Worked Like A Charm

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Laptop Memory Model F4-2133C15S-8GRS
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Laptop Memory Model F4-2133C15S-8GRS

Pros: Bought it for a Lenovo laptop who's spec's set an upper limit of 8 GB RAM max. Read a Lenovo forum where a customer found that the laptop was capable of 12 GB RAM with the latest BIOS. I was at the latest BIOS version so I tried adding this 8GB to the soldered on 4GB, and it worked! I'm very pleased, because more RAM is always better when running multimedia applications.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I would certainly recommend this product because the price is reasonable, and it just works.

Most Critical Review

Doesn't really work.

Digital2 Platinum D2-861G 1 GB DDR3 Memory 16GB Flash Storage 8.0" 1280 x 800 Tablet Android 4.4 (KitKat) Black
Digital2 Platinum D2-861G 1 GB DDR3 Memory 16GB Flash Storage 8.0" 1280 x 800 Tablet Android 4.4 (KitKat) Black

Pros: Nothing. I just needed something to read e-books with, but it isn't even useful for that.

Cons: Have to flip it very often while trying to type anything. Let's say you're trying to enter an e-mail address. You might get to where you enter the @, but then need to flip it in order for the special keys to toggle. Then you might have to flip it again to switch to normal character mode. Then when you need to type a period ('.'), you need to flip the tablet again. Sometimes the backspace will work, and sometimes it won't. It's EXTREMELY flaky regarding the touchscreen. These are typical examples, but in general the touch screen works sporadically. Also, while you might get it to work between 0 and 90 degrees rotation, it won't work at all at 180 degrees like my other Android. UPDATE: Over time it became completely unusable. The more I tried to use it, the more flaky it clearly is. Sometimes it selects what you point at, and sometimes it selects something else. While trying to read many pages of a book with a Kindle app, it does things that you didn't expect. Yesterday it started to randomly act as if I were touching buttons that I hadn't. Sometimes it would cycle through the interface, executing commands that I hadn't touched. I could put it down after it started doing this, and it still continued to do things without my hands being anywhere near the device. Bottom line is that I spent most of my time trying to work with something that simply can't work. It doesn't even qualify as a cheap toy. It's relatively expensive time-sink.

Overall Review: As mentioned before, I bought this tablet to read e-books. The touchscreen will often fail to work near the borders. You have to flip the table in order for the touch to work at the edges (e.g., backspace). You can't use it at all angles, only between 0 and 90 degrees. I would consider the problem calibration related, except that keys that sometimes don't work, can work. It's simply very flaky.

I would NOT buy, nor recommend this product. It was cheap, and I got what I paid for. UPDATE: I didn't even get what I paid for. I was patient enough to have wasted way too much time with a truly inferior product. I contacted the manufacturer and they suggested that I reset the device to original manufacturer settings. I did that several times and nothing changed. The system appears to be usable until it's used for a practical and reasonable amount of time, like getting past maybe 10 pages of a book. I don't know if it's the hardware or the software that is inferior? Maybe the manufacturer, Digital2, just needs more experience putting together Android platforms? I don't know, but I'm very surprised that a product can possibly be so poor. I buy lots of gadgets and toys, and am a good Newegg customer. I still give Newegg 5 stars, because they are so good at taking care of their customers, giving me lots of confidence as a buyer. All of my complaints are with Digital2. That is a brand that I now know to avoid. In my experience in buying from Newegg, it's pretty rare to find a vendor this inferior. $50 isn't a lot of money until you get virtually nothing for it.

Not Reliable

Team Group CX2 2.5" 2TB SATA III 3D TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) T253X6002T0C101

Pros: Bought this SSD for an older laptop 💻 that otherwise ran without any issues, other than slow, because of a mechanical drive. It runs, just not reliably.

Cons: Freezes upon booting. Have to power off, then try again, until it finally works.

Overall Review: I've bought at least a dozen SSD's, and never had problems, as I do with this one. It NEVER boots up on the first try -- it freezes at different phases of the boot up process.

Never Arrived

Pros: None

Cons: It never arrived.

Overall Review: I kept getting bogus notifications. First they said that it would arrive on a certain day, but it didn't. Then they said, "sorry, it's shipping late, but will arrive on a certain day", but it didn't. Then after updated failed delivery date's, it STILL hasn't arrived. Frankly, until this request for a review I had already forgotten about this purchase. At this point, the only thing that makes sense is to cancel the order, or get a refund. This sort of thing has never happened to me with a purchase from NewEgg. Must be an inferior vendor.

