They seem to work12/29/2016 3:29:17 PM

Pros: Functional

Cons: Incredibly thin and poorly made.

Overall Review: You're better off spending $2 on a single good cable than two of these crapo ones for $1.20.

Either defective or not as advertised.8/28/2016 8:21:55 AM

Pros: - Looks okay - Screwless and quick to attach to case.

Cons: - Moves little to no air - I'd be shocked if it was breaking 20 CFM

Overall Review: - Not worth the hassle of returning, got it 30 or 40% off. - I tried both adapters, and multiple configurations. This thing simply moves no air. It may actually be restricting airflow at this point as the positive case pressure would push more air out of the vent with no fan assisting.

You can ignore most of the 1 stars, but this is pretty average4/24/2016 10:25:27 PM

Pros: - Easy to open, drive drops right in

Cons: - Tried dropping 50gb of pictures onto the drive and it kept randomly losing connection after 15-20gb, then I dropped the files in batches of 5gb (x10) it worked fine, this is on windows 10

Overall Review: - I've had zero issues with the drive going to sleep and not waking up (windows 10) - The 1 star review b/c the guy couldn't open it .... lol - The top plate is metal, the sides are all plastic, the back where the case opens is plastic - "non-standard usb 3.0 cable" review, lol. Apparently the guy never saw a usb 3.0 cable before and thinks the extra part for power is "non-standard". - Like most chinese companies, I doubt Orico even manufacturers this thing. It's most likely rebranded, so I wouldn't expect a lot of tech support. - Not going to bother finding out, but the sata-usb controller on this thing is probably complete garbage (the cheapest mass produced thing they make in china), you're not buying quality here - so expecting your ssd to hit 500mb/s is idiotic.

Great cooler, mediocre fan9/25/2015 8:44:24 AM

Pros: I own three of these coolers for my two main PC's and my HTPC (use it overclocked from time to time as a MAME machine). They work far better than stock coolers and can be had for $20 after rebate or on sale. My buddy with little tech knowledge was able to install one as well, so they're not overly difficult to install.

Cons: The fans are shoddy and die after a few years. Maybe it's just the way they're constructed that they have a short life but I replaced two so far with cougar fans. The fans also cost $10 to replace (half the cost of brand new).

2 years zero problems9/25/2015 8:37:57 AM

Pros: Have been running these fans for over 2 years with no issues, even replaced the fan on my hyper 212 with one of these after the hyper 212 fan died. Shame they're not sold by newegg anymore, though you can look around and find them for $20 from time to time for a 4 pack.

Cons: They're orange? I mean that's the only thing you could possibly knock them for.

Would buy again3/26/2015 4:12:00 PM

Pros: Stable, specs match the product page. After running this ssd as my system drive on a htpc for about 7 months straight I just ran AS SSD Benchmark and got sequential 500.93mb read, 120.20mb write.

Cons: Not as fast as the 256gb force lx or the 128gb force gs.

Overall Review: I went with the force lx at the time due to cost savings. The force lx was on sale and was ~$20 cheaper than comparable drives.

XMP to 2400 easy3/26/2015 3:58:20 PM

Pros: Got it up and running @ 2400 10-11-11 on a msi pc mate z97 within a few minutes of installing.

Cons: Not the biggest fan of the design, would rather have the smaller Ares series heatsinks. But the Ares series is CL11 and didn't want to deal with instability trying to get them to run lower.

Overall Review: Been using this ram (2x4gb) @ 2400mhz pretty much 24/7 since august of 2014 with zero issues.

Good $30 PSU3/26/2015 3:52:01 PM

Pros: Cost less than $30 to my door. Has been running basically 24/7 since august 2014 with zero issues.

Cons: Wish it had more connections. Has 4 modular connection spots, wish it had 6.

Overall Review: Price seems to have gone way up but it goes on sale quite a bit.

Artificial msrp3/26/2015 3:41:06 PM

Pros: They're $20 headphones with a msrp of $200. They're always on sale (usually directly from veloydyne's website) for $20-25 sometimes with a free skin. They're about what you'd expect for $20, not great, not bad. Not bass heavy, okay mids and highs. Better than the $20 pair you'll find at the local electronics store (which are probably $10 headphones marked up to cover overhead). Design could go either way, some people love it some hate it.

