A lot of board for your money
Pros: alc1200 audio m.2 heatsink Intel LAN
Cons: There a small RGB element that is active even when your PC is off. I immediately turned it off in the bios. Memory slots only use 1 lever. Seriously, how much more would 2 levers cost?
Overall Review: This was on sale for 90 dollars. The cheapest comparable AM4 board was 130. This was what pushed me onto to the intel path. Yes, you're limited on your ram speed, 2666 in my case. I bought some low latency 2666 ripjaws to go with it. I will note that enabling XMP disabled c-states 6 and 7. My friend bought this same board. He already had 3200 ram from a previous build. XMP wasn't an option in his bios.
Pros: Software is pretty good for it.
Cons: It's just too uncomfortable to use. My index finger won't lay flat on the mouse, it hovers over it. After about 10 minutes I realized my finger was starting to hurt where it meets my hand.
Overall Review: Unlike a right handed mouse that is contoured to your hand with a gradual slope, this is not.
Pros: Key response is nice.
Cons: The backlighting is bad. The symbols on the lower half of the key get almost no light compared to the top. The icons for the numlock and such at the top right are much brighter than the other keys. It looks really bad. -2 eggs.
Overall Review: It's even noisier than I thought it would be. Not taking an egg off since I bought the blue for the clicky sound, it's just more annoying than I thought it would be. I didn't realize how much I would be annoyed by having to hold the func key in order to use the multimedia keys at the top. I use these keys every day and on my sidewinder x4 it's easy.
Pros: The obvious, price. Keys are very quiet except space bar.
Cons: Neither the mouse or keyboard I received sits level. I've never had this problem with anything I've bought. This alone warrants 1 egg. I stuffed a paper towel under the top left of the keyboard but the mouse can't be fixed. Restarting the computer turns the keyboard lights off. Without the lights the keys are very dim and hard to read. The prop feet under the keyboard don't have rubber tips. The mouse wheel has almost no feedback and it's stiff to move. The mouse design is awkward. It's symmetrical design means there's a sharp edge under the outside of your palm. Do yourself a favor, don't buy a symmetrical mouse if you are right handed. As with most mice, the front thumb button is too far forward to be useful.
Overall Review: They decided to put glossy parts on the keyboard. Whoever thought putting fingerprint magnets on a keyboard needs their head checked. The keys feel mushy, much more so compared to this x4 I'm typing on. This is something that some people will prefer and I personally don't mind the difference. I bought this because I thought it was an unbeatable deal. I'm assuming this manufacturing defect is rare and I'm just unlucky. My first assumption was that the desk was warped but the other keyboards and mice I've used don't wobble so, yeah. Returning things for me is such an annoyance since I have to drive 40 minutes each way to get to a UPS store that I'm just going to keep it since my mom doesn't mind the mouse. If I bought this for me I'd return it for sure.
