Pros: Ran at advertised speed for a couple weeks.
Cons: About a month in one stick spitting out thousands of memtest errors. Other stick starting to spit out errors as well causing bluescreens.
Pros: Immense cooling capability. Overall good design. Quiet even at full speed.
Cons: Install took forever. I thought I was going to destroy my cpu. This thing is not easy to install. It's a super tight fit. I'm considering modifying it a bit with some screws or bolts from the hardware store that are about 5mm's longer. This thing has serious hold down pressure. If you're going to install this, be warned it is not fun. I'm using an lga 1151 socket on a Z370 board with an 8086k. I'm not sure about other sockets but lga 1151 install is scary.
Overall Review: I would recommend this cooler if you're looking for top notch air cooling because this is it. I however would not recommend this for anyone that is not confident building a pc. I've got years of experience and over 100 builds and rebuilds under my belt. So I'm pretty used to things not going smoothly sometimes. But this was by far the hardest cooler install I've ever done.
Pros: Runs cools. Has great acoustics if you're worried about silence, I however am not. The precision XOC utility that EVGA has out is A+ when it comes to overclocking. Custom fan curves, Voltage bumps per clock, Has a master/slave switch which swaps between bioses and the one has 120% power ability. I keep it at 120% 100% of the time. It clocks on it's own over 2000mhz. I didn't even have to flash a modded bios on this one to really push it. The stepping on these cards is great. It allows for cooler running card when not under heavy use and it stays cool even under 100+% power. I've had this card quite a while. I have had no issues what so ever. Would recommend this to anyone.
Pros: Very fast card. I was having throttling issues about 2 weeks after I got the card but fixed that by bios mod. I have absolutely no coil whine even under full load. I don't even get coil whine at 500 fps on older games. Currently running 1607mhz boost clock and 1480 nominal.
Cons: Throttling issues when I first got the card.
Overall Review: Could have used a back plate but It was only 20 bucks so I picked one up from evga.
Pros: Runs at advertised speed of 1866mhz no problem. Fast memory and good price.
Overall Review: I refuse to use XMP. But I got it running at 1866 just like it's rated without it so I don't really care. But This brings about something. Why do people use XMP when all you have to do is tell the bios to run ram at x multiplier and manually adjust timings? That's what I did and have been doing for years with 0 issues.
Pros: Hit 4.5ghz almost out of the box. Cranked it up to 4.7ghz and been running it that way for a couple weeks or so. I don't know if it's just me or if it's the chip but this thing seems to overclock like crazy. I've had it all the way up to 4.9ghz but the temps were a little worry some because I am still aircooling.
Overall Review: Delid delid delid. If you're going to overclock this chip at all I don't care if it's with water cooling or whatever. Delid and get some proper thermal compound on it. at stock speeds it was getting hotter than I was comfortable with even higher than at 4.7ghz which I'm at now. My idle is 42c and my load is just south of 70c. My idle before was 45c and 86c load with out any overclocking.
Pros: Absolutely loving this board. Runs screaming fast. Runs really cool. Overclocks like mad. It's ice white!
Cons: UEFI bios leaves a lot to be desired. To fancy for me. But this is only my second uefi bios and the first one I only used for a few hours. I'm oldschool so it's mostly a me thing not the board.
Overall Review: Specs:
Pros: Cheap, Snappy performance. Bang for the buck is definitely a big pro for this cpu.
Cons: I only got to use this cpu for about a week due to multiple board failures. Runs hotter than I would have liked to see from a 32nm cpu. Definitely needs aftermarket cooling solution.
Pros: Solid cooler. Good temps.
Cons: Fan failed after 4 months. It was working good for a good while. But it started making noises about 3 1/2 months in. The fan eventually died. I'm guessing bearing failure. I threw another 120mm fan on it. 3000 rpm fans are loud but I don't care about noise. My case sounds like a jet engine anyway.
Overall Review: This is an update from my initial review.
Temps have stayed pretty consistent save for burning up thermal paste due to to high of an over clock generating way to high of temps. Usually with ambient temps around 75 it idles at 85-90 usually. Cool&quiet disabled btw. Running an AMD 3850x4 apu@ 3.6ghz. At load it will sometimes peak@145-150 degress. fahrenheit fyi. But that's running prime 95 at full load for several hours.
Pros: Adjustable DPI on the fly. Changeable response rate. can macro buttons and setup game specific profiles. I've been using this mouse for well over a year and no problems at all.
Overall Review: I picked this mouse up after using a logitech LX3 I bought like 8 years ago that finally gave up the ghost and then came back to life. But I'm a logitech fan for life on peripherals.
Pros: Great airflow and construction. Lots of ability to expand. Pre setup for water cooling if you so choose.
Cons: I have an older version of this Case without USB3.0.
