Pros: 120mm FAN, includes clips for additional 120mm fan for push and pull cooling. Easy to clip to AM3 socket (once mobo is out of case). 4 Direct touch heat pipes. Size is just right to allow good fit in case and with ram and mobo heat sinks.
Cons: The included CPU grease isn't that effective. I used my zalman super grease instead. Must remove mobo to mount.
Overall Review: This is my 3rd heat sink/ fan trying to get my AMD 8320 cool. I think I finally got it! Using the push/ pull I am getting 23C idle! Not sure of load just yet. This is a great cooler and worth the money!
AMD 8320 (4ghz clocked)
32GB Gskill ram
MSI 970a-g46 mobo
512gb Crucial SSD
AMD R9 290x video
Antec LanBoy Air Case
Pros: Fast LAN & Wireless (when it works). Shared USB port, multi bioses to choose from to get the best one you like. If you disable the router's QOS you will see a small gain in a speed test.
Cons: The hugest CON I have found is that the wireless on the unit will stop accepting connections. Not sure how long this takes to mess up or what causes it. I usually must reboot the unit about every 3-4th week per month. Most devices keep their connection, but new or resumed connections don't.
Overall Review: I am now getting the Asus ac1900 router to do a small upgrade and see if that holds wireless and allows new connections without reboot.
Pros: 6 internal SATA3 ports. Internal USB3 header. Killer NIC (It IS faster!). Crossfire at 8x for both cards. Internal serial port header (if you need it). Over sized heat sinks that help maintain coolness and great look. Not using it, but onboard sound is suppose to be really good.
Cons: Nothing at all
Overall Review: If you would like a noticeably faster wired network connection, and enjoy a great sound card, then this bad boy is for you! I upgraded from an MSI 970a-g46 and debated whether it would be worth it for a month, bit the bullet after the price dropped by $10. Only NIC and VIA USB needed installed. Had to fetch both updated drivers from MSI web site. WIN 8.1 Pro was happy after that. Notably faster web pages loading, online games seem to be running a bit smoother and loading faster. The NIC was the biggest improvement with this board thus far. File transfers across network and to USB3 memory sticks fly a bit faster also.
Windows 8.1 Pro
MSI 970 Gaming MOBO
Power Color 7870/ OC
AMD FX-6100 @ 4.2ghz
16GB Gskill Ram @ 1866
Crucial 512GB SSD MX1000
Antec Lanboy Air case
850W Raidmax PSU
Pros: 2GB ram, PCI-E 3.0, ULTRA NICE COOLER, 2 year warranty (not just 1 year). Performance is great on this and the temp doesn't rise even 20 degrees higher than idle! BIG PROPS for the cooler on this card!
Cons: Not a one!
Overall Review: For the causal gamer to the WOW player this card handles it all very well and remains cool doing it!
Pros: Supports * core CPU's! Heat-sink on VRM's by CPU socket. Nice board layout. 2x PCI-E for crossfire. 950 south bridge chip set. 6 SATA ports. USB 3.0
Cons: No on-board usb3 headers
Overall Review: Fantastic board for gaming and anything heavy you want to throw at it! Bios can be done in old school or newer UEFI. Lots of newer options in the BIOS that I haven't seen before. If you are on a budget, grab this board you wont be sorry! SPEED, VALUE, FEATURE RICH = One great buy!
Pros: Usb3 onboard connector, PCI-E 3.0 onboard. DVI & Analog video connections. HDMI also! FAST! Bios has really easy to navigate layout and lots more features then most I have seen! Serail & Parallel onboard connectors for legacy devices.
Cons: Very few expansion slots, but thats only if you need them!
Overall Review: This board is great for the web surfer, emailer, music ripper/ maker. I wouldnt use it for more than a casual game though. No way is it a movie making board either.
Pros: SPEED! Comes with code for free software to clone your old drive to this one! Extra bracket in case your laptop has a deeper slot for SSD. PRICE!!
Cons: Not a single one!
Overall Review: If you are looking for a great SSD to update your system to get this one! 512GB and a low price! It even beat out my Samsung 140gb SSD! All around best bang for your buck!
Pros: Manufacturer over clocked. Nice heat sink/ fan design. PCI-E 3.0 compatible.
Cons: Fan gets pretty loud when playing WOW, not as loud on LFD2 or TF2...
