Great Card8/29/2011 8:09:03 AM

Pros: Purchased this card to prepare for BF3 and I couldn't be happier. Have been playing MoH that I got with the pre-order of BF3 and I consistently get 70-100FPS with all settings set to advanced/high. During heavy gunfights, it occasionally dips to mid 60's but I cannot even tell the difference. Card also runs cool. After a 2 hour heavy gaming session it consistently runs between 68-70C and it doesn't make much noise when running at full load.

Cons: Though not an issue for me, this card is HUGE! It was much bigger than I had expected so make sure it can fit your case.

Overall Review: The IceQ cooling feature seems to do a good job with keeping this card in the high 60's and not much above that. On a side note, I got my rebate from HIS within 3 weeks, which is a very good turnaround time. I am very happy with HIS and with this card.

Great8/29/2011 7:56:25 AM

Pros: Bracket installed flawlessly on a MSI P67A-C43 (rev B) mobo and took less than 2 minutes to get it mounted. It saved me over $50 by allowing me to use an older Zalman CPU HSF instead of buying a new one. Also comes with thermal grease, for those interested.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Works great with the Zalman CNPS-7700-CU model which was cooling my Q6700 for 3 years. Moved the cooler to my new 2500k build using this bracket and it keeps my 2500k nice and cool. OC'ed to 4.2ghz and the CPU doesn't go above 55 C while running Prime95 for 12+ hours.

Nice RAM7/27/2011 6:57:34 AM

Pros: Enabled XMP in BIOS and this RAM quickly lowered its voltage from 1.4ish to 1.25 at the rated 1600 speeds. I played a few games for a few hours followed by Prime95 and when I shut the PC off, the RAM sticks felt warm, at best. The low voltage really makes a difference when it comes to heat.

Cons: None really, besides the heatsinks being a little bit on the tall side which kept hitting my Zalman CPU HSF but I just moved them over to slots 2 and 4 and problem was solved (this is more of a Zalman issue than a G.Skill one).

Overall Review: Very good set of RAM. The low voltage will not save you much on your electric bill, but it will save your PC from more heat that higher voltages create and extend the life of the CPU and RAM itself, as Sandy Bridge doesn't like high voltages. Why buy a set of RAM at the rated 1600 speeds that consumes 1.5v when you can get these? Plus, you can OC this set of RAM and have some leeway when it comes to the voltages as you'll have more room for error compared to a set of RAM that already runs at 1.5v as default.

Very good but not too durable7/29/2010 10:03:03 PM

Pros: Incredible sound, very comfortable fit, and gives you 3 size silicones to match your ears. The sound is amazing!

Cons: They tend to stop working after roughly 1 year even with below average usage.

Overall Review: These ear phones are worth every penny. The sound they produce are completely amazing and I have yet to find anything else that can match its sound (besides $200 full headphones). The neck "string" Bose supplies to hold them up during physical activity (running) is an added plus because these ear phones lasted less than 10 seconds in my ear while running. However, be warned that sweat entering your ear will cause the silicone tips to fall off but that is not Bose's fault. The only problem I have with these is they aren't durable. I bought a set over 3 years ago and they lasted barely over a year because the cord slowly ripped at the end exposing the internal wires. I bought another pair a little over a year ago and just last week the left ear phone just completely stopped working. When I wiggled the cord, some sound would come out but that was it. Needless to say, I purchased yet another set because these are just that good.

Does its job very well11/28/2007 10:58:17 PM

Pros: Took this out of an x2 3800+ and put it on a Q6700 and it does its job nicely. Keeps the Q6700 idling at 37 degrees and maxes out at 51 degrees under stress. Most importantly, it is very quiet and its size helps cool other components on the board.

Cons: It is a dust magnet. Over the course of 1 year, it accumulated dust in the bottom fins to the point that regular compressed cans wouldn't get rid of it. I had to use a big compressor to clear the dust. It is rather large and may interfere with slots on your motherboard (particularly RAM).

Overall Review: Believe it or not, installation was rather easy. Compared to other heatsinks that cut you and are too large, this is one is nearly perfect.

Fast11/28/2007 10:54:23 PM

Pros: This thing is blazing fast. It runs circles around my previous x2 3800+ and I can get things done much faster compared to before.

Cons: Not much difference between this and the Q6600 to justify the price, but I got a good deal on it from Intel.

Overall Review: Haven't tried to overclock but at default speeds, its idling at 38 and maxes at 51. Good overclocking ability and it will last for years.

Best bang for buck11/28/2007 10:50:29 PM

Pros: Popped these two sticks into an Intel board (DG33TL) and the board found them automatically and automatically set them up at the speeds advertises. The price for 4gb itself is worth 5 stars alone. This is without a doubt the best bang for buck RAM out there and believe it or not, its actually a very good performer.

