Cube of Awesome
Pros: - So much room for activities - Fits GPUs that stretch past a standard motherboard's width - Tons of options for air cooling or watercooling - Front fan filter works well and covers the entire space - Completely tool-less after everything is installed. - Fantastic fit and finish. Plastic feels sturdy and everything fits well with no gaps. - Came w/ motherboard standoffs pre-installed plus extra hardware so I was ready to go when it arrived. - Lots of space on PSU side for cable management. - Two hot-swap HDD bays on bottom interior are a nice touch. - I'm running an Antec Kuhler on my i5-2500K and with a room temp of 22*C I'm idling at 16*C. The Mobo a balmy 33*C even with dual 6950s inside. More effective then my previous NZXT 410 Elite.
Cons: - No USB 2.0 headers on front panel. For those wanting to use the USB 3.0 on the front panel be sure your motherboard has a USB 3.0 header. My Asus P8P67 WS Revolution was lacking as they're on the I/O panel but it was an easy fix with a 3.0 to 2.0 adapter so at least they're functional. - Top panel fan cover must be removed to remove front panel to access front fan filter. I clean mine often so I wish it might have a one step process to reach. - If you have more than TWO 3.5" HDDs then you'll have to get creative with installation as the only spots for those drives are on the bottom of the Mobo side. The rear compartment has space for a plethora of 2.5" drives, though. - To install more 3.5" HDDs simply place vertically along back mesh opening and run screws between mesh and HDD. You can fit ~4 3.5" HDDs this way. A secure and simple solution. - I'm not concerned with size but some may not appreciate the footprint of the 540. It's just short of two mid-towers wide. A daunting case, indeed.
Overall Review: Bottom line - if you want more space, better cooling or need room for lots of long radiators don't hesitate to pick up an Air 540.
Excellent Performance at a Great Price
Pros: - Easy installation - Cools my i5 to 16-19*C at idle - Very quite operation - Nothing to mess with or worry about
Cons: - Needs two fans for optimal operation (use Aerocool Sharks!)
Overall Review: Probably the best bang for your buck all-in-one water cooling solution.
Low in price, High in features!
Pros: - Nice black finish - Quality materials and feel - Lots of fan locations (6 total 120mm spots) Comes with 3 120mm fans! - Quick-release front fans are amazing! - Large interior for big video cards (plenty of space for both my 6950s but would fit the larger 6990 with correct HDD placement) - Easy, behind-motherboard cable routing with lots of room for extras and smart hole locations for component wiring. My PSU wasn't modular but I was still able to store all the cables behind the board) - Thumbscrews everywhere and easy-removal access panels - Tool-less drive bays (8 HDD and 3 5.25") - Good instructions and lots of hardware for different motherboards and drives. - Heat sink back-plate hole provides ample clearance to install after motherboard installation. - Microswitch On/Reset switches are a nice touch. - Keeps my components cool (idling at 39*C and CPU at 16-19*C) - Awesome NZXT customer service!
Cons: - Cable routing hole grommets don't like to stay in during wiring. I suggest glue or removal. Holes are rounded smooth anyway. - Need to include more zip-ties - Top "Junk Drawer" not really necessary - Needs a couple more fan filters but they are in place where it counts most (front two and PSU) - Drives mount Front-to-Back through quick-release forward fan bays.
Overall Review: - If you want to use the front panel USB 3.0 port make sure you get a motherboard that has a USB 3.0 port on-board. Simple, I know, but it needs to be noted. - Plan your cable routing before you install graphics cards. Can get tight after that. And as a testament to NZXT's customer service here's my story: My previous case was an NZXT Alpha. I'd purchased it as a pre-built system from iBuyPower.com and when it arrived it had no extra HDD rails or hardware. By accident I emailed NZXT directly instead of iBuyPower.com and asked about replacements. The NZXT rep, instead of directing me back to where I purchased the case, told me he'd already shipped a full set of hardware for the case and all the rails I'd need. I was floored. I was, at that moment, made a customer for life. And what's great is that I've heard this same type of story all over the internet. NZXT stands by their product and loves their customers. THANKS NZXT!
Outstanding Monitor After Calibration
Pros: - Gloss black frame - Excellent color reproduction - Massive display - Very inexpensive for what you get I absolutely loved this monitor after I calibrated it. It is worth every penny to buy a standalone monitor calibrator. I used the Spyder2Express and it works every time and makes this monitor everything it can be. The colors become accurate, vivid and more true to life than I thought possible in such a cheap monitor. I recommend calibrating this monitor before you pass judgment. It is a night and day difference in color quality.
Cons: - Those friggin' controls! Why are they where I can't see them?? - Default settings are extremely unpleasant. My eyes were strained after only a couple of hours - Stand doesn't tilt down enough for low-seated viewing - Kind of "pops" between resolution changes during gaming and full screen apps - No VGA but not really necessary on today's video cards - It has built-in speakers? Who uses these anymore? Sound terrible and seem more like a "notch in the belt" than an actual feature When I first purchased this monitor and got it fired up I was very displeased with the colors and brightness. Everything was washed out, lacked crispness and was straining my eyes. I adjusted it with the horribly located and lacking built-in controls but couldn't find a setting that worked. Once again I can't say enough about getting this thing calibrated on initial installation.
Overall Review: You won't regret purchasing this :D
Pros: - Easy to setup - Fits both 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives - No software to install - Solid design - Easy external storage solution
Cons: - no active cooling (not really a big deal)
Overall Review: This dock is fantastic. It was as easy as plugging it into the computer, plugging in the power, putting a drive in and turning it on. I quickly formatted some old drives and had loads of external storage ready to swap out like 8-track tapes. I'd definitely like another one.
