Pros: good price
has empty bay for extra 2.5" SSD/HDD - uses included bracket and ribbon cable to sata adapter
easy to open and access RAM, M.2 or extra drive bay
runs esports games pretty well
APU runs eevee opengl rendering pretty good
Cons: Keyboard is a little mushy but not too bad
chassis flex is noticeable but not terrible
depending on when it was manufactured, you might need to upgrade the bios in order to keep keyboard backlight from auto dimming.
screen is a little dim. Plenty bright for indoor but outside on a bright day the screen seems dim
Overall Review: I think this Acer laptop is a good balance between power, performance and durability for its price point. The CPU is pretty much all the vast majority of people would ever need in a laptop. The integrated GPU/APU performs well. Plays 4K 60 hz YT videos just fine although the screen is only 1080p.
I think it's a good buy.
Pros: What can I say other than the mx-4 paste is all I use and it has never let me down.
Overall Review: It's a good thermal paste and it does what it does. I use it for CPUs and GPUs and it is a product I recommend.
Pros: Simple to use and setup.
Easy to access the DSM(operating system) through a web browser.
Tooless 3.5" HDD trays work great. But keep in mind you do need a small philips for 2.5" SSD/HDD.
SSD caching is easy to setup and makes a significant difference.
Even though this is a refurbished unit, other than some extremely tiny cosmetic damage that you can't see unless you are looking for it, it seems like a new unit.
It has four USB 3.0 ports on the back that can be used to attached USB HDDs or thumb drives. I even connected a Probox 4 bay DAS to it and it saw all four HDDs.
You can map the "shared folders" to your windows machine and windows pretty much sees it as a network HDD. Allowing you to access it through file manager or pretty much any program just as you would if it were a HDD attached to your computer.
Cons: Wish the HDD tray lights were a little brighter.
Overall Review: I would recommend this for anyone who needs a centralized storage solution that can be accessed on your local home network or even through the internet.
Pros: Cheap price
Large capacity for the price
Fast sequential read/write
Cons: Slow random read/write
Overall Review: I think it's a good drive and good value as long as you are using it for storage and not as an OS drive. The included image is when it was tested with a sata 3 cable on an x470 mb.
Pros: 1) The clicks are nice and quiet but have noticeable tactile feedback.
2) Battery life so far is awesome. I started using this mouse 30 days ago and still have the included batteries. They still show full charge.
3) Fits my medium size hands nicely,
4) Extra buttons come in handy for macros but I must admit I rarely use the extra buttons.
5) Glides very smoothly across my mouse pad.
Cons: 1) The space on the side of the mouse(right handed use) where the thumb would rest is kinda small and it can be easy to accidentally press one of the side buttons in the front.
Overall Review: Overall I really like this mouse.
I am not a gamer. I use a computer primarily a a 3D artist. Blender is my preferred 3D program. This mouse works great for this use. Very precise and easy to use. I spend about 10-12 hours a day using the mouse but relatively light use when compared to a gamer and the original battery has so far lasted 30 days. I have observed no signs of battery drain as of yet.
The last time I used a wireless mouse was way back in the early 2000s and the battery lasted a few days at best. Having this mouse's battery so far last a month is orders of magnitude better. I was nervous about buying another wireless mouse. But I must admit I am pleasantly surprised.
Pros: This 64GB 3600 ram replaced my 32GB 2133 ram. In gaming and 3D rendering applications that use cuda or the CPU, it made a noticeable difference. In physics based simulations with millions of particles or high resolution fluid sims, it made a significant difference in both simulation times and preview speeds.
Cons: There are none that I am aware of.
Overall Review: Please note that you may need to update your bios in order to get he RAM to work. I had to update my MSI X470 to the newest bios in order to get it to recognize the ram. No big deal, just something to keep in mind. I probably only needed to update the bios because I don't have an X570. The 3900X that I have is designed for the X570 and the X470 only works because of a bios update. Also pay attention to the timings and make sure you select the correct timings in the bios. If you are using AMD 3000 series, make sure you "couple" the infinity fabric speed to the ram speed. It will run more efficient.
