Awesome pure sine UPS5/27/2015 9:41:03 PM

Pros: Works great, cyberpower quality, computer with high efficiency power supply no longer shuts off when power goes out like it did when I was using a standard non sine wave UPS.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I have 3 other cyber power normal 1500 ups' that i bought almost 5 years ago at this point. They are all still in operation. The only reason I replaced one of them with this one is a build a computer using a new high efficiency power supply that powers off on non sine way type UPS. I didn't know that at the time when i built the computer that is was going to be a problem, but after doing some research I found out a lot of the better efficiency power supplies won't work if they don't have sine wave power. I bought this one on sale for very little more than the standard cyberpower ups. I could not be happier.

Very fast drive sry only lasted 2 years 4 months just after warranty ran out9/4/2014 6:36:30 AM

Pros: Fast, cheap

Cons: Broke just after 2 year warranty ran out.

Overall Review: I had always heard bad things about these drives, but I figured that so many years later segate drives were probably up to the same level as the others, but I have never had a WD or samsung fail before 4+ years of heavy use. I think these drives are fine for data storage, but if you use it as your boot drive and you use the computer a lot, this drive is probably not for you. Unless you don't mind buying a new drive every few years and losing all your data. Is was in a mid tower case with a lot of cooling as well, so it's not like the drive got really hot all the time. I really can't believe it only had a 2 yr warranty and now I have to just throw it in the garbage. Thanks Seagate.

Works great5/15/2014 8:42:23 AM

Pros: Works great

Cons: The light on the front is very bright and always on. The solution is a small piece of electrical tape. I have done this on several devices in my living room that are too bright in a dark environment. It's not rocket science people. I don't know why people post bad reviews for simple things that are a quick fix.

Best budget AMD board out there2/27/2013 6:34:21 AM

Pros: Very nice board with USB 3.0. I have built 5 of these for gaming machines coupled with the AMD 965BE bargain processor and they have all worked out perfect. Gskill ripjaw has been very compatible with this board as well for reasonable ram and a very reasonable build cost. Stick a good video card with it and for the money this setup cannot be beat.

Cons: none

Overall Review: I fear the day when this board will no longer be available as it has been around for a while now. I am thinking about stockpiling a few more of these and 965BE chips since for a gamer, these are better than the new AMD chips since you will want to run a dedicated video care anyway and for so much processor for so little money, this setup cannot be beat. My HTPC in the living room with the AMD 965 and the same video card as my computer room i7 that is over clocked to 4Ghz run within 1fps on games. Of course, for video conversion or photo shop the i7 wins hands down over the amd processor, but for gaming, there is no reason to pay the premium for an i7, or even an i5 for that matter. The AMD is no slouch at video conversion, but for gaming there is no reason to go Intel, unless you have more money than you know what to do with. Piece a couple of systems together and see for yourself, you can save a couple of hundred dollars over the Intel chips and have the same gaming performance. It's a no brainer.

Very good monitor1/5/2013 6:39:54 AM

Pros: Looks great, colors good, very bright, was a steal with the instant rebate that was going on around xmas. No dead pixels, no flickering, and not very much light bleed like some of them have around the bottom especially (good contrast ratio)

Cons: Non tilt base, button placement and menu operation. It never took me so lone on a new monitor to figure out how to navigate the menus and turn the brightness down a little bit.

Overall Review: For the price, I have never found another one that looked this good, and I have bought 4 different brands and models besides this one. This will be my go to suggestion for the future as long as newegg still stocks it.

Still the best bang for your buck1/5/2013 6:31:34 AM

Pros: Very good for the price.

Cons: Fan it comes with is terrible but the fan that comes with the i7 is also terrible so I wouldn't use the stock intel fan on an i7 either. Get an after market fan for better cooling and quiet.

Overall Review: Have 2 systems with exact same video card, a GTX 470. One is a 965 Black edition at stock 3.4Ghz, the other is an intel i7 920 overclocked to 4Ghz. Heaven 3.0 benchmark basic both at 1920x1080 at the stock benchmark settings. The AMD does 50.1 FPS average and the Intel system does 51.1 fps average. To build an Intel gaming system today to run the same speed as the AMD you will spend about $200 more. Unless you are doing serious number crunching like video conversion or a lot of high end CS6 apps, save your money. If you want a great gaming pc and normal windows tasks like internet, email, music, ect, but the 965 or 965 black edition and never look back. Your wallet will thank you. This is far superior to the Intel if you look at system price vs performance.

Very nice card1/5/2013 6:21:00 AM

Pros: Very Fast and good for the money at the moment. See benchmarks in other thoughts.

Cons: Size. Very long card and the plastic shroud extends past the heat pipes farther than necessary. Thought I was going to have to take a dremel and trim the plastic shroud off a 1/2" but coming in at the right angle and once I made it to the slot and the ports out the back, it had 1/4" clearance. I used the rosewill challanger black gaming case Item #: N82E16811147153 and it was tight but it will fit barely. And this is a good size case.