Cons: G.Skill is not respected among the big boys yet. Shame, but they will get there with products like this.

Overall Review: Got a 5.8 rating in Vista. For the price, its a must have. As usual, Newegg was excellent in their shipment.

Good PSU6/5/2007 3:32:53 PM

Pros: Very big fan on the PSU allows it to cool the PSU and the case as well. The Trio idles at 29 C and maxes out at 35 C according to SpeedFan.

Cons: Clogs up the case with all the connectors and its hard to navigate through the system with all the clutter.

Overall Review: Been running this puppy for nearly half a year and I recently upgraded to an 8600GTS and a dual-core CPU with the aging socket 939 and it powers everything flawlessly and the voltages are pretty stable. Unfortunately, I couldnt say that about the Antec NeoPower that lasted me less than a year.

Best MLB Game5/26/2007 2:47:36 PM

Pros: Best baseball simulation game I've ever played. The gameplay is so authentic and realistic it looks like you are watching a real baseball game. The pitching system adds another level of fun to the game. I am not a baseball fanatic of any sort, but after watching a few trailers, I bought this game the day it was released and haven't regretted it.

Cons: A few minor bugs here and there such as your first base coach having the uniform of your opponent (happens once in a while). Graphics are not to par with 2k7, but the gameplay makes up for it and it is clearly better than 2k7.

Overall Review: This is more of a sim game than an arcade game, such as 2k7. In 2k7 you can hit 7 homers per game while in MLB 07, good luck hitting three. Best baseball game out and it will only get better.

Good while it worked12/2/2006 9:19:02 PM

Pros: When it worked, it burned every show I threw at it without any issues and supported all DVD's I purchased. Cost me a few hundred when I bought it a couple of years ago but it was the newest and one of the most affordable ones. Plays movies, music, and shows pictures like its supposed to.

Cons: No DivX support, which isn't really the machines fault since it was released a few years ago when I purchased it. Out of nowhere, this thing started to act like it was a bootleg machine. I have to spend a good 5 minutes every time I put a DVD in because it keeps opening and closing the tray nonstop even when the power is turned off. When its in, it tells me to close the tray and when the tray is out, it tells me cannot read disc. Takes a good 10 seconds to stop recording, which is too long.

Overall Review: This device works good while it lasts. For the price now, it does a good job but if it starts acting on you out of nowhere, get ready to beat the machine up because it just gets me on my nerves.

Good PSU12/2/2006 9:10:55 PM

Pros: Sufficient power to run practically any system without sweating. Cables are clearly labeled for starters and it was an easy install. Built in fan does a good job removing hot air from the case and PSU itself.

Cons: For the price and quality, they should've at least sleeved the cables to look neat.

Overall Review: I mostly trust Antec when it comes to PSU's and this unit is replacing my Antec Neopower that somehow died on me after just over a year of usage even though it was rated for 80,000 hours MTBF at 50 degrees (PSU barely reached 40 degrees). Nonetheless, I trust Antec enough to go back to them and I definitely recommend this PSU for power hungry or future power hungry systems.

Excellent Card8/11/2006 7:35:16 AM

Pros: Very fast speeds that this card provides. When adding it to my Canon SD450 camera, pictures save within a split second and browsing through the hundreds of photos also gives me no delays. Very fast card and the best out there for the money.

Cons: None experienced.

Overall Review: The price of this card makes it a steal and a half. I was planning to go with Corsair, whom are more reputable, but I gave Patriot a try and I do not regret. Newegg gets another 5 stars for great service!

One of the best6/30/2006 4:22:18 PM

Pros: Very bright, vivid colors thanks to its 700:1 contrast ratio (one of the best contrast ratios around for the price) and its 8ms refresh rate is all you will need to watch movies, play games, and just browse the web. Samsung, without a doubt, is one of the best LCD makers in the world. Five EASY stars for this monitor.

Cons: It did not come with a DVI cable, only VGA, which was disappointing, but considering the price, I am not complaining. I recommend using this monitor through a DVI connection for a sharper image.

Overall Review: I cannot believe Newegg is carrying this monitor now. I bought mine at Bxxt Bxx earlier this year with my employee discount and now Newegg has it for nearly half the price. Newegg defintely has the best prices and hardware around.

Good overall player6/29/2006 7:06:09 PM

Pros: I have owned this player for over two years (didn't think it was in existence any more) and for the past two years, it has worked wonderfully well. It records with very good quality and so far, it has worked with every blank DVD I bought from Fuji, Legacy, and Memorex.

Cons: I have bought a few DVD's that do not work on this player. One that comes to mind is SWAT which must be played from my PS2 in order for me to watch it. This player takes a long time to load and it takes over 10 seconds to stop recording after you pressed stop.

