Clarity Like Never Before
Pros: 144hz makes a world of difference I noticed right away, no longer does games seem to have that "motion blur" when I turn around compared to my 60hz monitor. Color is great once you set up the monitor right (see other thoughts)
Cons: Colors out of box is rather bland and super bright white. It's rather pricey I suppose I wish I had paid the extra for the 27 inch version of this as my old 60hz monitor was 27 inch...this thing seems small.
Overall Review: To get color great, go to ASUS website and download the drivers and color profile. Google "how to use an ICC profile" . Use the STANDARD setting and set the user color of RED = 96, GREEN = 94, and BLUE = 88. Turn brightness down to 35 and run Windows color calibration to just set the gamma right (use clear type too).
Pros: It worked and came with free 8 GB's of ram that worked too. Is a good home for my old i3 -2120 to sit in. Second Biostar mobo. They haven't let me down yet.
Cons: Between the layout of the connectors and the mobo install holes in the Rosewell Redbone case, o...m....g. I had to take off the top of the case to get the two top screws scre_wed in. The Audio Header is in the most stupid place, and the two screw holes near the ram and sata holes don't have any holes that line up in the case itself...so only 6 / 8 are in use.
Overall Review: Don't know if it was this mobo or the cases fault for lousy screw hole placement, but the connectors on this board are ridiculous. Will buy Biostar agian, just not this board.
Still One of The Best
Pros: - 144hz - still using it - had extra warranty on it even if refurbished
Cons: - it was refurbished when I bought it (like it matters as not even 1 dead pixel or scratch) - it's a good "con" to have, but I'm glad I didn't have to deal with using the extra warranty I bought - even refurbished, it was super expensive
Overall Review: - although refurbished, it came like it was brand new and has not once let me down - I would recommend even today as it is still one of the best.\
Pros: -Had old trusty since launch day, still using it OC'd for 4 years and still runs great -Blows heat out of case instead of all over your components inside, while not disrupting airflow from the case fans.
Cons: -it doesn't transform into the latest GPU : (
Overall Review: -I wish I had 2 for SLI just because todays cares are absurd in price -long over due review but it is an honest one as I've had it over 4 years now.
Pros: -Moves A LOT of air (around 60% more than CM 932 Advanced factory fans) I bought two other plain black ones too. -Dropped my SLI 780's temps gaming by 8 - 10 degrees
Cons: The screw holes would NOT line up AT ALL where the front fan is on a Cooler Master 932 Advanced. I tried for half an hour and the best I could get matched up was the top two holes.
Overall Review: I just put in the top two holes and I wedged an electrical tape between the bottom part of the fans housing and the HDD rack so it would not rattle and flop around when it was turned on. Overall (now that it's installed and pushing air) I'm happy with the purchase, but I am always thinking about the screw holes.....
