Decent combo package deal
Pros: Good price at the time. Was part of a package deal. Both fans worked on my chillpad (sry for those who's didnt). The semi-hard case is awesome. Very safe and secure. Zipper is very rugged and interior has lots of pockets and storage. Mouse is plug and play on everything from XP to Vista 64. Chillpad is super quiet and keeps this beast cool. Otherwise the hard drives in this thing make the handrests super hot.
Cons: Cable on chillpad is super long. Not really necessary but I guess some people might want it that way.
Overall Review: Purchased along with a refurbbed laptop. Gave the case to my daughter but I kept the mouse and chillpad which I'm using at the moment.
DOA and RMA = W.T.F?
Pros: TV looks cool when hanging on the wall.
Cons: Dead out of the box. About a 6" white stripe down the screen. Unviewable. Contacted New Egg and they basically told me they cant do ANYTHING and that I should RMA it to the nearest facility that can either repair or replace it. This was on 9/15/2008. Time of this writing is 10/25/2008. So it's been nearly a month and a half with no TV. The place I sent it to has NOT emailed or called with regards to the RMA status. For the last month I keep thinking I'll get home from work and have a box waiting for me. Hope I didnt drop 400 bones on an LCD that I'll never see again.
Overall Review: I dont know if AOC is a trash name brand or not. I read a few reviews and ppl seemed to like the name, aside from the low quality audio output. Otherwise, no real complaints. I dont know if I'm suffering from an isolated incident, ie. FedEx killed my TV, or what. Doesnt matter...the issue is that if you have to RMA something like this from NewEgg somewhere, dont expect it back for months!!
Pros: Reliable. Uses very little voltage so it's powered by a standard USB port. Has never failed during reads or writes. I purchased 3 or 4 of these and they're all functioning to this day. It's been over 3 years now!!! I use one of these units as a NAS drive attached to my Asus router. There's roughly 200 gigs of movies and they stream flawlessly to other wired devices.
Cons: They're no longer offered. :( It would be nice if they were actually SSDs and had faster read/write times.....but the shear reliability cancels out having to wait 4 seconds longer.
Overall Review: I'm sold on Seagate. Perhaps their quality assurance department is strict.
Pros: Easy to set up. Cameras are very low profile and almost not detectable when mounted under eaves. DVR seems like a quality built product (China, of course, but still not too shabby). Plenty of hard drive space. Includes a USB mouse which helps while setting up.
Cons: Only thing that I wish was a little better is the camera quality. On bright sunny days everything's a bit washed out and overly white. I got exactly what I expected though. Decent quality and at a low price. Could have bought 8 higher res cameras but it would have been twice as much as this whole package here. Most of the included cabling is long enough but for a couple of long runs you'll have to buy more.
Overall Review: I purchased high quality BNC cables for most of my cameras to make sure it lasts awhile. The included cables are quite cheap and thin. Make sure to use the included version of NetViewer from the CD. I couldnt get others to work. Also, I use IPcam Viewer Pro app on my Android phone. Works flawlessly. Have all the right ports forwarded in your router directly to your DVR, ie. 9000, 80, 18004, and 1024 and everything will work. I love this thing and will be purchasing a PTZ camera soon to add on. I'd highly recommend this to everyone and plan to install one at my Mom's place for security. I should probably give it 5 eggs but decided to drop one since the camera quality isn't as pristine as I kinda wished it would be, even with my aftermarket low-ohm cables.
Pros: - Plenty of ports. - Stands upright. - A/C adapter (low profile I might add) - Lightweight.
Cons: - Worked fine for nearly a year. Slowly but surely everything that was plugged into it was no longer recognized including an external hdd, mx518 mouse, and a few software dongles. - Made in China.
Overall Review: Any USB hub with an optional A/C adapter is a smart purchase. I dont understand how so many manufacturers of USB devices are demanding a max voltage load out of a USB port. You simply cant run USB backlit keyboards, gaming mice, and external hard drives all off of the voltage supplied by a standard mobo...especially from a laptop mobo. Buy this if you need a quick desk solution. Dont expect longevity.
Pros: Huge display. FULL backlit keyboard and number pad on the side. Great sound.
Cons: Touch buttons on the left side are inadvertantly touched while playing games. USB ports are placed in weird locations. Big and heavy...so dont be a crybaby trying to lug this thing through an airport terminal.
Overall Review: I bought a re-certified unit and am completely satisfied. THe only game I play is Battlefield Bad Company 2 which looks amazing. I have a colleague who has the very same unit but had to change the ball-bearing CPU fan after a year.
