Pros: The loop is strong and stays on my key ring well as intended drive works well
Cons: constantly find myself bending the end back open due to it getting smashed in my pocket... unfortunately due to what a thumb drive has to be in order to work they can't really make it thicker so i'm only knocking one egg. more flexible metal at the least would have been better because it's torn on two corners now.
Overall Review: Buying another for my father i'm overall pleased.
Pros: Great blacks and color pallet
Cons: vertical viewing angle is mediocre due to backlight bleed have to be 100% level with the monitor for it to look good. this monitor is worth 280 i paid for it and nothing more, the fact that it originally retailed for 400 makes me laugh. If I had a chance to do it over again I would have got a korean monitor like I originally planned
UPDATE: After a year of ownership the top backlight is now failing, it flickers if things flash too brightly and even makes popping sounds... Bought a new monitor, gonna RMA this one and sell the replacement as soon as I get it this thing is terrible.
Overall Review: was hoping it would overclock like many other asus panels can.. even at 61 hz it drops frames
Pros: excellent software lets me do everything I could ever want to do.
The include microphone works better than any of my headset mic booms ever have
If you want all of the pros just look at their marketing material there's no need to repeat it all, it's a good product and it works
Cons: I have used 4 different headsets extensively with this card over the years I've also had it in 2 different pcs with 5-6 different configurations of hardware in each and if you don't update the drivers when prompted upon install you're going to have a bad time. the most random stuff you would never think of, such as a usb wifi card, can cause an absolute meltdown of your soundcard so have everything you'll ever use plugged in when updating drivers it will detect and do it's magic to work... Listed this because this is a bit rediculous it's just a sound card. if you install new hardware and the soundcard starts flipping out uninstall and reinstall and update.
output impedence is about 10ohms so it's best suited with headphones of at least 100 ohms (maybe not a con but something to note)
Overall Review: treble and mids are subdued with every headset i've used with this card takes a bit of eq tweaking but always turns out well
reinstillation of drivers is necessary if you change pcie slots
i've spilled coolant on it and it still works... granted my warranty now though.
Pros: It does charge my phone...
Cons: The plug isn't even the right size for the micro usb standard, it just loosely slides in to my phone and falls out, the whole reason I got a replacement to my old cable was so i could use my phone while it's charging and because of this I still can't and i'm stuck using my old cable.
Overall Review: How do you even screw up a cable?
Pros: Was able to overclock to 5.0ghz for a few hours without temps getting too crazy. was pushing 1.55V at load on an i5. My daily overclock is 4.7 @ 1.35V the board stays nice and cool at load with a 440mhz switching frequency.
The board is gorgeous matches my build quite well.
Cons: Analog VRM's makes fine tuning a high overclock a PITA but if you up the switching frequency it compensates for it.
Really wish it had more fan headers but oh well splitters took care of that.
Overall Review: MSI would be the number one motherboard maker if it wasn't for the contract they made to use Analog VRMs back in the day, was a good deal then, really coming back to bite them now. However MSI has managed to do some crazy voodoo magic with digital compensation for the analog vrms to make it perform very well.
Pros: Fans are whisper quiet at 100%
tears through games
Running Witcher 3 at 2-3x ultra settings (via .ini tweaks on steroids) at 1440p using DSR at about 40 fps it looks like real life.
This card will last at least 3 years for me, maybe.
Cons: Not the best overclocker (for the 900 series, its fantastic overclocking generally speaking), only hits 1375 without added voltage can only get 7100 on the vram. I won't be bothering with added voltage till it's under water not enough thermal headroom.
Hit's above 80c fairly easily with the stock thermal paste application (with fans at 100%) and after two applications myself. finally got it to max out at 81c on the second application I guess that's good enough, my room is fairly warm though it's 80 F in the house.
