Good Value
Pros: good price multitasks well lightweight has empty bay for extra 2.5" SSD/HDD - uses included bracket and ribbon cable to sata adapter easy to open and access RAM, M.2 or extra drive bay runs esports games pretty well APU runs eevee opengl rendering pretty good
Cons: Keyboard is a little mushy but not too bad chassis flex is noticeable but not terrible depending on when it was manufactured, you might need to upgrade the bios in order to keep keyboard backlight from auto dimming. screen is a little dim. Plenty bright for indoor but outside on a bright day the screen seems dim
Overall Review: I think this Acer laptop is a good balance between power, performance and durability for its price point. The CPU is pretty much all the vast majority of people would ever need in a laptop. The integrated GPU/APU performs well. Plays 4K 60 hz YT videos just fine although the screen is only 1080p. I think it's a good buy.
My Thermal Paste of Choice
Pros: What can I say other than the mx-4 paste is all I use and it has never let me down.
Cons: none
Overall Review: It's a good thermal paste and it does what it does. I use it for CPUs and GPUs and it is a product I recommend.
My First NAS - Very Simple To Use
Pros: Simple to use and setup. Relatively quiet. Small footprint. Easy to access the DSM(operating system) through a web browser. Tooless 3.5" HDD trays work great. But keep in mind you do need a small philips for 2.5" SSD/HDD. SSD caching is easy to setup and makes a significant difference. Even though this is a refurbished unit, other than some extremely tiny cosmetic damage that you can't see unless you are looking for it, it seems like a new unit. It has four USB 3.0 ports on the back that can be used to attached USB HDDs or thumb drives. I even connected a Probox 4 bay DAS to it and it saw all four HDDs. You can map the "shared folders" to your windows machine and windows pretty much sees it as a network HDD. Allowing you to access it through file manager or pretty much any program just as you would if it were a HDD attached to your computer.
Cons: Wish the HDD tray lights were a little brighter.
Overall Review: I would recommend this for anyone who needs a centralized storage solution that can be accessed on your local home network or even through the internet.
Good HDD - Good Price
Pros: Cheap price Large capacity for the price Fast sequential read/write
Cons: Slow random read/write
Overall Review: I think it's a good drive and good value as long as you are using it for storage and not as an OS drive. The included image is when it was tested with a sata 3 cable on an x470 mb.
Good Value - Great Battery Life
Pros: 1) The clicks are nice and quiet but have noticeable tactile feedback. 2) Battery life so far is awesome. I started using this mouse 30 days ago and still have the included batteries. They still show full charge. 3) Fits my medium size hands nicely, 4) Extra buttons come in handy for macros but I must admit I rarely use the extra buttons. 5) Glides very smoothly across my mouse pad.
Cons: 1) The space on the side of the mouse(right handed use) where the thumb would rest is kinda small and it can be easy to accidentally press one of the side buttons in the front.
Overall Review: Overall I really like this mouse. I am not a gamer. I use a computer primarily a a 3D artist. Blender is my preferred 3D program. This mouse works great for this use. Very precise and easy to use. I spend about 10-12 hours a day using the mouse but relatively light use when compared to a gamer and the original battery has so far lasted 30 days. I have observed no signs of battery drain as of yet. The last time I used a wireless mouse was way back in the early 2000s and the battery lasted a few days at best. Having this mouse's battery so far last a month is orders of magnitude better. I was nervous about buying another wireless mouse. But I must admit I am pleasantly surprised.
Good Value
Pros: This 64GB 3600 ram replaced my 32GB 2133 ram. In gaming and 3D rendering applications that use cuda or the CPU, it made a noticeable difference. In physics based simulations with millions of particles or high resolution fluid sims, it made a significant difference in both simulation times and preview speeds.
Cons: There are none that I am aware of.
Overall Review: Please note that you may need to update your bios in order to get he RAM to work. I had to update my MSI X470 to the newest bios in order to get it to recognize the ram. No big deal, just something to keep in mind. I probably only needed to update the bios because I don't have an X570. The 3900X that I have is designed for the X570 and the X470 only works because of a bios update. Also pay attention to the timings and make sure you select the correct timings in the bios. If you are using AMD 3000 series, make sure you "couple" the infinity fabric speed to the ram speed. It will run more efficient.
Good Seller
I have ordered from Corn through Newegg a few times and never had any issues.
Typical good newegg experience
Exactly as advertised and exactly what I needed.
Shipping was a little slow but arrived none the less.
It took a little longer to get the product than I would have liked but it arrived as described and well packaged.