Overall Review: Could use more than 2 hdd sliders.
Pros: When it worked for the first week it was a good board. Ran stable and had no problems. Lots of room for expansion and a nicely setup bios. Really a lot of monitoring capability with the included software for overclocking and hardware settings on the fly.
Cons: After about a week of normal use and mild gaming. The SATA controller started going south. Not the first one of these boards I've had this happen on. The other board granted was open box so I just let it go and bought a brand new one not open box. After a week of random read errors the sata controller finally wouldn't even recognize anything except on the secondary headers.
Overall Review: I've always bought asus boards for almost every build I've ever done and honestly I can say I am now going to steer clear of Asus. I have never had a single problem with one of their boards period. But this board I've had 2 of and have seen the same problem twice.
Pros: Very stable card. Runs relatively cooler than I'm used to on a gpu only maxing out at around 65C instead of 80+ like most other cards I've used. Runs very cool at idle 34~35C. Overclocks very well past stock overclock settings. Even with a 100mhz over stock it only bumped temps by 1~2c.
Pros: It works stable. Runs cool and no problems with beta bios. Play with bios settings and you will be amazed at what can be accomplished.
I honestly like this board.
Cons: The hybrid crossfire refuses to work with any and all catalyst drivers. I spent 10+ hours screwing with setting's on this board and I got the infamous lockup. But what you do is disable cool and quiet and also the auto clocking through the bios and it won't lockup. The crossfire didn't work for me but that's alright. Tried it with 4 models that are approved with the apu to no avail.
Pros: This card is a beast. I had it for a long time before I passed it on after my new system. It played anything and everything on at least mediums settings at good frame rates. It even played crysis with no problems. I am gonna miss it but it still has a life to live.
Overall Review: Just an absolute wonderful card for aging systems and really does well.
Pros: Great, easy install, Decent specs. Great board for the price.
Cons: Only one fan header
Overall Review: meh needs a few fan headers but ohh well
Pros: well great graphics great gameplay great all around game. many people complain that multiplayer sucks well duhh you bakas its based for single player. runs on mostly high settings on my budget system with an agp 7600gs and people complain it cant run on high settings on a 8800 well you just dont know what the hell your doing im using ancient graphics drivers from like 2005-2006 and it runs just fine.
Overall Review: well all the wah babys need to quit crying about multiplayer this game is not meant for that
Pros: well i got it free for one from a friend but love it very much i have an older version with 2 80mm fan slots on the back not a 120mm. runs on idle about 74-76 f and runs a=on load about 81-89 keeps things cool.
Cons: very flimsy but hey who cares mine has been dropped a few times.
Overall Review: wouldve liked clearside but it was free so i have no gripes.
Pros: well really kicks when comes to sound output. has nice bass if tuned the right way.
Cons: nightmare to get the bass running good because it tends to be very clippy even at low settings unless totally tuned perfectly with some magnets.
Overall Review: they really should have put a digital bass equilizer in this thing so the bass dosnt get so freakin clippy.
Pros: well looks great for a while then your eyes adjust and you see the curve screen behind the flat not to happy with it running at 1024/768
Overall Review: well i use an old digiview and have been for a while i run it at 1024/768 and its not flat so looks good and its at 72hertz the sweet spot for this digiview monitor i mean its old school too manfac date 99-00 somewere in there
Pros: well have been using one stick for 2 years now and one for one year so this is some sweet memory. i run memtest at least once every 6 months on these and no problems so far. these memory sticks are the best buy i have ever made from corsair. i ordered some of their most expensive memory when i first built my system but those were doa so rma and refund then got one of these sweetness!!
Cons: none at all superb mem!!!
Overall Review: look cool with red shapie on em!!
Pros: very good at overclocking. plays crysis with a 7600 gs at high settings.
Cons: none really
Pros: ok very good lows and great highs. bass shakes stuff off my walls like my calender which is wierd. does distort at high volume but all speakers do that are high wattage. i have a set of logitech x-530s and this sounds better than those and the logitech system has dynamic digital eq in the sub itself which decodes the sound and eqs it.
Cons: when i got it it had some cosmetic damage. the air port on the front is to small and doesnt let a lot of air out when needed causing what most people say cliping which isnt i had the same problem with many other speaker sets.
Overall Review: needs better shipping
Pros: wicked fast for xbox mods
Cons: kinda hard to install
Pros: ok heater about it for now
Cons: it really does have 8 cores 7 active spu's and main proccesing core. gpu not to be under estimated although no good games wait 6-12 months then buy it price will be down and better games.
Overall Review: needs liquad cooling for a monster my pc uses liquad cooling and is less than half as powerful and runs 53c idle. if it has all this other stuff why not a beer despenser for lazy people? well over all im waiting another 6 months to get one or longer. my freind had one started playing it 5 mins lat started smoking.
