Great Monitor

SAMSUNG 19" a-si TFT-LCD SXGA LCD Monitor 8 ms 1280 x 1024 D-Sub, DVI-D 940b-BK
SAMSUNG 19" a-si TFT-LCD SXGA LCD Monitor 8 ms 1280 x 1024 D-Sub, DVI-D 940b-BK

Pros: I spent about 6 months searching for the right 19' LCD at the right price point and chose this one; very satisfied. I've had the monitor for a month now and have been using DVI since Day 1 (had my own cable). No dead pixels at all. Beautiful picture. No ghosting in Half Life 2, Counter Strike: Source, Far Cry, Doom 3, or Morrowind. DVD's look great. A big step up from my old 15' LCD. Love the blue LED (which BTW blinks slowly on/off if in standby mode - could by annoying to some); overall very clean look.

Cons: I couldn't get software that came with monitor to install correctly (probably user error), but I haven't needed it yet. Minor bleeding at the top.

Overall Review: When I get my Xbox 360, I will be able to use the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV cable to run the 360 on my monitor at the native resolution (1280 x 1024), which is very close to the 1080p HD resolution.

Excellent card

PNY VCG88512GXPB GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Pros: I've had this card for almost a month now, not one hiccup. I have it overclocked to 700mhz core, 1750mhz shader, and 2000mhz memory. In a micro-ATX case, the card idles at 57C and full load at 92C. The default fan speed is only 29%, so be sure to increase this if you plan to overclock. When you initially turn the computer on, the gpu fan sounds like a jet engine for a few seconds, but even with the fan at 100% it will never sound that loud under normal operation. The single slot cooling solution is ideal for my micro-ATX case, as I cannot afford to have any of my other slots blocked. I am running Crysis @ 1280x1024 with all High settings and 2x AA, and I am averaging 30fps using fraps. The box states you need a minimum 400W PSU with 26A on the 12V rail, so make sure your's can handle it.

Cons: This card runs HOT. Before overclocking, it would idle at 50C, and load at 84C. The single slot cooling dumps the hot air into your case, so make sure you have plenty of fans to remove the hot air.
