My first 360
Pros: Apparently an Elite box, but have seen some conflicting reports on whether its true. I'm a PS3 guy who has been addicted to Uncharted two right up until I received my 360. Haven't stopped playing CoD yet and looking forward to L4D2. The system runs well xBox Live beats out PS3 ten folds. Great value, especially if you don't already have a 360. Most people looking to upgrade from an Arcade, not sure if it's worth it. Very happy with CoD, probably the most addictive game I've played in a very long time!
Cons: CDROM's a bit loud, but with the 5.1DTS turned up, you can't hear it... Wish the wireless controllers were more like the PS3 controllers. ie: Rechargeable and includes a usb cable to play on when the controller goes dead, but minor if anything... Although I'm glad the unit comes with a standard HDMI port, really disapointed the unit didn't at least come with HD component cables. Again, minor since I had a cheap HDMI laying around that works perfectly...
Overall Review: Being that this is my first 360, I'm very satisfied with the product and it's value. I was an 1st gen xbox Halo fiend and switched to PS3 a while back. With CoD and L4D2 (soon) I think the PS3 is going to start collecting a little dust.
Pros: Great picture, lots of inputs. Comes fully assembled (no trying to install a stand on a 60 lb panel) Xbox 360 looks amazing on it. Previously used an LG 42" 1080p 60 hz LCD. Can see the difference when playing MW2. Haven't tried the BD player yet, but plan to very soon.
Cons: No pass thru of Dolby to the Optical out. Called LG and they said everything comes out of the optical at PCM 48hz. So far everything seems to sound good, but my receiver is of the older variety. May need to invest in a newer receiver... Menu doesn't have as many options as the older LG models did. Not sure how much of a con that is at this point...
Overall Review: Great value for a fully backlit LED LCD with local dimming. Besides the local TV store, I've never really seen a Samsung LED but have heard they are a little better then the LG. For me, the extra money isn't worth the minor gain with the Samsung. I don't need a TV that's only a inch and a half thick... Just my thoughts.
Pros: Beautifu look. Put it in an HAF932. Install was easy. Another great DFI product!
Cons: DFI never responded to a tech support email I sent to them. Ended up asking someone local for some help.
Overall Review: Had some issues with the bios when I first built the system. Was probably my fault. Tried to put some DDR3 that wasn't on the compatible list on DFI's website. After I encountered the problem, I bailed on the rest of the build until the proper RAM finally came in. Put the system together, installed W7 64bit and seemed to keep getting a error from the motherboard after post. Re flashed the bios and everything cleared up.
