MSI GF Series - 15.6" 144 Hz IPS - Intel Core i7 10th Gen 10750H (2.60GHz) - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU - 8 GB DDR4 - 512 GB NVMe SSD - Windows 10 Home 64-bit - Gaming Laptop (GF63 Thin 10UC-439 )

Pros: 1: Six core i7 CPU with hyper threading, can effectively scale twelve threads at a time. Great for multitasking. 2: Very good graphics overall. I wouldnt try most newer games on high settings or better, but I play more games like RTS, building games, etc. Civ VI runs just fine for me on high settings, Rome 2 Total War can be run on high to very high, but Im not to worried about having most settings past medium. 3: Windows ten, not as loved as Win XP or Win 7, but overall a fine experience. 4: I love the design, its very elegant and coherent. I should have gotten one with a numeric keypad on the side, but meh, who cares. The keyboard feels great, really firm and responsive and beautiful backlighting. 5: Great audio, even better if you take the time to customize it to you. I use Sennheiser headphones when I listen to music and its amazing. 6: Not too sure yet on the dragon control whatever software stuff. I dont really use it. I prefer to manage things on my own. It looks like they used decent thermal paste. It was even applied almost completely correct. I still went ahead and cleaned it off so I could use a much better one. I went with Arctic M-4, since I happened to already have it anyways. All around it has been a good experience.

Cons: 1: Eight gigs or RAM, seriously? Luckily I happened to have a paired set of eight and eight to get the system up to 16. Will push that to thirty two gigs soon. 2: No internal HDD. Since I always use an NVME for my system and a few programs and I put the rest on an internal HDD. Moving the HDD from my last laptop to this one was easy. I just needed to tell Windows and some other programs where everything actually are. 3: Bloatware. Bloat bloat and bloat. I dont want trial software pre installed. I dont want programs and apps harvesting my data for corporations, I dont want hourly reminders to sign up and pay for apps and services I dont want. I spent too much time removing garbage from my computer. Out of the box there were something like 200 services or more running and All I did was the initial startup of Windows. Suffice it to say, it will need to be decrapified and debloated. Fortunately, Im good at that. 4: Dragon software, Nahimic and Intel all run way too many services in the background. Seriously, why cant some of this be consolidated? Are your programmers just unwilling to optimize this? Also, why is the Dragon software so buggy? It cant even check for updates. I looked up the problem and it looks like I have to uninstall it, with an installer MSI offers to address the problem. In other words, this is a known issue and rather than actually just fixing it, you push the added work off onto customers instead of to your programmers and IT personnel. I guess you really cant put a price on laziness. 5: Fans can be loud, but theyd be much quieter if the internal components cook, so I cant complain about it too much. 6: No numberpad on the side. Cest la vie.

Overall Review: I have a few gripes, mostly petty stuff, except for the bloatware. Overall, really good machine and way better with some minor upgrades and optimizations. Dont forget to set your plugged in power plan for performance. Also, dont worry about the factory seal sticker. The Warranty void stickers are illegal so they used one that says factory seal. The FTC has also said it is illegal to void a warranty just because the end user opened it, serviced it or used non authorized parts. It fall under the Mag-Moss warranty act if youd like more information. You can also use the FTCs website to gain more thorough understanding. Unrelated to MSI, Ill be avoiding Vist 2.0.errrr I mean the digital dumpster fire called Windows 11. I just want a local account and I shouldnt have to hack my way into making that option available. Plus, windows 10 is just right, I only wish it looked more like windows 7. Windows 11 seems a bit too much like a digital dumpster fire to me. Good luck!

Good customer service

Seller responds within 48 hours. I determined I no longer needed the product, RMA was quick, return label was generated with pickup scheduled. I am still waiting for seller to receive item and issue refund, but they have been very good so far. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
