Really good upgrade

Pros: Runs at advertised speed of 1866mhz no problem. Fast memory and good price.
Cons: none
Overall Review: I refuse to use XMP. But I got it running at 1866 just like it's rated without it so I don't really care. But This brings about something. Why do people use XMP when all you have to do is tell the bios to run ram at x multiplier and manually adjust timings? That's what I did and have been doing for years with 0 issues.
Bad SATA controller. Again!

Pros: When it worked for the first week it was a good board. Ran stable and had no problems. Lots of room for expansion and a nicely setup bios. Really a lot of monitoring capability with the included software for overclocking and hardware settings on the fly.
Cons: After about a week of normal use and mild gaming. The SATA controller started going south. Not the first one of these boards I've had this happen on. The other board granted was open box so I just let it go and bought a brand new one not open box. After a week of random read errors the sata controller finally wouldn't even recognize anything except on the secondary headers.
Overall Review: I've always bought asus boards for almost every build I've ever done and honestly I can say I am now going to steer clear of Asus. I have never had a single problem with one of their boards period. But this board I've had 2 of and have seen the same problem twice.
Big

Overall Review: Big enough to jam 2 420mm rads in. I definitely jammed packed it.
