Pros: Fast & quiet (much quieter than my old IDE CDROM).
Overall Review: I bought this to replace an older IDE CDROM and I am very happy with my purchase.
Pros: Overall, this is an excellent card. It sounds great and has great specs. I like the fact that it uses external power (not power from the PCI bus) and has an EMI shield covering critical components on the card.
Cons: Will not natively playback 88.2 khz files. This was a show stopper for me as I have bought music in FLAC format that is 24-bit/88.2 khz.
Overall Review: I reluctantly returned this card because of the 88.2khz playback issue. If this wasn't an issue for me I would have definitely kept the card.
If natively playing back 88.2khz files is not a problem for you I recommend purchasing this card.
Pros: Works great with my 2 Samsung F1 1TB drives. The 321 formatted them quickly and was up and running in no time.
Relatively quiet. Small form factor. Metal case. Runs cool so far.
Supports plug-ins, which can allow for more features (SSH, etc) but I haven't tried this yet as I'm not sure how it impacts the warranty.
Seems to be fairly configurable.
Cons: Only supports SMB shares. Would prefer NFS support for usage with Linux. SSH not supported out of the box.
I've read that user permissions might not work well with various OSes but I have not confirmed this for myself.
Overall Review: I upgraded to the latest firmware version (1.01 at this time) before formatting the discs. This firmware version fixes some bugs and also enabled Jumbo frames support.
Pros: Fast processor and relatively cheap. Provided a nice speed boost over my old 2.4Ghz Conroe.