Overall Review: I couldn't be happier getting over 2x FPS as my 6850's that were crossfired! I also noticed that my games don't hit any video lag like they used to (kind of like a stutter). If they had 2 fans in this I don't think the fan would roar as loud as it does. But o well lil more noise for a lot more FPS!
Pros: 2x boxed for safe delivery! Very sturdy, 450w psu! Psu has all connectors you will need! Extra 120MM fan in case to help cool it. Very VERY nice case!
Cons: Not a single one other than no USB 3.0 front connections.
Overall Review: The optical drives do not "mount" on the case's mobo side, there are metal push plates that hold it in place. There are also cut outs so that if you have plastic twist locks for the hard drives you can utilize them in this case. I would definitely buy this case again and again!
Pros: 7480 video, 3.7ghz on MSI board (default speed), 65W helps keep it cool and casts you less for electricity.
Cons: only 1MB cache. Only 2x Core CPU.
Overall Review: Great priced CPU with a decent video on it. Speed can vary with mobo its installed on. Save $ with this CPU + GPU!
Pros: PCI-E 3.0 !!! If you don't use a CPU with integrated graphics you can take advantage of the PCI-E 3.0 port! Or use an APU and get dual displays! Can handle up to 32GB RAM. HDMI port. 6 SATA3 Ports.
Cons: No USB3, only 2 RAM slots. That's really about it.
Overall Review: Great budget board, and pending what APU you choose, could be a good gaming rig. Uses are versatile with this MOBO, the only true bad thing is no USB 3.0...that said, enjoy!
Pros: Lower level of heat sink, helps enormous heat sink/ fans. FAST timings. Less heat given off than my RIPjaw X 1333 ram.
Cons: Wanted to run at 1333 on AUTO, Forced to 1866 and its holding just fine. FYI your AMD CPU must support 1866 or you cannot run the ram at that speed.
Overall Review: My rig:
AMD FX-6100 6-core CPU
Powercolor Radeon HD7870 GPU
MSI 970a-G46 Mobo
16GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X 1866
2 1TB WD Black 7200RPM SATA drives
1 500gb WD Black 7200RPM SATA drive
1 LG DVD Burner
1 ASUS BLU-RAY reader/DVD burner
All in an Antec Lan Boy Air (Yellow) case
Pros: Great bang for your buck! 4 SataII connections, RAID5 available, PCI connection, Small form factor, driver on CD works with WIN VISTA or 7.
Cons: Manufacture's site states card has a "Hardware RAID Array Maximum size: 2.3TB; Except for JBOD mode."
Overall Review: I use this card with WinVista as a peer to peer storage solution. I have 3 2TB drives in RAID5. I don't have the restriction listed above, which is NICE. Great card for the $, per my buddy it will tax your CPU for file usage as it doesn't have its own brains. I store music, files, pictures on mine, which saves the family $ on external backup drives.
Pros: 6 outlets, surge protection, telephone line protection, small footprint, easy to operate.
Overall Review: If you want a good battery backup with surge protection that doesn't take up a lot of room, grab this lil bad boy! I wouldn't recommend this unit for a beast of a computer, but rather a basic computer system with LED monitor.
Pros: Great amount of power connectors. SATA, IDE, 24 + 4 for MOBO...Doesn't have 6 or 8 pin for video card, but with a 350w are you really going to run a big video card? Dual fans keep it running cool.
Cons: Only con is that it doesn't have 6 or 8 pin for video card.
Overall Review: I have bought quite a few of these for people that blow up their power supplies. So far no issues over 3 months later.
Pros: Ethernet connection, separate toner cartridges from transfer roller, easy setup via CD or IP. Many options to customize in printer configuration. Great yield on pages per toner cartridge. Pretty low price on toner replacement options! Great PRICE (VALUE)!!!!
Cons: No wireless connection.
Overall Review: If you are tired of spending $ on INK TANKS that dry u from non-use, get this printer! Toner never dries up from non-use! No cleaning clogged ink heads, no $ wasted on dried up ink. Better looking print jobs PERIOD. Xerox provides good machines at work, so I bought this one for my home. Good thus far.
