Couldn't be happier
Pros: Price. Over Clocks like a champ. Fast.
Cons: Only with two games, Civ 5 and Tribes: Ascend have a few issues. Tribes I'm pretty sure is because of the multiple cores, and Civ 5 might be because I'm using an Nvidia card when this system works best with a Radeon. Not sure about that one... runs Guild Wars 2 and SKYRIM perfectly though, so that's all I really care about ;)
Overall Review: Having owned this for several months now, I am pleased to say this processor is amazing. From first installation my ASUS Sabertooth automatically overclocked it to 4.2 Ghz. It never over heats (thanks to Corsair H100 liquid cooling system). Never experienced any crashing. Extremely happy.
Powerful little machine!
Pros: -Size of a console, but more powerful. -Small power supply. -Fast, boots fully in about 3 seconds. -Little to no bloatware.
Cons: -Hard to get a second hard drive in. Could be easier I feel. Basically have to take the entire thing apart as the SSD slot is located on the bottom of the unit, and no easy access.
Overall Review: -Would be nice if USB C output was on the graphics card. Not a con, just wishful thinking. -I don't trust the vertical stand, but it does look nice. I am totally not using the full power of this device, and I kinda wish I was, but I have a full desktop for hard core gaming. This machine is console sized so its PERFECT as an emulation machine. Handles 3D games (PS2, Gamecube, N64, Xbox, Dreamcast) with ease. Definitely have to add more space for a lot of games, which is NOT EASY sadly. Overall though, the perfect little Launchbox machine!
Best monitor I've ever owned
Pros: 144hz 1ms Colors are great Extra goodies (Mouse dongle, cam rail) Nice USB placement Sweet RGB and of course the SIZE. Ultrawide beauty! Make sure you have the space for it.
Cons: HDR400 is pretty terrible, turn it off.
Overall Review: I've owned many monitors in my lifetime and this is by far the greatest of them all. Anytime I have guests over they are blown away by it, even when its not on. Thankfully no dead pixels for me, or any other issues. I wish the HDR was better, but then the monitor would have cost MUCH more, and its already pricey.
Super low latency +HDR, amazing!
Pros: HDR works! HDCP works! (with "the cats" 4k capture card, had to turn it off for it to work) Latency so low that you don't necessarily need a 2nd display.
Cons: One thing I wish it had compared to "the cats" 4k capture card, which I also own, is a streaming mode. So you can use the recording program as well as a secondary program (such as streaming OSB/Xsplit) while its in use.
Overall Review: I am glad I got this to improve my streaming and recording. The other card I have is from its competitor, which I only got because they had a 4k Capture card first. This one is much better though, HDR, super low latency, RGB lights if that matters to you, and no HDCP hang-ups. I have been on a kick of installing HDMI cards/ports into my retro consoles and they are all working great with this card. I don't even need a secondary monitor to output too.
My second review, after dealing with RMA
Pros: -144hz -G-Sync -Colors look better than my original product? -No more back-light bleeding. -3 Year Warranty -Nice size, amazing mount. Something happened during the RMA process that completely reversed all negative thoughts I had on this screen. But how long will it last? After I sent it in for repair (My old review will be in the "other section") this monitor suddenly is very amazing. The colors got much better, the G-sync is working flawlessly again. All the oddities my screen was being effected with are gone. It's not only like its brand new, but its better than when I first received it. Especially in the colors. Grey-scale uniformity seems rather good. The colors pop when previously they were dull. No more back light bleeding. The 3-year warranty really came in handy here. I didn't have any issues with the RMA forms online and talking with tech support via e-mail. Fast responses. Were quick to take me in and repair it.
Cons: I'm afraid it's going to break again! Repair sent it back disassembled in several pieces, so I had to put it back together. Wasn't too hard, but I did find it odd. Shipping from Ohio to Cali was $75 dollars via UPS. Not covered by ASUS.
Overall Review: I went from 2 stars to 4, and was debating 3. I decided on 4 because the RMA crew I think performed a miracle and delivered me what this product should have been from the start. So kudos to them. Still, can't give 5 stars because I had to go through with this to begin with. My previous review, "Was great while it was working" starting from cons "Cons: -Colors aren't great -Back Light bleeding -right 2/3rd of the screen developed an issue where text would appear smudged, not too noticeable in gaming, unless there was text. - G Sync stopped working, would cause the screen to flicker. - Died completely after a year of very light use. Other Thoughts: I barely used this monitor, and it still died. I sent out a support ticket, and from what I hear about ASUS support... well, let's hope I get lucky." I did get lucky!
Installed perfectly - no issues
Pros: Life Time Warranty. For this alone I have been using G.Skill for my last build, and current build. Also slightly cheaper than the other brands, yet I see no performance difference.
Cons: N/A
Overall Review: i7 6700K, Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero Alpha Motherboard, ASUS STRIX 980ti x2 in SLI, 16GB DDR4 @ 3200Mhz, Samsung EVO 850 500GB SSD, WB Black 5TB HDD, LG Bluray Burner, Corsair HX1200i PSU, Corsair H115i Liquid CPU Cooler, Corsair 750D Airflow Edition Case outfitted with Noctua 140mm 2000RPM fans. Win 10 Home.
Product worked - but used?
Fast shipping, product worked, by was either sitting around for a long time, or was used. Was a bit dirty. Didn't say if it was used or new in item description. But it was cheap, so I don't exactly care.
