How to disable onboard video

MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Before I bought this board I downloaded the pdf manual to check the features of the bios. Both the pdf manual and the manual I recieved with the board I actually bought, both say there is an option to disable the intergrated video. But with the 3.1 bios that the current board is shipped with there is not an option to disable the onboard video, only an option enable or disable SLI.

Cons: Having to contact tech support to to get a bios (3.22) that will give me the option to disable the onboard video and having to wait for the bios to be emailed. Instead of listing the bios update for download, you have to contact tech support about the problem. Then you learn they have a bios update that they can email to you.

Overall Review: I don't review a product that I don't own or have first hand Knowlege of. This is a good stable board but the way MSI is handling this bios update sort of sucks. My contact the MSI tech support to resolve my problem was very quick (via phone) and informative. But it was a call that I should not have needed to make.

DLO Clear Jam Jacket for RAZR 005-2001
DLO Clear Jam Jacket for RAZR 005-2001

Pros: It will protect your razr from scratches

Cons: I ordered the Clear model. Well it is as opaque as wax paper. It is not very form fitting at the areas next to the hinge, with material flopping away from the phone. And this "Jam" jacket prevents the phone from folding all the way closed.

Problem solved

Thermaltake W0158RU 650 W SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC VGA Power Supply
Thermaltake W0158RU 650 W SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC VGA Power Supply

Pros: I need 850 watts + for my current system and I don't have the space needed for a PSU that large. It mounted in a couple of unused drive bays and the installation is very simple. It powers on with the system and is quiet and cool running.

Cons: The leds are very bright. If you have your case on your desk top you are going to need shades.

Easy

MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Good design with lots of space. Bios is easy to overclock. Plenty fo fan headers. Two IDE and a floppy connector for those that need them. Will support the new 140 watt cpus. It was an easy install. Booted Xp the first time even though I was switching from an AMD chipset board. Did a fresh Xp install afterwards.

Cons: Location of the second IDE and the floppy connector is a little ackward. Only four sata connectors if not using raid. The bios has no option to disable the on board video and no overheat or fan failure monitoring.

Overall Review: I replaced a dead(90 days old) Amd chipset board with this. Glad to get back to an nvidia board. I am running a 9850 be at 2940Mhz (210x14) and a EVGA 9800gx2 (700-1700-1100) both liquid cooled at stock voltage.

Better

BELKIN F8GFPC200 N52TE Tournament Edition
BELKIN F8GFPC200 N52TE Tournament Edition

Pros: Compared to my old N52 the TEs keys and dpad are a great improvement. The shift and circle keys aren't stiff like the old N52 and the responce is better. The feel of the TE to me is more crisp, not mushy like my old N52.

Cons: Software is not as easy to use. The price is high compared to the old unit.

Overall Review: For those complaining about the joystick it comes off. Tape or a sharpie will tone down the leds. The backlights are useless for gaming. If you are still using a keyboard for gaming stick with it. One of these won't improve your game at all. ;)

good board

ABIT AX78 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard
ABIT AX78 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Good layout except for the floppy location. The heatsinks/heatpipe keep the PWM and NB cool. Lots of fan headers. The bios gives many options for overclocking. I am running a Phenom 9850 slightly OCed to 2695ghz at stock voltage. The PWM temp runs 41c and the CPU temp maxes at 42c while playing COD4. I am using a Thermaltake Typhoon VX for cooling.

Cons: Floppy location

Overall Review: I used EVGA's stepup to get a 9800gx2. I wanted a board with support for the 125watt Phenoms and PCIe 2. I got it with this and without all the extra bells and whistles that I will not use like firewire or crossfire. I switched from Abit to Gigabyte a few years ago. This is my first Abit board since Nforce2 and I am very satisfied.