Cons: The detachable cable would be a pro if the one they included wasn't some generic oem. And it's really short. The one included out of the box was not only cheap it was faulty and I ended up ordering another online. I emailed customer service to let them know (as I didn't know if it was a short in the actual headphones until new one arrived) and their response, copied and pasted: "From what you are describing it¹s difficult for me to determine if you have a defective cable or the connection on the headphone itself is defective. Best thing to do is to test it out with another 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable ($3 at your local electronics shop)." Quality customer service from a company that wants to charge $200 for their headphones, lol.

Overall Review: Also comes with a velvety carry bag with velodyne branding.

definite value1/7/2015 6:24:21 PM

Pros: Been a PS+ member since the month it came out and hundreds of games later I do not regret it. Newegg has some good promos now and again where you'll be able to snag a year for $3 a month.

Cons: Unless you're jobless you're going to receive more games from this than you'll have time to play. But they're not always games you'd want to play or even purchase. Sony likes to have sales where PS+ members get huge discounts on games, then 2-3 months later announce those games as upcoming "free games on PS+" after you've purchased. It'll make you quit buying games from their online store. It'll only take a few times of getting burned before you stop buying during those sales.

Avoid if you don't like downloading mods1/7/2015 6:14:08 PM

Pros: Once I installed enough mods I found the game more fun than 3. And seeing as you can mod it and download mods for this game, a lot of the cons can be eliminated.

Cons: If you do not mod this game, it would be a 1 egg. It's bad. Key features (since 3 & even 4) have been removed. I am not sure if this was to simplify the game - didn't work - or the dev team doesn't even play their own game. Before purchasing the game head to subsim and check out the mods / how to install them / thread. If you're not comfortable with mods then save your money, or just buy SH3.

As expected1/7/2015 6:06:13 PM

Pros: I don't use the switch to transfer files between computers so can't comment on the speed but there is no slowdown for devices connected to the internet through this switch. I do stream movies between a server and devices connected to the switch (usually between 4-20mbps) and there is zero slowdown. Zero setup, just plug everything in.

Cons: none

Overall Review: Not a fan of wireless when I can avoid it, and I have 2 PCs, 2 consoles, and a tv, and my tivo all needing internet. $5 fix to a lack of connections on my wireless router (4).

Good filler1/7/2015 6:00:05 PM

Pros: I use this 1ft cable from my wireless router to my 8port switch and works. Good filler item if you have a need for it.

Cons: none

It's worth $20.8/5/2014 11:21:10 PM

Pros: It's roomy, and good airflow options. Plenty of room for 3.5" hdds (using mine as a media server). I was also looking at the cougar spike atx case when it was on sale but it didn't have enough 3.5" spots without buying adapters for the 5.25" bays. The case is light, I was surprised when I picked up the box. USB 3.0 on the front.

Cons: My only gripe about this case is the front panel design. What a pain to get it off to install the front fans. There are 4 screws that need to be removed before it pops off, unlike almost every other case I've used where a little tug can pull the panel off. Getting the screws back in was more of an issue than getting them out. Could just be fat fingers. The included fan was black (not orange as pictured). However, it seems to be a match for the orange cougar CF-T12S4 fans I also picked up just with black blades.

Overall Review: The case is almost the same exact size as my Antec 300. I understand some of the negative reviews or marks people gave the case for being "flimsy" but I find it completely acceptable. I had to LOL at the guy complaining it dented when he dropped the case... well duh? Don't drop it. The only advantage I see in sturdier cases is noise dampening but I use silent fans and with 6 fans running (cooling a lot of hdds) it's virtually silent. Also the bottom 2.5" ssd is perfectly fine despite what any reviewer says. Don't use angled sata cables (duh they don't work in a variety of cases for 2.5" mounts) and plug them into the ssd before mounting it - problem solved. Anyone with any competence will find this case a good bargain, especially when you get it for $20.

Genuine PS3 Dualshock 33/27/2013 2:25:24 AM

Pros: Same controller that comes with the red system bundle, G-of-war bundle, etc. It's genuine and not some $10 Chinese knock-off. Well I guess it's technically made in China, but it's 1st party Sony.