Overall Review: I'm a bit of an AMD fanboy but the Fury X dropped the ball, doesn't have DVI-D (for Korean monitors which i plan to get one) and only beats the 980ti consistently at 4k which is cool and all but I'm not interested in 4k. Also the Fury doesn't overclock well compared to the 980ti which this model comes factory overclocked 25% then can be pushed farther past that.
got my card at $669 on release bought some McDonald's with the extra 10 bucks everyone else is gonna have to spend ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
This card has turned my Enthoo Luxe into a massive heatsink the whole back of it gets scolding hot.
My universal EK Thermosphere can't fit the card, the card is too wide by 1/4 an inch will have to get a new block, could have went reference and avoided this but MSI covers aftermarket cooling under warranty, the backplate is sexy, the vrms are overkill, and It's just an all around awesome card.
Will be incorporating this into my custom cooling loop once a block is released, it runs way too hot for my liking and should improve the overclocking headroom
would give this a 4 1/2 rating if it was an option.
Pros: -Lasts for about 100-200 uses
-makes rubbing alcohol look like a joke
-smells like oranges
Cons: -asked for a sandwich hours ago, still haven't gotten one.
Pros: It's super cheap (obviously) the 2 included fans are super quiet and move more air than I expected for it being as cheap as it is, side mesh is great for intaking more air if your cpu and gpu need it.
Cons: pcie slots cant be re-covered once it's removed. the area behind the motherboard tray is a joke as far as cable management goes (I actually wan't expecting any space at all so I guess it could be a pro?)
Overall Review: Carefully plan the order you put your components in unless if you're a toddler handed contortionist. I'd suggest putting the power supply in last.
Tried to save 3 bucks on shipping via another retailer... package arrived over a week later than the parts I ordered Newegg, never again.
Pros: used for 3 months now in a 600w rig (after overclocking etc) great psu, runs very cool even when my entire system is under load.
Cons: 8 pin supplemental cable is too short to route behind the motherboard tray (just like the EVGA psu before it) only too short by an inch or 2 (just like the EVGA) i have a fairly common sized mid tower case and this trend of supplemental 8 pin cables being too short is getting on my nerves.
Overall Review: sold on of my gfx cards so now it just has one gonna keep this psu for my upcoming build and put the old one back in and sell to a friend, he's not getting this psu it's nice! but i'll also need a cable extension for the supplimental 8 pin as i'm building a full tower next so it will be a must.
Pros: have purchased 2 of the 2x2gb 1600 kits in the past have worked perfect.
Cons: the pcb on one kit is green the other is darkblue/black... not sure why the change but it isn't noticable
Pros: best silence to flowrate ratio that you will find PERIOD. The quality is top notch! NO NEED FOR FAN CONTROL just let them run at 100% they are so quiet slowing them down would be plain silly.
completely red when leds are on.
Cons: The 4 pin cougar fans do not have led options but i later discovered they are so quiet there's no need to control speed.
they aren't square that would have helped boost the static pressure passing through my radiator but they make cheapo fan add-ons for this.
fan blades are orange, but as previously stated when on they are red.
Overall Review: Used these to replace the 96 cfm fans that came with the kraken x60 which are infamous for developing a rattle, and both of them had it from day one, but recently got unberable.
The result of replacement? Silence. my temps went up 1 degree as the cfm is lower but the improved static pressure made up for it, totally worth the silence as noise level is in measurement terms, cut in half. As far as human hearing goes they are 1/10th the volume.
i'm selling this pc and building a new one getting 8 of the 12 cm version of this
Pros: Packaged like i bought a 10 grand bottle of wine opening this put a smile on my face it was awesome. sound quality is amazing for the price point, really, it's amazing. combining this with my sound blaster z's Crystalizer function it now sounds like a several hundred dollar high fidelity headset.
Cons: Way too much bass not nearly enough mids or treble. After switching ear cups from leather to the cloth it came with this allowed the headset to be semi open improving the smoothness. then an additional half hour of making an aggressive treble oriented EQ profile the sound is finally where I want it.
