AMD Athlon XP 2800+ - Athlon XP Barton 2.083 GHz Socket A Processor - AXDL2800DLV4D
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ - Athlon XP Barton 2.083 GHz Socket A Processor - AXDL2800DLV4D

Comments: This processor has proven to be an excellent performer on my Epox 8RDA+PRO board. I chose this processor after noticing it specs at 1.5v, which is lower voltage than the normal 1.65v chip. Lower voltage means that the chip will run cooler as well as giving more headroom for overclocking. I have the chip running at 2.33GHz at 1.60v and the normal core temps stay below 40c, (air cooled). I don't do any gaming, but I'm sure the temps would increase a bit under heavy load. I know I can push this chip to higher MHz, but for now, I have no need for any increase in performance. With this processor's unlocked multiplier, it is capable of some very impressive speeds. As always, Newegg rocks

790XT-G45 DDR ???????

MSI 790XT-G45 AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI 790XT-G45 AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: I haven't purchased this board yet, but I'm very intrigued by it's engineering as well as the options available. In the boards descriptions you can find where it takes only DDR2. In another description it reads, Dominate your applications and games with up to 16GB of DDR3 memory fitting into four 240-pin slots with dual channel support and 2600MHz Hyper Transport technology for increased performance.

Cons: What's the truth?

Foxconn A7GM-S AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Foxconn A7GM-S AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: For a budget board this A7GM-S has impressive performance. Even the utilities allow for a novice to produce quality overclocks. This board may be the best in its class. I would advise a friend to purchase this board.

Cons: IDE cable is too short to use master and slave. connectors. Foxconn web site is not always available.

Overall Review: My ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm heatsink is large, but it fits on the board easily. I have a large Antec case, which I'm sure makes things easier. CPU core temps, 26C-29C, these temps make the Zalman worth a thought.

Comments: This is my first Epox board, but it won't be my last. In the past I have built systems mostly on MSI and Asus boards. I feel as far as stable overclocking abilities go, this Epox board has no rival on the NF2 platform. I would buy this board again and would recommend this board to anyone who is looking to get the most performance possible out of their system. You can't get more bang for your buck. As always, Newegg rocks!

Runs in duel channel

KINGMAX SuperRAM 256MB DDR 433 (PC 3500) System Memory Model MPWB62D-38
KINGMAX SuperRAM 256MB DDR 433 (PC 3500) System Memory Model MPWB62D-38

Comments: I'm happy with the quality for the price. 2x256 runs perfect at 400FSB in duel channel. The timings are a bit lax 2.5 336, but very stable. Only one issue is that on boot, when my post screen displays, it hangs for about two minutes waiting for the ram to test and initialize. But once booted, my MSI K7N2 Delta sure does run stable and fast.