Cons: None. Reminds me of my ps1 controller.

Overall Review: It baffles me how some people can be so uninformed that they purchase knock-off controllers and don't know until they get them and they break or don't work. That fact that newegg lets 3rd party sellers try to pawn their "P3" knock-offs on newegg is disgusting.

It's an HDMI cable, nothing special or "Premium"3/27/2013 2:05:24 AM

Pros: As expected, it works. It's nothing special, it's not thicker or sturdier than a $1 HDMI cable you can find on wholesale.

Cons: Price perhaps

Overall Review: I can't tell this apart from the 20-pack of 6ft cables I bought recently for less than $1 a piece. However, I specifically needed a 10ft cable so I picked this up. Not sure what "Nippon Labs" is as these cables look GENERIC and there is no logo on the cable whatsoever that distinguishes it from cheaper options. It comes in a sealed plastic bag (also unlabeled). I assume Nippon Labs simply resells HDMI cables and has no input on the manufacture of these. (Guessing they buy these cables for less than a dollar and resell them for $6).

3/15/2013 3:09:21 PM

Pros: Looks great. I've been eyeing some 27" IPS panels for the last 3-4 months before jumping on this VA panel. This panel has better blacks than any of the IPS monitors I had been looking at and the input lag is very very low. Didn't take long to calibrate using the calibration site. Out of the box it's bright, contrast is too high and it's slightly red. Took about 3 minutes to fix.

Cons: As another reviewer mentioned you need to hook this monitor up via VGA before you can select any other inputs (hdmi or dvi). There is an "auto" button on the side that failed to auto detect a dvi or hdmi signal. I had to use the included (only includes a vga) vga cable to get into the menu and select hdmi input. Luckily my motherboard had a vga output because my video card does not. So I had to go into my bios, enable my built in Intel 4000 graphics, connect the vga cable to my motherboard, boot, use the OSD menu to select HDMI, and THEN reboot with the hdmi connected to my video card. Kind of a pain.

Overall Review: The OSD menu should really function without being hooked up to a computer to avoid the problem stated above. That, or the "Auto" button should actually do something. Haven't noticed any ghosting, and it has ZERO dead/stuck pixels. I didn't really notice the out of the box red hue until after I had calibrated it in User Mode and then switching back and forth between User and Standard to see the difference.

Decent board, perfect for the price12/22/2012 11:41:12 PM

Pros: Just because biostar isn't known for being top shelf of motherboard manufacturers doesn't mean they don't make quality products. This motherboard works as expected and the inclusion of the hi-fi audio was a good choice. I was able to overclock my A10 to 4400mhz in about 5minutes and it runs stable. It came with 8gb of g.skill ram for free which was a nice bonus and it read the memory at the right speed and latency without having to play around.

Cons: My only gripe is that the ram slots are too close to the cpu (wish they were about 2mm farther away) and when installing a hyper 212 cooler I had to adjust the heatsink fan UP about 2mm to clear the ram. And that is with low profile ram (no huge ram heatsinks sticking out).

Overall Review: If you're going to add an aftermarket cooler to you're setup with this board, avoid ram with huge heatsinks and stick to low-profile stuff.

best value12/22/2012 11:32:34 PM

Pros: They're quiet (as quiet as some $10/each hydro-dynamic fans I have in another build). Didn't have any weird noises as the handful of 1egg reviews have suggested.

Cons: They don't push much air. Of course you should know that if you look at the details before buying the things 40cfm for a 12cm fan isn't much. The cables are relatively short.

Overall Review: They're also all 3-pin with no adapters but again you should have seen that in the description. If you need adapters you can find packs of 3-4pin adapters from Apevia for pretty cheap on this site.

Works as expected12/22/2012 11:23:33 PM

Pros: No additional graphics card needed and you can still play modern games at a decent frame rate.

Cons: None really. The APU is EXACTLY what I thought it would be and the performance is EXACTLY what I found it would be when I researched BEFORE I BOUGHT IT.

