An Absolute Dream to Work With - Excellent X470 Motherboard

Pros: - Reinforced PCIE Slots for Heavy GPU - On-board Wireless AC - Overall Quality - Aesthetically Pleasing Appearance
Cons: - None
Overall Review: I've noticed a negative comment or two concerning the motherboard build quality and DDR4 slot issues. I didn't encounter any issue with either. As a matter of fact, I found this board to be one of the easiest I've had to work with. The build quality is excellent. All motherboard parts and pieces arrived, and were in excellent condition out of the box. I plugged an AMD R7 2700x in the AM4 Slot and did not overclock it nor do I have any intention of doing so as it's already FAST. I purchased and installed a 16 GB G.Skill Flare X series DDR4 3200 kit into the motherboard. The one sided locking mechanism of the RAM slots work as advertised and holds the modules firmly in place. Just be sure to properly seat each module into the slots, it can be tight. My ASUS GTX 1080ti fits snugly into the reinforced PCIE slot with no noticeable drooping of the video card. This was a concern albeit an unfounded one. I am on water cooling but there is enough space around the AM4 slot to handle the largest of air coolers, at least IMHO. Everything fired up second try as I had to re-seat one of the RAM modules to get the motherboard to recognize the full 16GB. But that's my fault for being in a hurry, oops. Once I solved that minor issue everything ran fine. I did have an issue with the BIOS reporting abnormally HIGH temps, 95 degrees C. However, that's not the motherboards fault as this is common with the AMD R7 misreporting the correct temps. Use HWinfo for a better reflection of what the actual temp is. I wish someone had previously mentioned this little tid-bit of information in one of the reviews as I immediately went into panic mode. Google the temperature issue for more details. BIOS setup was super easy. There was a BIOS update available which I copied on a USB stick and re-flashed the board. No issues there, easy day. Note, there are an abundance of settings for those of you who wish to overclock in manual mode. I picked this motherboard because my normal go-to company ASxx, has let me down in the past with quality issues. I've heard good things About ASRock which ultimately drove my purchase decision. This is not a paid endorsement nor does it have anything to do with a rebate program. I can and will attest to the veracity of this review as it reflects my experience assembling my latest computer build. I would definitely purchase this board again and will recommend it to my friends.
Great RAM Works with X470

Pros: - Low Latency - X470 Chip Set Compatibility - Speed
Cons: - Expensive
Overall Review: I had my doubts when purchasing this set of RAM as it states that it is compatible with the X370 chip set and no mention of the newer X470 chip set. No worries though when it arrived as the packaging states that it will work on the X470. And it did. I paired this set with an ASRock X470 AM4 Taichi motherboard and a AMD R7 2700x. Booted up right away. I had to make a quick speed change in the BIOS to make it run at 3200. No problems encountered at ll. I would definitely recommend this product to those building a new AMD X470 system as it runs flawlessly and is amazingly fast. I'm very satisfied.
Great Case With One Small Issue

Pros: Size - Case is huge Quality - The case is definitely high quality Aesthetics - Pleasing to look Great cable management features
Cons: No basement Broken fan, minus 1 egg, reason below
Overall Review: I hate shipping computer cases because they always get beat up in transit. This or that is always broken upon receipt. I live relatively close to newegg so I decided to brave the LA traffic and do a will-call pick up on all components for my new build. The Corsair case box that I was given was pristine, not a dent or tear in the outer carton. Took everything home, and did a container inventory. The case itself was in great shape and all the parts and pieces were in a separate box tidily placed in one of the storage bays. When I took the front cover off I noticed that one of the 140mm fans had a missing/broken blade. The broken blade itself was not in the computer case nor was it in the outer shipping box. It appears that the broken fan with the missing fan blade was assembled into the case at the factory. Why would you do that Corsair? Grab a good fan to replace the broken one, then install it before shipping it out. Minus one egg for lack of QC. Other than that, this case is outstanding. Plenty of room, and quality build. I would buy this case again, and would also recommend it to friends.
