Pros: Solid memory with heat spreaders that are not too tall. I was able to overclock these quite a bit, awesome Samsung B-die memory works very well. I tried at various clock speeds using DRAM Calculator 1.7 (4000, 3866, 3733, 3600) and the best results for me were to set them at 3600MHz, CL14 at 1.38v. I followed all the DRAM Calculator settings for 'Fast' timings and it worked like a champ in my MSI X570 MPG Gaming motherboard. YMMV
Cons: Can't think of too many. Guess I wish it were cheaper, but not complaining for the performance I was able to achieve
Overall Review: Highly recommend, especially if you can get these on sale. Forget about using 4000MHz CL19 speeds.
Even though that is fast, you can do better - much better. Start with that timing from the XMP profile, but then tune these to run much faster by doing some research online and put in some time to tune and test them. Worth it!
Pros: - RGB lights work well, the remote is a nice touch as well
- Plenty of room for large video cards and ATX motherboards
- Cable management was a breeze
- Cooling is actually quite good (as you would expect from 4 x 120mm fans)
- Fan controller also a nice touch for the price - 3 speeds
Cons: - Proprietary RGB hub, cannot tie in with motherboard (at least not that I can see), probably not a problem as the remote can program easier than BIOS or an application from the motherboard manufacturer. However, if you also have RGB RAM or other components, then you have to manage them separately
Overall Review: I would buy again, especially if you can get it on sale. Remains to be seen if it will last but so far it is a very good buy in my book
Pros: -Great looking case, RGB in front is nice and not overbearing.
-Easy to work in, lots of space
-Price was right, lots of value for the price
Cons: -There is a flap in the back of the case that you need to open up to route wires from the back to front. It took me awhile to figure out how to open it. There are two latches (top and bottom) AND A SCREW. I finally realized the screw needed to be backed out before it would swing open.
Overall Review: I would buy again, but the crease in the front panel may or may not be your cup of tea. I like it!
Pros: I have had this gem of a USB thumb drive for over 3 years now and it still works flawlessly. I use it quite a bit for building PC's and transferring files. Solid construction and good speed.
Cons: Kinda small so it is easy to misplace it, but not really a con - I just had to type something here ;-)
Overall Review: Best USB drive I have ever had, and I have had a few. For the price you can't beat it
Pros: Product arrived well packaged in very good condition and has Samsung memory (a pleasant surprise). Did not show any significant signs of use. It runs very well, as a Vega 56 should. With some fan fine-tuning and a little undervolt, the noise from the fan is not bad at all.
Cons: Vega video cards are finicky and can be a pain to install and set up properly. Would like it if they were more 'plug and play'. Wattman works but I prefer MSI Afterburner. Either way, you have to play with the settings to get it to run well and not overheat or sound like a jet engine. For me, it is worth the effort.
Overall Review: I would definitely recommend. Should be good for years to come. It is even $10 cheaper now than when I bought it - go for it!
Pros: Got this for less than $350 with 10% off code, could not be happier. Came with Samsung memory and runs like a champ. It also has the Nano PCB board, which means it will use less power. It does use less power than my other Vega 56, so it is nice to have that as well. The triple fans also do a GREAT job of cooling it.
Cons: The card is very long, despite the short PCB board due to the triple fan cooler. Make sure you will have enough room for it. The look is not my favorite, but that is a personal preference. Also, my other Vega 56 has a light bank to show rpm-style load on the GPU which I like - this one does not have one
Overall Review: I thought that my card might have been used because there were no caps in the video out ports and no plastic protector on the slot that goes into the motherboard. Maybe they just skipped that as a waste to reduce cost? Anyway, I would definitely recommend this card if you can find it for $370 or less. A great buy and especially if you can get one with Samsung memory like I did
Pros: -Runs cool, overclocks like a champ, will run on one 8-pin power cable alone if you don't overclock it. Nice, firm backplate. $30 rebate is nice as well.
Cons: -Somewhat large/heavy, but not a big deal at all
Overall Review: I have 3 mining rigs and I just bought this to finish off the 3rd rig and I can overclock the memory to the moon! I am amazed at how easily this beast mines while undervolted. I am getting over 31Mh/s and I haven't seen any memory hardware errors at over 2170 undervolted! Easily the best RX 580 I have, with Sapphire Pulse a close 2nd. Amazing. And the fan only runs at 31% to maintain GPU temp at 60c. I wish I had bought more but they are sold out now :-(
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an RX580 GPU. I could not be happier with mine
Pros: CPU is a beast, server RAM that is required is cheaper than standard desktop RAM. These workstations are very reliable and built to last forever with high reliability. Buy with confidence, and this CPU will not become obsolete any time soon!