Overall Review: pretty sure the speakers are still breaking in after a brief 5 hours of use. I'm already pleased with the sound and it's only getting better. make sure you have EQ software available to you unless if you're a bass head or the sound signature might make you sick. the size of this headset. uhm? was the design model a smurf? i have it lengthened all the way and it fits perfect at that size but my head is average so, it could be a problem for someone with a larger head keep that in mind
Pros: These things are great i've had them since Modern Warfare 2 came out in 09. I now use this headset with my pc and I tried replacing them with sennheiser 558's and was disappointed with he sennheisers. (still trying to find a replacement see other thoughts for why). this headset has good bass but it's very very weak bass (there is a bass boost setting on the headset which corrects this) the mids and treble are outstanding which is why i find it so hard to replace them. even after so much use the head band still clamps my head the way it did when they were new, not too tight not too loose. I would also like to note that my sound card has really utilized the true performance of these things you can really tell the Xbox bottlenecks the sound quality.
Cons: being one of the first wireless high performance headsets, sometimes there is a momentary popping sound from the speakers due to bad reception with the transmitter. It's not rechargeable, buy at least 4 AAA rechargeable batteries with this headset or you may as well jump off a financial cliff; a set of batteries lasts about 12 hours, 8 if you use bass boost. frankly 5 years of changing batteries once or twice a day has finally got me sick of doing it.
Overall Review: since I have used this headset the equivalent of what would be 20+ years for the average person (10 hours a day usage on average for me), I am not going to list the following as cons. after extensive use the leather headband is cracking really bad and the ear cups are missing the inner foam because it started to disintegrate, none of these problems even started until I had them for 3-4 years. The dolby post processing is stronger in the right ear than the left with pc this never happened with the xbox 360 i think it's there to compensate for a problem the 360 had. I don't need the dolby post processing now anyways since i have a sound card.
Pros: They are nice headphones... i guess. I don't want to hate on them too much because i feel like it's personal preference therefore i'm not putting the eggs through the floor. they do have good build quality and feel very nice.
Cons: No amount of EQ in the world can bring the treble out in these headphones it doesn't matter what i do. also when it says open style it means OPEN don't just shrug it off. my dad was across the house when i had them at 1/4 volume and was complaining for me to turn it down. Also the sound signature is fairly muffled almost like it's coming from another room.
Overall Review: my personal experience is truly a 1 egg rating i prefer my old cruddy turtle beach x41's to these (xbox360 headset im using with my pc) and since most of you probably doubt me at this point, yes i am using an amplified sound card, 600 ohm amp, so that is not the problem with the sound. however i feel that most of my bad experience is preference related. if you like a lot of treble like i do and enjoy the sound of guitars being out front in your music, these are not the headphones for you it can't be done no amount of EQ can make it work. maybe i'm naive for expecting this out of open headphones but i feel this review could be helpful to anyone like myself
Pros: Great overclock ability for the price point, truly it is insane for how cheap this board is (got mine for 90 dollars) my 6350 is running at 4.7 ghz with a 1.4 v core kraken cooler keeps it under 45c at all times typically reaching a peak of 40c. the northbridge sometimes hits up to 70c on this board but from what i have read it's safe up to 90c.
Cons: surprisingly, none.
Overall Review: Don't know if it's my case (Thermaltake urban S31) or if it's the motherboard but the USB 3.0 plug is very loose. not listing this as a con because i don't know which is the culprit.
Pros: Lowered my graphics card temps about 10 degrees at idle, 5 degrees lower at load.