Pros: As described
Not too stiff
Cons: Cost just a tad more than expected. But still worth it.
Overall Review: I would recommend this for anyone who needs to relocate a GPU but still need full PCIe 16X speed.
Pros: As advertised and worked perfectly
Overall Review: I would recommend this for anyone who needs to connect a GPU to a single lane PCIe slot.
Pros: Worked first try.
Feels like quality.
Connections were snug and extremely easy to tell they were connected.
Worked perfectly with all my riser cables. 3 16x risers and 1 1x riser running 4 GPUs.
It was easy to replace my previous Asrock B350 with this MSI X470.
Cons: I know of none, not even exaggerating.
Overall Review: I purchased this with the intent to build me a 3D rendering machine.
My System Stats.
MSI X470(this review's motherboard)
Ryzen 5 1600X (soon to be upgraded to a Ryzen 9 3900X
2X RTX 2060 Supers
2X GTX 1060 6GB
4X 8GB 2400Mhz Ripjaws
1X 500GB Western Digital NVME
2X 250GB PNY SATA SSDs
1X BluRay drive
850 Watt EVGA PSU
I have used Gigabyte, Asrock and MSI motherboards and by far I prefer MSI. There is a quality difference that you can feel, especially when inserting RAM sticks, and PCIe connections.
I absolutely recommend this MB for anyone who wants a MB that's Ryzen 1000, 2000 and 3000 compatible.
Pros: -Does what it's supposed to do.
-Easy to install.
-Only needed a screwdriver and that was provided with the adapter.
-Comes with 4 mounting screws to attached the HDD to the adapter.
-Worked perfectly first try and no drivers needed.
Cons: -There are no cons that I am aware of.
Overall Review: I would recommend this to anyone who needs a second HDD in their laptop more than they need an optical drive.
NOTE: Keep in mind that optical drives in laptops typically come in two sizes. They are either 9.5mm or 12.7mm. As long as you get the adapter of the same thickness, you will not have any issues.
Pros: Works as described and worked without any issues. Just plug it into a USB port and then push an SD card into it or put an SD card in it and then plug it into a USB port. Works either way. It seems reliable.
Cons: If you are looking for something fast, this isn't for you. My unit has a max transfer rate of 15 MB per second write/read. I tried it with two different SD cards that are capable of 40 MB+ a second and I got the same results.
Overall Review: I would recommend this for anyone who only sometimes needs to transfer to or from an SD card and need a simple solution. However, anyone who routinely needs to transfer GBs worth of data like from a GoPro, I wouldn't recommend it, that is unless transfer speed isn't important. The unit will of course work for large files. It's just slow. But it's still a good value and simple solution to SD card to computer transfers.
Pros: As advertised.
Worked without any issue.
177MB per second sequential reads.
Cons: Only 40MB per second sequential writes. It's a little slower than expected but it's a mechanical drive and still within the normal range.
Overall Review: Shipped quickly and arrived quickly. Double boxed with double bubble wrapping. Seems to perform in perfect condition. It's a perfect additional storage drive for my movie server.
Pros: 1) Small unit
2) Comes with several attachments.
4) Two speeds high and low
5) Long power cable about 6 feet.
6) Very easy to use
Cons: 1) Loud like a shopvac and it will scare the cat or dog.
2) Gets warm quickly but it also blows the dust away quickly
Overall Review: The unit works perfectly and does the job it's meant to do. However, I would caution people to use it for a minute or two and then let it cool off. As quickly as it warms up I would highly suspect it could heat to the point of damage with 5 minutes of continuous use on high. That said, it took me about 60 seconds to blow 90% of the dust out of my mid tower. So I think you will be fine in most cases. But if you have several computer to clean at a time, give it a minute or two between each computer so that the unit cools. It will help the unit last longer. I suspect it will last me beyond the life of my current computers.