Overall Review: It overclocks very easily and without many hiccups. I got it up to 4.4ghz with a slight voltage increase. Passmark score puts this thing around an i3 for computing power, but the integrated graphics blow any of the sandy/ivy bridge integrated (intel 2500, 3000, and 4000) solutions out of the water. I will never understand people that buy this processor and then add a discrete card to it. If you're going to add a discrete card then buy an i3 or look elsewhere and pick up an i5 for $40 more.

Best $30 cooler out there12/22/2012 11:08:09 PM

Pros: - Got it on sale for $29.99 after rebate & instant discount. - 80plus bronze - PC Power and Cooling make amazing PSUs - Modular - Single rail - 5 year warranty

Cons: This is my 3rd PC Power and Cooling PSU I've purchased for builds in the last year (also have the 950w and 750w Mk II series). The ONLY bad thing I can say is the rebate can take a while to get back even if you opt for "rush processing" which costs $3. The rebates on the last two PSUs did eventually come though (American Express prepaid card).

Overall Review: 400w at this efficiency is more than enough for MOST systems.

Amazing cooler for the price12/22/2012 10:58:15 PM

Pros: It cools way better than any stock heatsink/fan and it's usually on sale for $15-20 after rebate. Optional 2nd fan hookup for a push/pull (ideally you'd need to spend $10 for the coolermaster blade 12cm fan) A blindman could install this thing.

Cons: I've used this cooler on a few builds and the only con that comes up again and again is that it's big and can infringe on your RAM space. It's always the fan that is running into the RAM but you can easily solve it by moving the fan up a little bit (it can side up and down the heatsink) I use low profile ram when I buy this heatsink and I still usually end up moving the fan 1-3mm.

Overall Review: If you buy RAM with extravagant heatsinks you may run into a problem with this cooler.

Great case12/22/2012 10:50:41 PM

Pros: - The brushed aluminum looks nice - Fan slots (8) everywhere allow you to customize the airflow however you want - AC97 & HD Audio out for front port.

Cons: The only real con of this case is that the front USB slots are 2.0 and NOT 3.0. Some may consider it a negative that it comes with no fans, I personally prefer it.

Overall Review: I'd use this case in future builds over the ever so popular Antec 300 which I've used a few times. They're practically the same case except the XCLIO has more fan options. They're about the same size as well.

Works well before it breaks10/1/2012 11:21:00 AM

Pros: Cools laptop well. Adjustable fans let you put the airflow right on the hotspots.

Cons: The fan assembly is fragile and cheap. The three fans are all wired to a clip which can adjust fan speed. However, the fans are not actually soldered to the control. The USB is also wired to the clip but not soldered to it. I had the USB side of the clip pull out twice (had to unscrew the clip and push the red/white wires back on). That worked once but since they aren't soldered they come right back off. 2nd time it no longer worked, not sure if it shorted the clip or what.

Overall Review: If they would simply solder connections between the fans and the usb connector this cooler would be a 4/5 5/5. The metal pad is solid and comfortable.

Works with a usb hub7/6/2012 8:19:24 PM

Pros: It was cheaper than other dvi kvm alternatives. Rosewill customer support is fast and helpful. Switches computers in about 2 seconds.

Cons: No pass through on the keyboard port - only mouse port. Doesn't function 100% without a usb hub (using a $4 iogear that I had laying around).

Overall Review: I have both PCs right next to each other so cable length (about 2 1/2 ft) wasn't an issue. This keyboard DOES work with gaming keyboards and mice given you use a usb hub along with the kvm switch. You need to enable mouse bypass (Scroll Lock + Scroll Lock + M + ENTER). This will allow anything you plug into the mouse port to pass through directly to the computer without emulation. Emulation is the reason most people cannot get their gaming mice or keyboards to work. I had a steelseries 6gv2 keyboard hooked up to the keyboard usb slot and the shift, control, and alt keys would not register. I had to plug the keyboard and mouse into a usb hub, which then plugged into the pass-through mouse port of the kvm switch and it works flawlessly. Does it suck that you have to spend $5 more for gaming mice and keyboards to work? Yes. But it's not 1-2 egg worthy. The switch otherwise operates great. I suppose rosewill could include a 2-port usb hub in the package to make things proper.