Overall Review: When I bought it there was a $40 instant rebate so it made it a very good deal and much faster than the cards that come in only $30 less than what I paid like the GTX 650ti I was looking at. Ran Heaven 3.0 basic benchmark at stock settings at 1920x1080 and got 65.1 FPS average vs my GTX 470 at 50.1 with the exact same setup on a AMD 965 Black edition and stock settings of 3.4 Ghz. Never heard the fans on the card change sound and it is very quiet with the 2 fans. FYI, i also have a gtx 470 in an i7 920 that is overclocked to 4Ghz and it only got 51.1 FPS average at the same settings than the AMD 965 at 3.4Ghz. If you are not needing to do video editing or other CPU number crunching intensive programs and are building a computer for standard internet stuff and gaming, save your money and get the 965BE,best bang for your buck by far. Just upgrade from the stock fan to a xigmatech SD1283 because the stock fan that comes with the amd965 is not very good and it is very noisy and cheap. I don't know why they extended the plastic an extra 1/2" past the end of the heat pipes. I guess to make it easier to put together, but it make is a tight fit in even a spacious case.

Works well, especially for the deal i got with rebate12/7/2012 10:56:27 AM

Pros: Good deal for 32GB usb drive. USB 3.0 15GB file Write speed 27MB/sec Read Speed 66MB/sec USB 2.0 15GB file Write speed 18MB/sec Read Speed 31MB/sec

Cons: Not as fast at expected when comparing to usb 3.0 hard drives. I guess the chips they use in here don't compare to a SSD drive.

Overall Review: These speeds were measured suing teracopy using a 15GB movie file. Same file using my USB 3.0 external 2TB hatachi touro Write 76MB/sec and read 79MB/sec.

Awesome case for the price8/1/2012 3:06:56 PM

Pros: The price, lots of fans for good cooling, looks good.

Cons: One of the cases i bought has a fan that makes a little bit of noise guess it can be expected since the fans can't be that expensive for them to be able to sell it for a good price. Also the standoffs screw in very hard, like they power coated it after cutting the threads in the metal. Also the brass standoffs have half the amount of threads as normal ones, guess they save a lot of money on that....

Overall Review: I do think this case is the best value for your money since it comes with 3 120mm fans in it. Also the case is cutout so you can get to the back of the cpu if you want to add a better cooling fan in the future without having to take the mainboard out of it. I just did this since i thought the stock fan that came with the AMD 965BE would be good enough, then the thing was so noisy under a load that I couldn't stand it. If you don't want the blue lights in the fan at the front, the front cover pops off and you can cut the wires running out to the leds. For a HTPC in the living room this is what i did.

Works good, don't like the way it attaches8/1/2012 2:28:01 PM

Pros: Works good, as good as the Xigmatek Gaia for $10 less.

Cons: The cheesy spring screw setup is a PITA to install and feels flimsy. Took twice as long to install than the Xigmatek Gaia, but i knew this going in, I only got it because it is $10 cheaper. I have used one before and hated the install that time too. They should take a look at Xigmatek Gaia and how they have there's designed. Much better way to attach the heat sink.

Overall Review: The amd fan that comes with the 965BE is very noisy under load, so noisy i couldn't stand it so this one keeps the cpu 10C cooler under stress testing and is virtually silent. Went from 56-60C running Linx to 46C with this new heatsink. Should not have tried to save $20 knowing the AMD fan they give with the CPU is cheap and noisy. Also, this works fine on the AMD processors and is made for it, newegg should change their heading that only mentions i5 and i7.

Came with US power adapter12/16/2011 5:50:12 AM

Pros: No setup, up and running in a few seconds, works as expected. Very fast switching, I see no difference running from this switch or from my cat 6 wires directly.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I needed more connections in my living room for my PS3, xbox 360, pioneer sc-5500 AVR, and my MED500X2 media player. I only had 2 CAT6 cables running through my attic from my RT-N56U router so I bought this to split one of the cables into 4 more without having to physically run more cables. Also I was out of ports on the router so this was the way to go anyway. It plugged in and worked perfect. No settings, no hassles, awesome throughput. I see no difference with it switching from one cable to 4 outputs on the switch. Remember, you lose 1 of the 5 ports on a 5 port router when you plug the wire from the router into it, so if you need more than 4, get an 8 port, then you can use 7. Since I have 2 wires running out to the living room from when I only had 2 devices that needed Ethernet, I still have another cat 6 wire that I can run another switch on, I only needed a 5 port. I run everything off from 1 line and have an extra cat 6 cable for if I get more devices.

Awesome8/23/2011 10:22:48 AM

Pros: Awesome. Best router I have ever owned and I have had about 5 different ones including one $150 gaming router from dlink which failed on me last. It can transfer data at through gigabit ethernet computer to computer at ~80MB/s which is awesome. The wireless is showing full power to all the laptops in my house where with my last one they were only at about 60-70% signal and stays at 150mbs connection with them (the highest my laptop can do) always. The router interface is graphical and is very nice as well. Not just a bunch of text to read threw for you settings. If you need a new router, buy this one, hands down. Make sure to flash it to firmware before you use it.

Cons: Does not support all all-in-one printers to use it as a print server so I am still having to share my printer on my main computer, but no big deal.

