MSI Trinergy Bangs ASUS

MSI Big Bang Trinergy LGA 1156 Intel P55 / NVIDIA NF200 ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI Big Bang Trinergy LGA 1156 Intel P55 / NVIDIA NF200 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Well to start I was completely impressed when I say how "Big" just the box was. All cables needed to run in just about any configuration is included. The MSI worked straight out of the box and It has been kicking #^%$ ever since. I purchased this board to replace 2 defective ASUS P7P55D Deluxe MB's I received back to back. ASUS claimed they could not help with shipping expenses I incurred sending their defects back. Sorry ASUS, I would rather spend the extra $ on a board that works than spend the same amount on the board and return shipping until I actually got one that worked.

Cons: This board is "pricey". In my opinion worth every penny. Almost every review or search I looked at when researching what to buy when building your own system. Spend as much as you can on the processor and the mother board. I am a 100% firm believer now.

Overall Review: My Build: i7-870 CPU, Hyper 212Plus CPU Cooler, MSI Big Bang Trinergy MB, G.Skill 4Gb DDR3 RAM, (2) EVGA 9800 GTX VGA's, 60Gb SSD, 1Tb HDD, Corsair TX950W PSU, CM Storm Scout Case, Scythe Fan Controller, Sony Light Scribe CD/DVD, Samsung LCD, Logitech Wave Keyboard and 518X Gaming Mouse. I spent about 1/3 of what I would have spent had I went to a retailer and purchased a prepackaged system. It really pays to do your research.

ASUS Quality has taken a turn for the worst

ASUS P7P55D Deluxe LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P7P55D Deluxe LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: I really liked the features this board offered. Just wish I could of used them>

Cons: I am going to write only one review to cover my issues. Apparently ASUS is have trouble with there quality regarding the P7P55D Deluxe. I received my first board 2weeks ago, and unfortunately it was determined that the board was defective. Not really a big deal it happens sometimes. I spent the $12 in shipping to send it back for a replacement. I received the replacement last Wednesday and had the exact same problem as the first and this shipment was missing the CD. I notified Newegg about the CD and they were working on getting me one. I spent a good part of a day this weekend online with an ASUS Tech only to end the conversation with him telling me to return the board (another $12). I did ask him if ASUS could help with the shipping and his response was "there's not much I can do with that". After thinking about it a bit I purchased a different board (MSI) and requested a refund instead of replacement which Newegg was happy to do. I would NOT purchase this board.

Overall Review: ASUS seriously needs to take a closer look at production to figure out what is wrong with this board. Also if a customer is willing to stay with this board ASUS should be more than happy to take care of any shipping expense above the first return.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Wow. This Heatpipe is really nice. I installed a second fan on this and currently my CPU temp does not get above 29c. I have not done any overclocking yet but will be in the next couple of weeks. My system has only been up and running for about 1 1/2 weeks and wanted to make sure I was going to have any other issues. With 1 fan running (controlled by the MB) temps are 29c and with both running (2nd controlled by a seperate fan controller) temps reange between 23c and 24c

Cons: This unit is BIG. I had to remove an extra fan that mounts on the side of the case in order for the side to be mounted properly.

Logitech MX 518 8 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 1800 dpi Gaming Mouse
Logitech MX 518 8 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 1800 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: This mouse is extremely comfortable in the hand. Buttons are easy to work. I have not used this for games yet due to issues I was having with my motherboard. I am expecting that it will work great when I do use it for gaming. Price at Newegg was cheaper than other competitors.

Cons: None at this time.