Cons: Turns out my graphics card over heating was not due to thermal paste. while this did significantly improve temps, at normal clock speeds i am still 10-15 degrees above max temps (85c) at load. The real problem is a failing gpu :(
Overall Review: I've significantly under clocked my card to get at least another month or two out of it. the improved temps this paste has delivered should help make it last until i can buy a replacement
Pros: keeps my screen safe
Cons: looks like crud. after spending ten minutes applying it and getting every single air bubble out i peel the front protective screen off of the screen protector and it peels it off the phone! so i lay it back on repeat the process and again it pulls it off. eventually i gave up and tried to rub the bubbles out with the cover off using my thumbs so i wouldnt scratch it up. this didnt work well at all and now it looks cruddy
Pros: extra buttons, adjustable dpi, etc it's all in the description. this mouse is much better than what i was expecting for the price, i was expecting low quality and pieces of the mouse not put together quite right. this mouse is amazing quality
Cons: doesn't listen when i ask for a sammich
Pros: For what you get this thing is a great deal especially with the 15 dollar rebate rebate
Cons: the supplemental power cord was a bit short even in a mid tower case forcing me to run the cable in front of everything
the power cord is also insanely short... like 2 feet maybe
Overall Review: i would have still bought this product knowing what i do now
Pros: this cooler is great keeps my overclocked fx 6350 well within temperature thresholds and the lighting is pretty cool, honestly the main reason i chose it over some other double radiator cooler
Cons: during instillation TWO cable sleeves came undone and now are frayed at the end. if it was just one i would have given a 5 star review but two? obviously it's poor cable sleeving not something i did.
Overall Review: even though i took measurements in the top portion of my thermaltake s31 i forgot to consider where the hoses are, i had to do a slight case mod, so if you also need to measure to confirm if this will fit remember the hoses!
Pros: -got my case for 67 dollars undeniably worth it
-cable management isn't perfect but is workable for lots of cabling
-door opens entirely with ease unlike other reviews
-window has better placement than any other case I've seen
-the door feels very solid latches tightly shut with good magnets and the metal is a great subtle touch
-lots of extra screws for mounting: motherboard, power supply, radiator, towel warmer, toaster oven, you name it plenty of screws
-the buttons feel great i found myself pressing them repeatedly for no reason while building my computer
-the case is sturdy enough for me to put a lot of my weight on it while getting into it during assembly
-if i didn't specifically list it in the cons, it's probably a pro
Cons: ALL CONS ARE MINOR:
-one of the rubber grommets popped out during pulling cables through but was able to get it back on without too much trouble
-slight difference in the shades of black with various pieces of the case, only noticeable in bright lighting, such as the flood light i used during assembly
-the side panels were a bit awkward to take on and off until i did it a few times, doesn't bother me now
-the plastic behind the door looks cheap, but unless if you plan on breaking your door off.... doesn't matter
-asked it to make me a sandwich, never got a sandwich
Overall Review: -The EVGA 500b 8 pin supplemental cpu power cord is too short to route behind the motherboard in this case making it look kinda cruddy hanging out front
-not sure if this is my motherboard or the case but the usb 3.0 connector was a tad loose, i had to recheck if it was connected after feeding any cables past it
-even though i took measurements i had to mod the case to fit a kraken x60 into it due to the hoses.
-the thin back seems to be a concern in some of the video reviews i have seen, i have an hd 7970 in it and there is no flex in the back at all it provides plenty of support
I tried to include a little bit of everything in this review, hope it helps!
FEEL CONFIDENT IF YOU CHOOSE THIS CASE
Pros: Works pretty good no complaints
Overall Review: i salvaged this out of a busted dvr for camera security. also to all the people who complain about the no cables and no screws etc... read the title it says "oem" if you don't know what that means look it up
Pros: i got a gatway laptop 4 years ago and after a few hot summer days a year later, the hard drive failed. my notebook was under best buy warranty so i brought it in and had it replaced. they couldnt find a 3400 rpm hard drive, thank goodness, and they gave me one of these nice 7200 rpm seagate hard drives. this thing is great! I'm pretty clumsy and tend to beat up my laptop because of it but the hard drive remains in perfect working condition
Cons: none. i got it for free so i can't complain