TX Mode doesn't work

Bluetooth Transmitter, 3-in-1 Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter Receiver Adapter, FM Transmitter with RCA/AUX Cable, Wireless Audio Adapter for Stereo System/TV/PC/Headphones/Speakers
Bluetooth Transmitter, 3-in-1 Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter Receiver Adapter, FM Transmitter with RCA/AUX Cable, Wireless Audio Adapter for Stereo System/TV/PC/Headphones/Speakers

Pros: Comes with all connectors, remote, and battery.

Cons: TX mode doesn't work. It CLEARLY does not work. I've read the instructions manual completely. No problem understanding it. When powered on in TX mode, it doesn't show up in either my Android phone, nor my Android tablet, when scanning for Blluetooth devices. My Yamaha receiver pairs with both my phone and tablet with no problems. However, the Yamaha can't pair with this Bluetooth device in TX mode. This is why I checked it against both my phone and tablet.

Overall Review: I bought this Bluetooth interface so that I could channel my TV's audio to my Yamaha receiver via Bluetooth. This product is advertised for exactly this purpose! It just doesn't work! I use Bluetooth for lots of things (e.g., Androids, speakers, refrigerator, etc.). Bluetooth normally just works. I'm a retired NASA engineer who happened to work in communications. I've never had a problem using Bluetooth until trying this, and another product, in TX mode. I'm VERY disappointed! I love doing business with New Egg, but they need to vet this Chinese companies better. I noticed after receiving this junk that there's no brand associated with it. Total junk and ripoff!

False Advertising: TX Mode Doesn't Work

Bluetooth 5.0 Receiver 3.5mm AUX Jack Audio Wireless Adapter for Car PC Headphones Bluetooth 5.0 Receptor
Bluetooth 5.0 Receiver 3.5mm AUX Jack Audio Wireless Adapter for Car PC Headphones Bluetooth 5.0 Receptor

Pros: Small, but only works in Rx mode. I bought it for it's advertised TX mode.

Cons: TX mode doesn't work! I needed it for its advertised TX mode. I bought 2, and wasted MANY hours trying to get the TX mode to work. Yes, I read the tiny users manual. I eventually found a YouTube video where it was shown that the TX Mode will never work, as I had already determined for myself. The presenter eventually called the manufacturer to find out from them that the TX mode won't work. They just lie in their advertising to charge twice as much as the product is worth.

Overall Review: False advertising! The manufacturer lies about the product working in TX mode so that they can charge twice as much as the product is worth. Customers, like me, will waste MANY hours trying to get the TX mode to work -- TX mode doesn't work, and the manufacturer KNOWS that TX mode doesn't work! VERY FRUSTRATING! NewEgg should drop this vendor. I very generously gave the product 2 stars because the Rx mode does work -- not great, but it can work. I can't recommend this product. I recommend that you spend the money on a fully functional product, even if it costs 4 times as much.

Does What It's Supposed To

I'm a retired software architect and used to build my own PC's -- I've built at least a dozen. I'm now getting rid of old computer cases that I no longer need, but can always used the hard-drives. This enclosure is perfect gaining extra storage from old drives. I had considered buying individual hard-drive enclosures, until I ran into this. This enclosure provides the added benefit of allowing one to connect 5 hard-drives via a single USB port and power supply. It provides a great path for using old drives, and I have a lot. I'll probably get another.

Superb Build!

I absolutely would recommend this seller! This was my 4th PC purchase from New Egg and couldn't be more pleased! Before retiring, I had built at least 12 PC's, and have bought many others from places like Best Buy, Frye's, etc. I've owned HP's, Acer's, Gateway's, Dell's, Sony Vaio's, plus my own builds. I was looking for a gaming PC, and before buying, I used New Eggs feature where you can directly compare comparable PC's. In this case, I compared 6 builds. My primary criteria was getting something that was as future proof as possible (i.e., latest and greatest CPU, most threads, greatest amount of video RAM, and upgradability via the motherboard, including RAM, and more than ample amount of ports). THIS BUILD DELIVERS ON ALL COUNTS! The PC was shipped nicely packed, both outside and in, and the build quality is first rate! Certainly better than the big names out there (e.g., IBM, Dell, Gateway, Sony, HP, etc.) AND IT'S BEAUTIFUL! My son is a gamer, and he tells me that he's playing his favorite games at "max settings" without issues. As a former NASA engineer and embedded developer, software architect, and manager, I tend to be pretty demanding, and picky. I got tell you, this build is immaculate, superb, first rate, etc. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER WITH THIS PURCHASE!

Worked As Expected

Was going to buy a Samsung, because it's the smallest USB memory stick on the market, but decided that because the shipping cost from Canada is as much as the product itself, it REALLY isn't worth it, so I settled for the next best thing. I'm happy with my purchase.