Pros: I purchased two 8GB sticks (F4-2400C15D-16GVR) a little over a year ago for my Ryzen build. The ram worked perfectly even-though it's advertised as for the intel chipset. But it worked fine on both my A320 and B350 AM4 socket board. Recently I purchased another two 8GB sticks(same part number) and the upgrade worked perfectly.
The price is a good value.
Looks good too.
Cons: I know of no cons.
Overall Review: While I cannot say if this ram will work for sure on a X370, B450 or B470 AM4 motherboard, I see no reason why they will not. I have had ZERO issue with these ram sticks and I don't see me having issues anytime soon. Good buy.
Pros: It's exactly the screw I needed to install an M.2 drive.
Cons: the price is a little high but I understand they have to factor shipping into the price.
Overall Review: What can I say other than it's a tiny screw that's needed to hold down an M.2 style SSD. It's as described and was shipped quickly.
Pros: Works as described and any devices communicating directly through this switch can do so at the full 1Gb speed. I can now transfer files in the LAN(Local Area Network) at about 110 MB a second or about 1G Bytes in 8 seconds.
Cons: None that I see.
Overall Review: I purchased this because my router only has 100Mb LAN ports. So I connected the switch to the router so that the router could feed the switch the internet connection and provide a wifi connection, but each computer wired to the switch can now transfer files between each other 10 times faster than before.
Pros: 1) Works Well
Overall Review: I purchased this because I ran out of the tiny tube that came with my ARCTIC AIO. It is a very nice paste that I would recommend for anyone up to a little bit of overclocking.
I used this on many different applications including my Ryzen 1600X OC to 4Ghz with cooler master 2x120mm cooler and I saw temps in the 60c range. I also used it on an old laptop that was thermal throttling due to old dry factory paste. Now I can OC that laptop's i52520m from 2.5Ghz base clock to 3Ghz and expect temps in the 65c range. Works great.
Pros: 1) Not bad to look at.
2) Keeps my Ryzen 1600X running at 4Ghz for hours on end at full load in the low to mid 60c range. My 240mm AIO only kept it <5c cooler.
3) Well made and easily installed.
Cons: 1) With the fans running full speed it is audible but not so much it's annoying. However, the only time I need to run the fans full speed is when over clocking to 4Ghz. I can run them at 50% at 3.8Ghz with my 1600X.
Overall Review: This is a well made cooler that's pleasant on the eyes and the ears. It's a good value.
Pros: 1) A lot of room to work.
2) Plenty of cooling options.
a: Can fit three 120mm or 140mm fans in the top.
b: Can fit three 120mm or 140mm fans in the bottom if the 5.25" drive bays are removed. Otherwise it will only fit two in the front.
c: Can fir two more 120mm fans in the bottom
d: Both the top and front are capable of fitting a 240mm, 280mm or 360mm radiator. But to fit a radiator in the front larger than 120mm you will have to remove the 5.25" drive bays or internal HDD bays.
3) Comes with easy to remove filter on the top and bottom.
4) Plenty of room for cable management.
Cons: 1) It's only con in my opinion is that the filter for the front cover is not as easy to clean as the top and bottom.
Overall Review: This is certainly a nice case for a budget build with just a splash of bling. It has plenty of room for a large GPU or multiple GPUs.
Pros: 1) Nice case that closes magnetically.
2) All the typical sizes needed for basic computer and small electronics work.
3) It is very similar to the iFix It kits but much cheaper priced and only a little cheaper quality.
Cons: Fortunately there's not a lot of cons
1) It is a cheaper quality than iFix It but it's perfectly fine for casual use.
Overall Review: I would recommend this product for anyone who only needs these tools on a fairly rare occasion. Although they will last me for years and years, if I used them everyday the tips would likely wear in a year.
Overall I give this product a passing score and recommend it for it's value.
