Nothing but Headaches
Pros: Nice to have the Gigabyte capability
Cons: I have had no luck getting a good connection when paired with the Linksys WMP600N PCI network card even though the computer is only 20 feet from the router. If I can get a connection at all, it is at a slower speed, and I get a stronger signal from my old Dlink G-Band router
Overall Review: I bought this router and network card combo to avoid running wiring with the expectation of getting a usable high speed wireless connection. I consistantly get stronger signal strength and speed on my laptop using a 5 year old Dlink G-band router.
Limited Life Span
Pros: Initially it worked ok Small and unobtrusive
Cons: Worked ok for a year, then started having problems Started having problems at the 1 year mark Stopped working at 16 months as a bridge, which is what I got it for. Won't reset so I can try to reconfigure. So much for my confidence in DLink
You get what you pay for!
Pros: Nice low price, I thought is would be a good base for my HTPC. Compact size, remote control included
Cons: Never really performed up to expectations. My wife needed a new computer for her at home job, so my plans for using this as an HTPC went on hold. Performance was sluggish using Windows XP, 4GB of Corsair RAM, Intel i5-650 processor. The fan was noisy and finally died after a month of use. After sitting around for a few months waiting for me to put it to it's original intended use, I decided to load Win7. Now it won't recognize the hard drive. I tried two other hard drives that I knew worked, different cable, used different SATA port and still the same problem. Seems like a controller issue, because it sounds like the read/write arm in the drive is going back and forth.
Overall Review: After months of frustration by my wife using this as a work PC, I broke down and built her a new system, and she is now happy. Going to try to deal with BIOSTAR and see how their customer support is. Will follow up later.
Not Fully Compatible with Win7??
Pros: Price Quick delivery (2 days after I ordered, with standard delivery)..Thanks Newegg!
Cons: Drivers/Software aren't (fully) compatible with Win7RC. Actual transfer speeds are slower then the built in wireless 'G' feature of my laptop, and every couple hours I have to eject the card, and reconnect, and my laptop is only 10 feet from my 'N' router.
Overall Review: My laptop is set up for dual boot (WinXP and Win7RC), so I'll have to give it a try on WinXP to see if it works any better there. Win7 is due to be released in just over 3 weeks, you would think Belkin would at least have some beta drivers available by now.