Overall Review: Very good player, considering I bought it back when it was three times as much as it costs now. Does its job wonderfully, despite taking look to stop recording and not playing a handful of DVD's.

Cons: None

Free and good5/30/2006 5:47:54 AM

Pros: Got them free with my order of a DVDRW drive. Have used seven already on my dvd recorder on my TV to record some shows and it works very nicely.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: Can't argue when you get a pack of 25 DVD's for the price of a free slice of bread.

Great gaming Headset5/30/2006 5:45:47 AM

Pros: This headset is one of the best headsets I have had for gaming. Combined with an X-FI sound card, it provides you with an astonishing realism of sound when playing games, most notably BF2. I find the headset very comfortable, thanks to its padding on both ears and on top of the headset, so it doesn't irritate your head. Unlike my previous three headsets, these do no hurt after hours of using them, finally. Mic is also very clear.

Cons: This headset is not ideal for music. The bass on this headset is really, really loud and it distorts almost all of my music, unless I go to my sound options and lower my bass level drastically. The wires are a bit thin, prone to breaking, but if you take care of the headset, it won't give you any issues.

Overall Review: Newegg gets my 5 stars for very fast shipping (1 1/2 days) coupled with service. All in all, this headset is very good for its money, VERY good. Don't look to use this for music, unless you want to lower your bass level almost all the way down. Hands down, the best gaming headset for the price!

Does the job2/3/2006 10:27:08 AM

Pros: -Lowered my CPU temp by 7 degrees on average. -Does what its advertized to do. -Best on the market. -Newegg shipped within 48 hours

Cons: -Even a little drop can massively cover a CPU. Have to be careful not too put too much or else it won't work.

Overall Review: Best thermal paste to get whether you're using a HSF or a Zalman HSF. It will last for more than a year if using on only one computer.

The Best2/3/2006 10:19:41 AM

Pros: Wow, the pros. This heatsink is so well manufactured to dissipate heat that its not even funny. Its massive size shouldn't be a reason to not get it because it does one hell of a job, especially with an 120mm fan. I replaced my stock AMD Venice 3500+ HSF and after installing this big boy accompanied by some Arctic Silver 5, my temperatures went down 6 degrees in idle mode and 12 degrees when in load. 31/43 idle/load after Zalman 37/55 idle/load before Zalman

Cons: - Installation. Took more than an hour due to the disconnected of all my components and all the wires. - Size. Size isn't a problem to me, but it may be to others. The HSF cleared my RAM slot on my A8N Premium by this much -

Overall Review: Though huge, this is one of the best alternatives to watercooling that you can get. Does one hell of a job keeping your computer running at good temps. As usual, Newegg shipped it within two days. Six stars for Newegg.

Pros: Quiet, reliable, powerful, and last but not least, its Antec.

Cons: No extra cord included to SLI.

Overall Review: For all of you guys asking if this supports SLI'd 7800GT's, the answer is simple: yes. I have been running 2 x BF 7800GT's for the past 3 months 24/7 and I haven't noticed no performance issues PSU wise.

Comments: For the price, these are the best speakers you can get. They produce amazing sound during movie playback and gaming as well as listening to music. What would've been better is if they made a remote for these speakers to adjust the bass on the sub so we don't have to reach over and adjust the nob.

Comments: Replaced my MX518 for this mouse and I am glad I did. The G5 is much more precise with its laser technology, but overall, its weight grams is what sets it apart from others. Adding weight to the mouse really adds to the gaming experience. I would definitely recommend this mouse for gaming needs.

Best PSU, Period!10/18/2005 10:16:41 PM

Comments: I was using this wonderfuly PSU on my new rig for the past month until I was stupid enough to replace it with a 500W NeoHE. After going through two NeoHE's that shut my pc down every 10 minutes, I returned to the Neopower and I am grateful there is such a good PSU like this one. The dual 12v rails do a great job distributing the power to its components while maintaining very good voltage ratings, according to ASUS Probe. Without a shout of a doubt, this has to be one of the best PSU's that were ever made. For reliability, quality, and silence, Neopower is the way to go.

Comments: Bought this PSU to replace my NeoPower for an SLI based on 2 x 7800GT's. Unfortunately, my first PSU kept shutting down my PC every 10 minutes with and without SLI, so I got it exchanged. Just got my 2nd PSU and this time it just shuts down randomly whenever I am browsing the web or doing anything (this with minimal being powered). Very poor PSU from what I see. I am very ashamed at Antec since I am one of their long-term customers.

Amazing8/24/2005 10:10:18 PM

Comments: Without thinking twice, I purchased this keyboard knowing it was something worthy. Man, was I right! This keyboard sports a great look and its keys are very quiet, compared to my old Logitech keyboard. Not to mention its lights blend in well and offer me assistance late night when typing. Definitely worth the money.