Very good heatsink for the money4/19/2011 9:00:35 PM

Pros: Keeps my AMD 1090T cool, 50c under max load on linx stress test. Can't complain when in several online reviews this cools as well as the $75 heatsiniks out there.

Cons: The rubber gromets you hook the fan to the heatsink with are a little cheesy, but they are affective.

Overall Review: Worth the money for a good heatsink at a cheap price.

works great12/27/2010 5:12:50 AM

Pros: Works perfect at rated speed and voltage. No memtest errors running 6hrs +

Cons: None

Overall Review: Originally bought the black edition memory that was supposed to be more compatible with BE processors. It would not run at rated speed. Used the reaper on 2 different builds now with no problems using an Asrock board.

Did not work without errors at rated speed12/11/2010 8:48:49 AM

Pros: Looks good, low profile

Cons: errored in less that a min when set to specified 8-8-8-24 at 1600 (800Mhz) setting. tried upping voltage and slowing down to 9-9-9 but still errored in under a min runing memtest. It also errored in prime 95 within a few mins also. This was with no overclocking of the 965black cpu. Set the ram back to auto settings in the bios for all settings which reverted it to 1066 (533mhz) and 7-7-7-16 and it ran fine in memtest for over 2 hrs and good in prime 95 for over 8 hrs. This was without overclocking the CPU which is a AMD 965 black edition.

Overall Review: I built the exact same system for another person without any issues and got it to run at 4Ghz on the 965 black without any ram problems what so ever using OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Model OCZ3RPR1600C8LV4GK. I would buy that next time and forget this stuff that is made specifically for this processor. I wish i wouldn't have done any research on the ram and just ordered the same stuff I did a few days ago. I saw that the board was actually certified to work with this ram and they didn't list the exact model ram that I bought before as compatible so I switched to this. Big mistake. The MB that i used was the ASRock 870 extreme 3. I say don't buy this ram and buy the reaper. Maybe I did just get a bad stick of this ram here, but it's funny that it works ok at it's auto setting without errors, just not up to specified speeds. I will send it back if I have anymore crashing issues with this ram and get the reaper that worked so good before.

Broke in one day9/24/2010 3:35:43 PM

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Too Cheap. Broke in one day

Overall Review: Never had a hard drive fail on me in one day, until this jewel. I got a refund and bought a black instead. Too many failures of this drive, WD should just pull it off the market and try again.

don't over tighten9/19/2010 7:59:17 AM

Pros: Cools well if you get it on without breaking the thumb screws

Cons: The directions say to tighten until it stops. Mine never stopped and just snapped off the proprietary thumbscrew. I had to dig through screws and bolts from my many computer builds. I didn't want to have to rig it up with other parts, but the company is out of Australia and they said it would be 2 weeks to send me the new part and I couldn't wait.

Overall Review: Works good, just be careful during the install not to break any thumbscrews. They are not made out of good metal and you can snap them off.

So far so good9/19/2010 7:50:41 AM

Pros: Seems like a good supply for the money. Not really taxing it yet but i bought it for a future sli upgrade. I am running a 930 i7 at 4ghz with it with a gtx 470 and it doesn't have a problem with this setup.

Cons: One of the power cords were not long enough to reach the top of the motherboard. I had to buy a molex converter to 8 pin to get it to reach the extra 6" or so that i needed. The antec 1200 case has the power supply on the bottom and the GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R has a power connector on the upper left hand corner of the board so it was just too far around to reach. If it was a case with ps on the top if would not have been a problem.

why pay so much for this4/2/2010 8:25:36 AM

Pros: Holds your 2.5 drive

Cons: It costs more than twice as much as the BYTECC Bracket-35225 2.5 Inch HDD/SSD Mounting Kit which can hold 2 - 2.5" drives.

Overall Review: Wish they would have recommended the Bytecc one instead of this one at the bottom of the page when I ordered my 2.5" SSD's

excellent case for the money1/3/2010 9:18:01 PM

Pros: I was really impressed with the case for so cheap including a power supply. So far working fine 3 months in. Built an AMD phenom II X3 710 2.6ghz AM3 with an ASRock K10N78M MB with onboard video and it is running great in this case. I feel like $54.99 with free shipping was a steal.

Cons: The case has went up $5 in price and shipping is $20 so it's not as good of a deal at $30 more than what I paid, but it is still worth considering.

Overall Review: The case dosen't need brass standoffs, the pan the mainboard screws to was pressed out with the right height so the standoffs can't be used. You just screw the mainboard directly to the pan. I thought they didn't send them also and put some in that I had only to find out that the holes are already raised up the right amount. If you put the normal brass standoffs in there, the board will be jacked up way to high.

Cannot write dvd+r DL at 2.4x and slow at detecting original dvd movie and game discs10/24/2009 11:27:13 AM

Pros: It does work, kinda.

Cons: It takes a long time to detect and read standard dvd movies and games. It cannot write at 2.4x to verbatim DL media, it defaults to 4x no matter what you select so it's not good for xbox 360 people and this is the main reason I bought the new pioneer in the first place.

Overall Review: I RMAed mine and i'm going to get a different brand.
