Exactly what I expected
Pros: Very bright; perfect for garage. Fast shipping. Fair price. Very easy to re-wire (maybe I was lucky!)
Cons: Very brief delay in coming on, but faster than the other fluorescent fixture in the garage.
Overall Review: Very bright white light; probably not what you'd want for the kitchen or bath. Hardest part of re-wiring was having to clean a fixture that had been hanging untouched (except for bulb replacement) for about 30 years.
Be VERY Careful here!
Pros: A compact waterproof camera that provides a great picture and lots of versatility. The IR works well for night pictures, and the motion detection is very good.
Cons: This camera is built for the Chinese market. If you update the firmware from the American Hikvision website, the unit will be "bricked". Hikvision told me "Too bad for you - NewEgg is an unauthorized retailer and we offer NO support". KVision Security simply ignored my e- mails. If you want this camera, pay a little more and buy from an authorized dealer.
Overall Review: Thanks to help of some very clever people on the Internet and a lot of time, I was able to get my camera working again (on an older firmware version). I think Hikvision's expectation that the customer should police their distribution channels is unreasonable, to say the least.
Very nice counter appliance.
Pros: Appears to be well made. Looks good; stainless steel, glass and blue lighting. Works well. Turns itself off.
Cons: Instruction book could use some translation. Control options are a bit confusing until you get the hang of it.
Overall Review: I took the tea strainer out, as I use it for making coffee with a press. It heats quickly and the temperature settings appear to be pretty accurate. I haven't seen any cracking on the little display window another reviewer mentioned. I wasn't really sure I needed it, but now I'm very glad to have it.
Very Versatile Inexpensive Router
Pros: Lots of operational modes. Dual band. Very easy to configure. Stable so far. Seems to have good range. Good documentation.
Cons: LED labels are on the bottom, but there's only 4, so you can memorize them! Ethernet ports are 10/100, but after all, it's a $33 router.
Overall Review: Bought this for the WISP mode, as we needed to create a secure internal network that's connected to a public wireless network. Took about 5 minutes to get it up and configured. CD and Ethernet cable are provided, but neither was required. Just plug it in and make a wireless connection with your browser. Has all the features we needed; security, SSID without broadcasting, ability to use a specific sub-net range, dedicated DHCP addresses, etc. You can download the owner's manual from their web-site so you'll know what you're getting.
Avoid for wireless use
Pros: A nice compact package for personal or light duty office use.
Cons: The setup is clumsy. (Does everybody really want the "Shop at HP" program on their desktop?). The wireless connection is unreliable (see below).
Overall Review: I have deployed three of these in small office environments. One works perfectly, but the other two loose connection to the wireless network after printing (not every time), and have to be powered down and back up numerous times each day. I've tested them on several different networks which are stable for all other devices but loose contact with this printer. Seems to be a fairly common problem. HP is of no help at all, preferring to blame the network. I'll continue to use them with the USB interface and hope HP provides a firmware update that solves the problem.
Excellent Inexpensive Router
Pros: Current shipping hardware version is 9.1. This is supported by DD-WRT build 25203 which is very easy to flash and seems to work well. I have a number of these routers in various configurations, but none are running on the original TP-Link firmware.
Cons: This is the version with the fixed antennas, so if you break one, you're pretty much out of luck. For a few bucks more, you can get the WR841ND which has the standard detachable antennas.
Overall Review: For the price, I think it's pretty hard to beat. I haven't had any issues with signal strength or random disconnects, and have used these in a number of different environments.
Be Very Careful
The Hikvision camera sent to me was a "Chinese Only" version, so when I updated the firmware using the American website the unit was "bricked". Hikvision said; "Too bad for you - this is an unauthorized seller and we offer NO support." KVision Security simply ignored my e-mail. If you really want a Hikvision product, go to their website and find an authorized dealer. Otherwise, you're really on your own. Lots of time and some help from very clever people on the Internet got my camera down-graded to earlier firmware, so now it's working again. I've learned my lesson!
Excellent Customer Service
I ordered a wine cooler, received a dishwasher the next day. OK, anybody can make a mistake. They got right back to me by phone, e-mailed a FedEx label on Monday. FedEx picked up the box on Tuesday and I had the replacement by noon on Thursday. I'd be happy to deal with them again.
No Problems
Order was acknowledged; shipped promptly and received as expected. A good experience.