Pros: Has every power adapter that I have needed yet and plenty of them! Uber QUIET! Big fans to move more air with less noise and makes it cooler. Great accessories come with the item in a cool tool box that you can use for other things if need be. And don't forget the GOLD certified 80 PLUS, means that your electric bill will be a bit less! And its true! (2013) This PS is still going strong with no hiccups or issues! People need to remember to always use a battery backup and their power supply will last a very long time. Mine has a AVR built in it.
For all your power needs this one does the trick and well!
Cons: Realistically NONE
Overall Review: My rig:
AMD FX 6core CPU set to 4ghz
16GB GSkill Ripjaw RAM
MSI 970a-G46 MOBO
2- MSI 6850 OC Video Card
Samsung DVD burner
Asus Blu-ray player/ DVD burner
1TB Black Caviar WD HDD
2- 500GB Black Caviar WD HDD
All in a Antec yellow lan boy air case
Pros: Peppy CPU with 3 cores at 3.2ghz! Low onboard cache doesnt even stop this cpu! Wifes comptuer that I put together plays games and does everything FAST.
Cons: 512kb Cache, but you really dont see it lag.
Overall Review: Great price for performace & 3 cores! Enjoy!
Pros: Cheers to CPU magazine! Free to me for ordering parts from Newegg! And the subsription wont stop until I cancel it...No fees! NONE!
Cons: How could there be any?
Overall Review: Thanks again CPU magazine, you made this geek happy to read your magazine again!
Pros: FAST, stylish, low latency, High compatability! Easy to OC to 1666mhz!
Cons: Not a single one.
Overall Review: I have used Gskill for over 5 years and everytime they out do themselves! Gskill has low latency, low price and very stylish heat sinks on the RAM modules.
Pros: The new bios is something to get used to, but its like going from win98 to winXP. Fast chipset that left my 790fx in the dust! Bios is easy to tweak once you get it. Unlocked my 2x core to 4x core! Runs my 1333 Ram at 1666 just fine! 8x crossfire aint too shabby since my 790fx was at 16x (isnt much of a difference). USB3 & SATA3 rock! PCI-E 3.0 once piledriver cpu is in will scream!
My last word on the board is: If you want faster internet/ boot time/ file transfers/ gaming...get this board! I got it cheaper than here, sorry newegg.
Cons: Only 4 back facing SATA ports. The 2 that face the side cant be used due to my 6850 card that wont seat properly. Bummer that I had to take my 3rd HDD out or a DVD burner! I agree the 6 screw holes is kinda scary (just be careful), but I understand they did that so the board can fit in more cases.
Overall Review: my rig:
16GB 1333mhz Gskill Ripjaw RAM
2 - MSI AMD 6850 OC'd Edition
AMD BE Phenom2 2x 3.1Ghz unlocked to 4x cores & 3.4ghz

500GB & 1TB WD Black Edition HDD's
Samsung DVD burner
ASUS Bluray/DVD burner
Antec Lanboy Air Case
Pros: Overclocked already to a stable speed on the gpu and ram! NICE gpu cooler, SILENT and effective! Only requires 1 6-pin power connection. Runs WOW in ultra mode just fine with my crossfired 2 of these! Loving the upgrade from crossfire 5770s! BIG difference in games, less fram lag and better details in game!
Overall Review: If you want a VERY NICE video card upgrade go with one of these or 2 crossfired! Low cost for a BANGING video card!
Pros: Serial port onboard (if you need it), 870 chipset, FAST, 2 pci-e ports for crossfire! Easy setup with RAM. Best bang for buck! Can hold 16gb RAM!
Pros: USB ports on front at top level, comes with 430w power supply. Has big power button for an easy hit. Looks sleek and nice. Great deal for price paid!
Cons: Only 1 sata power connection, only 4pin power to mainboard, no 6 pin connectors for video.
Pros: 16x dual crossfire! 8x Quad crossifre. Great placed PCI-E and PCI slots. Many usb ports on back, serial port connection, FAST performance! Nice heat sink lay out. OC is a breeze! Unlocked 2 xtra cores for me!
Cons: Doesnt like Patriot Sector 5 memory. No SATA3 or USB3.
Overall Review: Fantastic mobo for a cheap price at FR!$ retail store. Great upgrade to dual 16x crossfire that helps my 1080p resolution. GAMEs love this board. A must for any gamer out there! All the extras on and with the board make it worth it!
