Not Bad, but Not Great
Pros: Inexpensive and light-weight, with the low-profile keys of a laptop. Despite this, the keys have a good action to them. Looks nice, despite the low price.
Cons: A "play" key (not a button) and volume controls do not make a multimedia keyboard. Luckily WinAmp has Global Hotkeys, but if you use Windows Media Player or the like then you're going to be disappointed.
Overall Review: The layout is a bit weird, but not hard to get used to.
Bad experiences
Pros: I've ordered three of these. The first is running great after nearly six months.
Cons: The last two, ordered in the past two weeks - one as an RMA replacement for the other - were DOA out of the box. No POST, nothing. Every other component of the system, from the PSU to the CPU to the RAM, was checked on the working example from a few months back. All worked. Process of elimination: bad board. TWICE.
Overall Review: Newegg is great. They're not only taking the bad board back for a refund, they're also eating the shipping costs. PC Chips, on the other hand, is a typical no-name company. Their website was thoroughly unhelpful. I'm going to move up from them...to Foxconn. Yes, that bad.
Thankfully, It Was Free
Pros: Looks good, mostly. I didn't have to pay for it.
Cons: Boring and linear. As games get more and more open (Crysis, GTA, Mercenaries 2, Far Cry 2, etc.) this feels like a huge step back. And really, yet another WWII FPS?
Overall Review: If you've never played a WWII shooter before, you might enjoy this a bit. If you've played any first-person shooters in the past five years, you'll likely be disappointed.
Dead After 11 Months
Pros: Worked fine for 11 months, and then...
Cons: Now it's dead. I can read data CDs and DVDs, but can't run program discs. A bit of a problem, as I was trying to install a new OS.
Overall Review: Not worth the few dollars you save over other brands.
Great Keyboard - buying my second right now!
Pros: It's absolutely the best keyboard I've ever used. Looks great, works great, VERY easy on the hands and wrists. The "lock" indicators are gorgeous.
Cons: A few extra buttons would be nice, but for the price you get plenty.
Overall Review: To the reviewer who mentioned that more media controls would be nice: I agree, but if you download the keyboard's specific software from Microsoft you can re-map each of the extra keys. My last one - which I broke earlier today, leading to me using a horrible Labtec wireless as I order a new one - had the browser forward/back buttons remapped to be previous/next track, and it worked great with Windows Media Player.
