Pros: Bought this drive to replace an aging WD in one of the company's laptops. Very quiet, No chewing sounds.

Pros: Great picture, and up scaling for standard dvd playback. OSD menu is pretty straight forward allowing for fast setup.

Cons: I'm not really sure whats going on here, but this player does not work well with dvd+rw media, or anything other than bought dvd movie disk's. you'll be lucky if you get half way through the disk before it freezes or starts skipping sections of the disk. Have tried disk's from the cheapest to the high end TDK dvd's, and the results are the same no matter how pristine the disk. I suspect it is an issue with the laser lens being of the lowest spec possible.

Overall Review: I'm expecting this layer to not last beyond the 6 month mark given the issues i have encountered so far. That being said, for what i paid it's not that bad. Will update if it dies before the 6 months are up.
