pros: Owned for about a year and a half. Runs every day. Played at near top settings on BC2. Extremely QUIET and it runs cool. This is probably one of the best video cards SAPPHIRE has built. Overclocks OK, but I don't OC it. In my opinion this is the best cooling system made for AMD Graphics cards, (or Nvidia for that matter).
Overall Review: I shut down, (sleep), the system every night. I don't leave it running for any reason. I am going to buy another one and go Crossfire. It's a lot cheaper than it was a year and a half ago! :) Great card!
Cons: Does not work. Installed the monumental amount of Microsoft bloatware. Finally got that done. Hooked up the USB, as directed. Drivers started loading and were successful. No sound came through headphones. Rebooted over and over. I would send this junk back but then one of you might be the unlucky one to get it as an "open box"
Overall Review: If I had wanted to buy a horrible sound product I would have purchased something by Creative. Instead I went with Microsoft since the headphones would not be used for anything important. I felt MS could at least handle a small task. I was wrong. Purchase these at your own peril.
I have a really nice ABS FX7 USB headset for my gaming rig that took about 3 minutes to get operational and work perfectly. That was almost 2 years ago and they still work fine. That type of efficiency is not in Microsoft's playbook.
Pros: I was pleasantly surprised by this WD external drive! I honestly didn't know what to expect when I got it several months ago. Got it on a NewEgg deal. It is quiet yet very fast even on USB 2.0. I use it to transfer videos to other areas for playback. It's as smooth as silk.
Cons: I like the white light but some will not care for a laser-like LED light that is on constantly. Under activity, the light will flash. It's no big deal and certainly no deal-killer
120Gb may be too small for backups. (but that's not what I bought it for)
Overall Review: This item has neared the top of my list for "things that really helped me do something". Western Digital remains a solid company for making HDD. I love getting away from the bulky 3.5" drives and the clumsy big boxes.
As always, Newegg came through with flying colors.
Pros: * Incredible picture
* Blows away LCD technology
* EZ Setup
* Impressive quality at all levels
* Absolute Value for the money - Price was unbelievable
* Excellent handling of my order and shipping by NEWEGG!
Cons: Absolutely none
Overall Review: I started researching Plasma TV's several months ago when I just got sick to death of cra**py LCD technology and the manufacturer's excuses. The prices of Plasma Televisions was extremely competitive and was actually better than LCD. Panasonic stood out as the leader in Plasma technology and this TV did not disappoint. This is a high quality television and I cannot begin to describe how good the picture actually is.
I used the following settings that (for me) were perfect:
Color - 78
Tint - 1
Sharpness - 0
These settings produced stunning results
Pros: - Works perfectly
- Make sure you have DVI-D video cable(s)
Running 3 27" Planar monitors. Its big... almost too big.
Overall Review: I was ready to ship this thing back to NewEgg and give a very negative review. But decided to email "Hugo", the Power Color rep that posted on this review page. The next day I got a reply from him with the solution to my problem. Thanks Hugo!
Power Color +1
Pros: * Excellent quality! Planar builds great products.
* Unless NewEgg has changed it, the warranty is for 3 years, not 1 as is listed on the Egg's description. I verified that with Planar customer service.
* This monitor is blazing fast. Medal of Honor, no problem at 1900x1080.
* No adjustments were needed as the settings from Planar were perfect for me.
* Comes with a DVI and VGA cable. I checked out the HDMI and it works perfectly.
* Well packaged - NO stuck pixels - Beautiful
* Easy to use OSD - Tiny green light that will not bother anyone.
Cons: Haven't found any. I thought the base was going to be really shaky with the size of this monitor. I was wrong, it is very sturdy.
Overall Review: It is with a heavy heart to have to admit that I did not buy this from Newegg. I buy 99% of my parts from the Egg and I wasn't happy having to go to D*ll to save $40 per unit. I bought 2 of these monitors saving $80. They are going in an Eyefinity setup with 2 Crossfired 5870 vid cards. I have a big desk, I'm not sure it's big enough. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS MONITOR. EXCELLENT QUALITY!
