Excellent for the buck
Comments: I bought this drive a few months ago, and this bad boy has been put through hell by me. It hasn't had as much as a hiccup. I have never had a problem with WD, and I don't think I ever will. Maxtor on the other hand....
Does the job
Pros: Reads DVDs great. Awesome price
Cons: it's black, but that's not important
Overall Review: I got this in literally the next days after I ordered it, and I had the regular 3 day shipping method. I put it in my HTPC machine, and it fired right up flawlessly.
Good Board, but improper use of ATX 2.2
Pros: TINY!! It's nice and zippy in operation with 1Gb if DDR400 ram
Cons: The board needs a 24 pin ATX connector when PCIexpress isn't in use.
Overall Review: This board is destined for carputer use, and it's quite tiny, but powerful to get the job done. However, Biostar is pulling power of some soft off of the additional 4 pins that were added in the ATX2.2 standard for controlling power. You should be able to run this board with only a 20-pin powersupply, but you can't turn it off, it just restarts if you try to turn it off. The only thing that fixed it was plugging in a 24-pin ATX power connector. If you can't use a 24-pin power connector for any reason, shy away from this motherboard. Otherwise, it's a kick*ss board.
Sweet, but DOA is bad :(
Pros: HUGE freaknign fast drive
Cons: 1 of the 2 drives I ordered came in DOA
Overall Review: Drive is super-sweet, but one of the two drives I recieved was DOA. During inistal power-up, the heads make a cycle noise and the drive does not get listed in the BIOS. Gonna have to return it for a replacement.... :(
