Pros: easy board for a first-timer. all the required I/O and expandability for a DAW builder.
Cons: none that i can think of.
Overall Review: This was my first effort at a home build. I use this as a DAW workstation. It has two PCIe 1x slots for multiple UAD cards.
ASRock 970 EXTREME3
AMD FX-8320 Vishera 3.5GHz
CORSAIR Builder Series CX600
Noctua NH-D14 Cooler
G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB
Sony Optiarc 24X DVD Burner
ASUS EN210 Video Card
Antec 300 Illusion
Pros: It works well. is colder than nobody's business. No LEDs. fit in my Antec 900 case
Cons: hard to install the cables into MoBo and MoBo into case once this thing is on it.
beige is beige. at least make it black.
Overall Review: used in my first build with a AMD FX-8320 Vishera 3.5GHz and ASRock 970 EXTREME3. i turned the speed down to 5 in the bios since i chose this for a DAW. i preferred an "overkill" strategy and went with what was considered a quiet and effective cooler. and it appears to fit the bill nicely. is it silent? no, but it's quieter than the case fans. i havent really put the chip under load just with audio so for now, everybody is being like Fonzy. and Fonzy is cool.
Pros: used in my first-time build.
Cons: it's loud. but they're all loud, so it's par for the course.
Pros: this is my first build and it went OK. this will hold a Noctua NH-D14 with a tiny bit of space left over.
Cons: not a big fan of LEDs in the fans. it's a computer, not a pachinko machine.
Pros: installed fine. make a funny fan noise the first time i started it, but it went away. using it for my ASRock 970 EXTREME3 with AMD FX-8320 Vishera 3.5GHz. I went with this PSU because it was used with the same chip family for Tom's System Builder Marathon.
Cons: shoulda bought modular. cables are stiff as hell.
Pros: perfect for my home-build DAW workstation. selected these because they fit under the Noctua NH-D14. scores a 7.6 on windows experience for what it's worth.
Pros: easy to install for my home-build DAW machine. scores a 4.5 on windows experience index, but it's SILENT, and that is what i want in a video card for DAW workstation.
Cons: none, for the price.
Pros: Same size as iphone 4, excellent build quality, reasonable screen. Fast under Gingerbread. Great design. Sony Live Ware works well.
Cons: ICS slows the phone down a little when you fully integrate google account/chrome profile. No NFC (like the Sola).
Overall Review: i bought this to try android after my Samsung Focus screen died with over a year left in my contract. I'm still not sold on android, but the hardware is really nice. The hardware looks and feels good and some of Sony's tweaks work really well. I'm glad to get back to a small cell now that i have a tablet for email and browsing.
Pros: instructional sheet worked well.
Cons: doesn't come with holster for walking around warehouse.
Overall Review: i bought 4. three for my company for inventory and material receipt; they all work great with our MRP software.
i also have one for my house; i use it to tag my BDSM meat puppets to make sure none have escaped. Before i had to use a paper and pencil and the lube was always staining the paper. lots of time lost to paperwork. with this scanner, i can rededicate my energies to developing the perfect frequency of my Bummers Ring.
Overall Review: *perfect for use as a backup drive due to quiet and unobtrusive nature. i use two in a Sans Digital enclosure and two in a western digital enclosure.
Pros: *dropped it in the slot...rebooted...installed...presto. no headaches on 4 year old Dell server running MS Small Biz Server 2003
Overall Review: *perfect for upgrading older systems
*i have nearly no tech ability, but i was able to have the thing installed in 5 minutes.
Pros: *easy set-up
*much smaller size than pictures convey
*can be set up/formatted completely from LCD interface...no need to install extraneous monitoring software.
Cons: *buttons on the front are kind of chintzy...lack satisfying "click"
Overall Review: bought for raid backups of MS Small Business Server 2003. it was very easy to setup. i'm being generous in saying i have "average understanding," but i think this was an incredibly easy purchase for me.
Will probably purchase another unit to expand storage of our 4-year old server.
