HIS Radeon HD 6750 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity H675F1GD
HIS Radeon HD 6750 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity H675F1GD

Pros: This card is beastly. Bought as a replacement for a 6 year old card, and compared to it, my eyes bleed from pure delight. Windows performance jumped from 5.3 to 7.1, and overclocking it through software maxed it at 7.3.

Cons: Shoulda bought the one with the extra DVI port. My TV doesn't play too nice with the HDMI port, and when I finally got it working, the other monitor, connected via DVI, started glitching a lot, such as when I would scroll. Never through video playback for some reason.

Overall Review: Compared to my 6 year old geforce, my mind is blown. I am absolutely in love with this card, and given the chance and more money, I'd probably purchase from HIS again. Also, the DIRT 3 promo may require you send a picture to AMD to confirm it's legit or something... I had to, and they sent me the Steam activation code about a week later. But you're buying the video card for video carding, not for Dirt 3.

best laptop i've owned

Acer Laptop Aspire V3-771G-9697 Intel Core i7 2nd Gen 2670QM (2.20GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 17.3" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
Acer Laptop Aspire V3-771G-9697 Intel Core i7 2nd Gen 2670QM (2.20GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 17.3" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Pros: The keys feel just right and are evenly spaced enough to allow for typing. The trackpad is nice and big, and some of the gestures are useful. The audio output from the speakers is decent. Plenty of usb ports for pretty much anything you'd need. Battery life is also decent on power saver mode, usually allowing enough time to watch a movie. The processor is powerful, and the graphics processor isn't to shabby itself. If you're looking for a decently priced laptop to play some newer games, this is definitely worth a look. The terabyte of space means you'll have more than enough than you'll ever need on the go, and the 8GB ram plus the processor mean you'll be able to easily and quickly do whatever you need. In power saver, you won't even notice the slowdown. All in all this is the best laptop I've ever owned. It's leagues better than my friend's older XPS and a contender with laptops with way higher prices and similar specs.

Cons: Previously mentioned trackpad gestures are convenient... when you can get them to work. You'll mostly find yourself using the scroll gestures, and sometimes other gestures may get in your way. Also, due to the size and position of the trackpad, if you don't typed with your wrists raised, you'll find yourself moving the mouse a bit; they did account for this in the driver options, and you can set a delay between the last keystroke and the time you can move your cursor again. This thing is also rather heavy, but since it isn't awkwardly shaped, it'll fit into a backpack so that's not too much of a problem. Lots of bloatware comes with it, but it isn't too hard to remove and doesn't really mess with anything. It's also a massive fingerprint magnet, if that kind of thing bothers you. It'll also get quite hot while using a lot of graphic-intensive programs, so make sure to keep it a little elevated and off of your lap if it bothers you.

Overall Review: Honestly, this laptop exceeds everything I could have anticipated when I placed the order. I was kind of weary when I first looked at this laptop, mostly because a lot of people think of acer as a Walmart brand, but just for the month or so I've owned this thing, all those fears are gone. All the extra features are kind of typical of laptops (ie webcam, trackpad, speakers, mic, etc.) The main point of this laptop is performance, and for the price, for me, it delivers.

Thermal Paste

Arctic Silver Arctic Alumina 1.75g Premium Ceramic, Polysynthetic thermal compound AA-1.75G
Arctic Silver Arctic Alumina 1.75g Premium Ceramic, Polysynthetic thermal compound AA-1.75G

Pros: It's thermal paste. It does what it does.

Cons: It's thermal paste. Stuff is messy as heck if you're not careful.

Overall Review: This is some nice thermal paste if you don't feel like dishing out the extra money for Silver 5. Or if you're poor and on an extremely tight budget, like me.

YEEESSS

Logitech Z313 25 W 2.1 Speaker System
Logitech Z313 25 W 2.1 Speaker System

Pros: This is the highlight of my recent purchases. These speakers are the best things ever.

Cons: Just a little bass...

Overall Review: Bass could stand to be a tiny bit deeper, but I don't care. These sound great.

Great!

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

Pros: Love it, it does exactly what I wanted it to do!

Cons: Just hate that some of the software is only available for Vista or 7.

Overall Review: I guess it's time to upgrade OS's for me, because less and less software is being made available for XP

Great!

CORSAIR 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model VS2GBKIT533D2

Pros: Installed, all 2 gigs recognized! Ran Memtest, no errors.

Cons: Came in plastic container

Overall Review: The Eggsaver shipping was slower than the usual on Newegg, but everything arrived safe and sound. I wasn't in too much of a rush anyways.