Cons: CPU fan does not dynamically speed up and slow down with CPU temps, even though it has PWM pin. I googled this and HP forums basically stated that you can speed up the fan in BIOS, but that is permanent. The good news is the XEON CPU can take a ton of heat and still be within tolerances, but it is strange that such a high-end workstation will not have such a basic feature
Overall Review: Mine came with hyperthreading turned off (?!). I was a little disturbed that I *only* got 7.7 out of 7.9 in WEI and low 10,000's in PassMark CPU score until I figured out only 6 threads were running. Quick check in BIOS and I fixed this. Also, mine had network security turned on and something called AMT (for IT folks to remotely access your PC), which affected boot and installation of a new SSD. If you are not comfortable browsing and editing BIOS settings, then you may want to keep looking. You don't know what you are going to get from these that are pulled from company leases
Overall VERY pleased with my purchase. Added an SSD, GTX 970 and upped the RAM to 32GB and it is a screaming beast!
Pros: Very good bang for the buck. FM2 motherboards are also not expensive, so you can build a very cheap and very capable PC with this CPU. Powerful enough to not be a bottleneck unless you are running heavy CPU intensive applications like video rendering
Cons: This baby runs very hot. Stock cooler is marginal, at best. If you put this in a mini case with a mini-ITX motherboard like I did, you will be sorry. The heat will be too much for it and there is precious little room for an aftermarket CPU cooler that would be necessary to keep it cool. My fault for not researching better before I bought it
Overall Review: I would definitely recommend this, but make sure you have adequate cooling to let it run wide open
Pros: I bought 4 of these to upgrade some older laptops I had lying around. I also had 2 other 120gb SSD's that I used for 2 other upgrades. The write speed of the Kingston drives while imaging was significantly better than the other 120gb SSD's. I was very impressed with the speeds and reliability so far. I have had other Kingston SSD's and never had a problem. For the price, these are a definite buy
Cons: No extras included, just the drive in plastic shell case. However, that is fine for me as I just plugged them in to replace old 2.5" laptop spinning discs that were slower than molassas
Overall Review: Highly recommended, would buy again
Pros: This monitor has great color, clarity and contrast. I have probably 8 different monitors in my house and this one compares very well with the best of them. 1080p and it looked like it was new! I am very, very impressed and wished I had bought more
Cons: So the bezel is not actually as small as stated due to 'virtual' space that is not used by the LED panel. This is such a small thing to me it does not warrant an egg deduction. I still think the panel and bezel look amazing and for the price, just shut it already! Yes, it lacks HDMI input and on a 1080p monitor that should be there, but for the price I am good with that.
Overall Review: No speakers is a two-edged sword. Usually, they are junk and you don't end up using them anyway. Just be aware that there are none built in. No biggie. Overall, this is a must buy if you want an above average monitor at a bargain price. I will be buying more for my PC builds - I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing a good 1080p 22" monitor.
Pros: Delivered quickly and worked great out of the box. It looked like it was new to me, very good condition. This is a great value and an awesome keyboard for remotely operating PC's on a TV screen because it has the keyboard and mouse integrated into the same keyboard.
Cons: Touchpad can be a little sensitive. Touching the touchpad one time firmly gives you a mouse click, which you don't want sometimes. Be gentle and it works fine. If you have jittery fingers then you will hate this keyboard. Just ask my Father-in-law that has the shakes!
Overall Review: I had trouble finding the USB receiver as others have noted, until I looked under the battery cover. Whew!
I have 4 of these in use with Android TV-boxes, Kodi PC's, and a MAME arcade. All are wonderful and a great value, especially refurbished from Newegg
Pros: This drive has a fabulous price-to-performance ratio. It is not the fastest SSD but it is certainly fast enough and well above average. The fact that it includes free disk cloning software (Acronis True Image 2013) is just icing on the cake.
Cons: The registration process for the Acronis disk cloning software took too long, too many steps and was confusing
Overall Review: I upgraded from a Crucial M500 250gb drive on my son's gaming rig that was getting full to this one with the Acronis True Image 2013 software. Once I was able to get the software registered and installed with the key things went very well. I initially tried to clone with Ghost, but it would not work due to the EFI boot manager on the Crucial drive. Acronis did the trick! Feels faster now and I was able to set aside 20gb as an overprovision area and now have plenty of room to spare for a long time to come. I have had other AData SSD drives and they have lasted years without any problems for me. Would definitely recommend!
Pros: Initially it worked fine and provided a better signal for my upstairs devices. Setup was relatively easy, although the WPS button didn't do the trick for me and my router (ASUS)
Cons: Stopped working after about 2 weeks. Devices could connect to it and appeared to have internet access but would time out on anything going to the WEB. Emailed tech support and got a cryptic response after 3 days. Emailed again asking for more clarification and they requested a phone number to call, which I supplied to them. Never got a call and then my case was closed!
Overall Review: I factory reset the device and set it up from scratch twice to no avail. Same thing - devices connect but no access to internet. All the lights on it indicate it is connected to the router, with access and devices are connected to it. Ended up just throwing it out. Very disappointed
Pros: Nice looking case with USB 3.0 support, good ventilation, plenty of room. SSD mounting was a breeze and screwless brackets are nice, too. Cable management is one of the best in this price range. I was able to tuck everything behind the case without it getting bound up too much. I also really like the glossy white paint, which looks and feels high end.
