Good so far

ASUS A8 Series 14.0" Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 1GB Memory DDR2 667 Windows XP Professional 90NKNA513134321L201T
ASUS A8 Series 14.0" Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 1GB Memory DDR2 667 Windows XP Professional 90NKNA513134321L201T

Pros: Fast...ran Company of Heroes flawlessly Feels pretty solid. Good value for what you get. 1 DIMM memory for easy upgrade. Alot of USB ports. Doesn't get too hot. High resolution screen. Not too much bloatware. Pretty quiet.

Cons: Speakers kind of stink. Vertical viewing angles can be rough. Lightscribe logo on desktop tricked me into buying lightscribe disks..lol. No bluetooth option like some other resellers.

Overall Review: So far it is solid. Runs alot cooler than I thought it would run, even while working it hard with COH. My only complaint so far was with UPS and how they left it on the front porch in the rain after I called to say I would pick it up. You'd think someone would have to sign for a $1500 item. I mentioned it to newegg while calling about another matter and they took $20 off for my complaint. At least they take care you.

Most Critical Review

Two DOAs in a Row

Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CT2KIT51264BC1339
Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CT2KIT51264BC1339

Pros: I gave this two stars since I have another set of the same memory in a 2010 i7 MacBook Pro. It works fine and the first set worked. I bought that back in December. Newegg was good with the returns.

Cons: Bought more for a 2011 i7 MacBook Pro. Two DOA sets in a row. Based on the similar feedback from others, this second set is going back for a refund. I am going to consider another brand rather than wait for another set of chips I'll just have to RMA for a third time.

Overall Review: It is too bad another brand that used to be considered one of the better bets in the industry is apparently falling off.

Great Product

Rosewill RX-358 U3C SLV - Silver External 3.5" Hard Drive Enclosure - Aluminum & Plastic, SATA I / II, USB 3.0 & eSATA
Rosewill RX-358 U3C SLV - Silver External 3.5" Hard Drive Enclosure - Aluminum & Plastic, SATA I / II, USB 3.0 & eSATA

Pros: Great enclosure. I also have one of the USB2.0/eSata enclosures and there was no question on which one to get when I needed another. Easy to pop the drive in, screw everything together and off you go. Fan keeps things nice and cool. A lot of times getting something other than USB connectivity jacks up the price, but not with these.

Cons: Lights are a bit bright. If I have it on at night in my office down the hall, I need to close the door or else the hallway is blue. Wish I could shut them off at least.

So far, so good

YAMAHA RX-V867 7.2-Channel Digital Network Home Theater Receiver
YAMAHA RX-V867 7.2-Channel Digital Network Home Theater Receiver

Pros: Great price from Newegg. Shipped fast and arrived with minimal damage to the box. The AVR was nicely secured inside. So far, everything works as advertised. Preouts, while I haven't tested them yet, are what sold me on this AVR over the others in the ~$500 price range. No one else includes them at this price and Yamaha removed them from the 671 for 2011. In the next year I'll add a separate amp to kick things up. The Vtuner is great for streaming some music, same with Pandora. I have it connected to a TrendNet wireless media adapter and it worked right away. Tons of features for this price, many which I'll probably never use, but they are there. Linked up with AirMusic on my iPod Touch immediately. iPod Touch Remote is also a neat feature, although it could control more. Another note is that the Yamaha is in a closed cabinet where I was worried about heat. There isn't much room on either side, but the Yamaha has never been more than "warm" after hours of use

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: Glad I made this the centerpiece of my growing home theater setup.