Pros: My old Scientific Atlanta I got from the cable company a few years ago started acting weird so I checked the Egg for a new one. Found the Linksys re-certified for half the price and jumped on it. I have not regretted my purchase. Plugged it in and it worked immediately. I know that connection speeds vary depending on quite a few things, but it appears that my up and down speeds are noticeably faster.
Overall Review: A great brand at a great price! As usual the Egg had it to me in 3 days. Thanks!
Pros: Great action with very nice graphics. Codemasters did a nice job of keeping the graphics believable yet not requiring a monster computer rig or video card to see them.
Yes, there are some glitches and Codemasters is soon to release the second patch along with some cool downloadable content/new missions. I did not know that the Egg had this sim, so I purchased it from another place. Something I rarely ever do. :(
Cons: Glitches in the game can be frustrating at times. Some of the action is clunky such as throwing a grenade, self-healing and a couple of other minor details. Lag is usually only present when your connection to the server is not good. (Example: A guy in the USA trying to join a server located in Italy.... Duh!).
Overall Review: It's the best value for your money out there. I play in servers hosting 28 to 32 players with no sweat and a lot of fun. It's a tough sim to master as it's not your usual run-n'-gun shooter. This sim is loosely based on the original Operation Flashpoint but with much better graphics. OFP-DR is a team based game. Rambos are quickly dealt with while the team players usually succeed. Give this sim a chance and come join us. We're not hard to find.
Pros: Installed easily. Worked on first boot. Ran the DVD driver install that came with the card although I already had the latest ATI drivers on desktop. The quality is good. Sapphire did a nice job with a cooler that works! The card's fan is quiet even at the default 50%. I could not hear the fan until I set it around 66%. At 100% it sounds like a 120mm case fan. The nice thing is you do not have to run it anywhere near 100%. I ran all the stress tests I could find and never saw it go above 60C. Idles at 34.5 @50% fan. Excellent batch of connections including 2 DVI connectors and an HDMI connector. CCC overclocked it from 850 to 945 and 1200 to 1205. I would have tried for a bit more, but I did see a few artifacts when gaming. Nothing serious or disruptive. I suspect those will go away when the latest ATI driver is installed.
Cons: The previously mentioned minor artifacts after O/C. But again that could be the driver.
Overall Review: Replaced an ASUS 4870 512mb card which ONLY lasted 1 year, used tons of power and would heat up a 3 bedroom home. (So much for the "name brands"). I'm glad ATI finally got away from the high heaters. I'm very pleased so far with the Sapphire and the fact that I'm no longer cranking out massive kilowatt hours as the card sits idle or generating a ton of heat during high activity. If there's any real difference in the two cards graphically, I haven't seen it yet. The 5770 performs very well... is quiet and does a great job for me in gaming and was a heck of a lot less expensive! Thinking about another one in crossfire.
NEWEGG got the job done again with prompt shipping... Thanks
Pros: Plug the unit into an open USB slot, Load the software - (2 minutes or less) and start listening and/or talking. I have fought a battle with some games not being friendly with VOIP. A friend suggested I bypass all that stuff and get a USB headset. I took his advice, glad I did. The sound quality is really nice. I swear I keep thinking I forgot to turn off my Z-5500's and plug in the headset. That's how realistic this headset sound is!
Cons: OK, nothing is perfect. These are some of the tightest fitting headphones I've ever head. So if your head is a little on the large size, just be prepared to suffer a little discomfort after about 45 minutes to an hour of gaming or whatever. I store them at night spread open hoping that they will loosen up. No luck yet. The volume control is a little funky and not real handy in a hurry. It works, though and has several necessary functions. Certainly not a deal-breaker.
Overall Review: Overall, I can recommend these simply because they do exactly what the manufacturer says they will. They appear to be well built and the sound is well above average in quality and those that I talk to online say the mic sounds great. It solved my problem of a working microphone, now if I can just shrink my head a little bit.
