Great keyboard

SteelSeries 64225 6Gv2 Keyboard
SteelSeries 64225 6Gv2 Keyboard

Pros: Cherry MX Black switches. The key is activated before it bottoms out so it's instantly superior to every regular keyboard you've ever touched. No flashy LEDs. No unnecessary macro keys. Keyboard has some weight to it, will not float around on your desk.

Cons: Takes getting used to in a couple of ways. Cherry MX Blacks are harder to bottom out than regular keyboard keys. You might find yourself having a hard time with the keyboard at first because you think you have to press harder to activate the key. The right shift key is smaller to make the enter key bigger. I don't really see the point of this, but it took me a week to get over this. When I'm not gaming I use the right shift while typing (my bros thought this was blasphemy), and because of this change I had to adapt. It's 100% fine now though. No programmable key software. There's 3rd party stuff for that. Though it would take some effort and a little learning.

Overall Review: WASD is fading, but it's not like I look down anyway. I prefer the media keys to be on the right side of the board, so I used a program called Sharpkeys to change some keys on the right side of the board into media keys. You may want to pick up a decent wrist rest if you really need one of those. I did at first, however after putting off buying one I no longer feel the need to get one at all. I also feel like my wrist is getting less stress because of it.

eDimensional AudioFX Pro 5+1 USB Connector Circumaural Force Feedback Gaming Headset
eDimensional AudioFX Pro 5+1 USB Connector Circumaural Force Feedback Gaming Headset

Pros: Extremely good headset, especially when compared to my old Logitech headset. These things were everything I had hoped for and more. Very loud sound and an interesting surround sound. Decent software for both Vista and XP (dual booting). Some variations between the two but basically the same.

Cons: A mere month after buying them, using them daily the mic has somehow managed to dislodge and a wire inside of it broke. From every point of view I see this as a design flaw. If you don't use the mic much then it will be up, but if you aren't wearing the headset then the ear cups are trying to come together, putting strain on the mic. I have considered just breaking off the mic and calling it a minor loss, but I'm building a new desktop and this handicap will most likely ruin my gaming experience.

Overall Review: Best headset I've owned so far. Shame the mic died so fast. Maybe I can still return it?... I dunno.... Don't let my negativity stop you from buying this though. This headset managed to ressurect my love for music.

ASUS RT-N16 802.11b/g/n Gigabit Wireless Router up to 300 Mbps DD-WRT Open Source support with USB Storage, Printer and Media Server
ASUS RT-N16 802.11b/g/n Gigabit Wireless Router up to 300 Mbps DD-WRT Open Source support with USB Storage, Printer and Media Server

Pros: Easily the best choice you can make for the price. With the support of DD-WRT it's got everything I need. Be sure to take into consideration that when installing custom firmware, hardware specs are the only real variables here. The Asus RT-N16 is a beast compared to most everything out there right now.

Cons: Flashing to DD-WRT was a little frightening for this first-timer but if you follow the easy steps it'll be well worth it. DD-WRT still working out the kinks with the USB mounting though.

Overall Review: Got this mainly to stop my roomie from fisting the bandwidth with his P2P and bandwidth intensive applications. With DD-WRT I was able to set up QoS on the programs/games/VOIP that I use and I get the BEST possible connection with those things no matter how much either one of us is downloading. Roomie's wireless signal went from ~20-30megabit/s to ~200megabit/s, he is happy. Buy it before it goes out of stock!

Rheobus-Extreme Fan Controller Panel
Rheobus-Extreme Fan Controller Panel

Pros: Great fan controller. Easy install into and is generally a must for someone wishing to undervolt those noisy fans. Whopping 30w per channel!

Cons: The only thing brighter than the knobs on this thing in my room is my monitor.

Overall Review: I have 3 sleeved high RPM Panaflos hooked up to my radiator. Because they were sleeved together I couldn't get high enough cfm to keep my watercooling as cool as I wanted it if they were on a normal 12v string. This 30w per channel controller eliminated that issue and now I'm seeing 25c idle 3.8ghz Phenom II 940BE.

Great RAM

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK

Pros: Fast, Large and does it's job. Currently buying another set of these beauties =).

Cons: First time having to overclock RAM, this is 800 by stock, you have to manually overclock it to 1066 (Which is not too difficult) You have to set the timings to 5-5-5-15 which was simple with AMD Overdrive, there were also a few examples on the G.Skill forum.

Overall Review: Make sure you memtest your RAM for errors after you overclock it to adjust for stability. Hopefully you won't make the same mistake as me. Buying another 4gb, nuff said.