Cons: USB 3.0 port on mine did not work. May be the motherboard, may be the case
Overall Review: I did not find the case to be flimsy at all as others have stated. Once you mount everything is is solid and looks nice. I added two 120mm fans to increase airflow and temps are very reasonable despite have a 125w CPU and high end graphics card in it. Would buy again in a heartbeat
Pros: Lots of fans, great airflow, integrated SD/microSD card reader. Looks good if you are a fan of the color green. Cable management is actually pretty good with the exception of a spot to route the 8-pin CPU power connector under the motherboard.
Cons: I am not a big fan of the door to get at the DVD drive bays from the front. Also, the fan controller did not work for me. I will have to get back into the case to see if maybe the 4-pin MOLEX connector got loose or something. SD card insertion was a tight fit at first, but works fine
Overall Review: This is not a LARGE case, but is big enough for an ATX motherboard and long video card. It is not enough for SLI/Crossfire setup but is a good choice for a single GPU gaming PC. I would recommend it as long as you like the color green
Pros: Small but with lots of features. WIFI works AMAZING. Speeds are incredible. This thing performs on par with my full size, full featured Z97 motherboard from ASUS. Great value
Cons: none to speak of
Overall Review: Just buy it. With rebate it is a steal, and ASRock actually pays their rebates, too
Pros: Low price, WIFI-N support, small size, big value. This WIFI adapter works and works well and the price is just ridiculous for what you get. May not run at 300Mbs, but for what you pay, who is griping? And who really gets 300Mbs throughput from a USB WIFI adapter, anyway? Just buy it!
Cons: plastic packaging is a bit tough to get into. That is all!
Overall Review: Love these for easy setup and good connectivity. You won't be disappointed
Pros: Great price after rebate, good performance and a very solid warranty backed by Toshiba (who purchased OCZ).
Cons: no 2.5" to 3.5" adapter included, short window for rebate (21 days)
Overall Review: I have installed several of these in builds since late 2014 and have been very pleased with them all. Not a single issue and very good performance for these drives. It is not the fastest SSD, but it is close to top of the line and for the price it is a great value. I would definitely recommend
Pros: Price, quiet operation, small footprint. This is a great replacement for an Android miniTV that was unreliable and slow for my needs. This also includes wired networking, USB 3.0, and I could throw in a 32gb SSD I had laying around to speed things up. I love it!
Cons: heat, but not an issue so far. It does get hot but as long as you have it properly mounted in the cradle the heat dissipation is good
Overall Review: To the reviewer stating that there is an issue with openelec 5.0, I have been using this with openelec 5.0.0 since early January without an issue. Perhaps you need to update your repositories or add-ons. Worked for me
Pros: Great cooling, superb design, relatively easy to install. Also has a small footprint and fits in cases/tight spots easier than others without blocking RAM slots
Cons: price without rebate? If you can afford it, go for it!
Overall Review: Got is cheap with rebate and am thinking Zalman may be my new 'go to' CPU cooler. Very happy with this!
Pros: I like the look and the price was right. Having 2x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0 ports on front is a nice touch. Also having 2x 120mm fans AND a SD memory card reader for the price paid was a real plus
Cons: Case is smaller than it looks. It was a tight fit for a small motherboard. A full size motherboard has no chance of going in this case. The airflow is sub-par as well, even with the 2x 120mm fans. Not enough air moves through it to cool a gaming PC. Good for casual use, but not a gamer case
Overall Review: As long as you don't need a ton of room or above average cooling, it is a decent case with good feature set. It was a bit of a disappointment for me, though
Pros: Works like a champ in Win 7 64-bit. Gets excellent reception in my basement with the router upstairs on the other side of the house. High gain antenna works well. No drops or issues with installing the driver. No extra WIFI management software installed without asking me, either. Thank you!
Cons: USB extension cable is not very useful unless you want to have the adapter lying on top of your desk or on your PC. A base would be a more elegant solution, but for less than ten bucks I am not complaining
Overall Review: Great value, Rosewill delivers again.
Pros: Good computing power, only 1 PCI-E connector required, very good cooling design, overclocks fairly well
Cons: Pretty long card, but what card of any worth is not? The fan speed is capped at 75%. Not an issue for me, as the temp maxes out at 66 degrees and fan speed is only 70% on my custom fan curve with MSI Afterburner
Overall Review: This sucker moves heat out of the case VERY well. On benchmark/burnin tests when it is maxed out the temp never goes above 66 degrees and the fan does not get too loud. If I put my hand behind the case next to the fan output there is a ton of heat getting moved out. I have never felt as much heat getting pushed out in a video card as this one (this is a pro - get it out and keep the chip cool). Performance is good, on par with Radeon 7850. WEI was 7.8 stock and 7.9 with a mild overclock
Pros: Drive arrived quickly from Newegg, very well packaged, installed without a hitch as 3TB (GBR), formatted, copied about 1.5TB of data to it, done. It just works. Been running over a week now. Quiet operation, fast access times - what is not to love?
Cons: None to speak of
Overall Review: For the price (just a touch over $100) you cannot go wrong with this drive. Yes, it is a Hitachi drive labeled as Toshiba. So what? Hitachi makes good drives, too. Definitely recommend!
