Revise "so so" Review

ARRIS SBG6580 SURFboard Wireless Cable Modem Gateway
ARRIS SBG6580 SURFboard Wireless Cable Modem Gateway

Pros: Just left review with 3 egg rating. After leaving the review I started to read other reviews and saw this GLORIOUS gem of information "To those of you with the wireless dropouts, log in to the modem settings page and go to the Firewall tab. UNCHECK "IP Flood Detection" and reboot modem AND your system." I followed this advice and instantly my packet loss went from about 58% to 0%. You can physically feel the difference while surfing online, and can really feel it on my xbox playing via xbox Live. No more frustrating Lag. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Unkown reviewer!

Cons: *Still have occasional Wifi issues, but simple powercycle fixes the issue and only happens about once a week for me.

Overall Review: Been depressed about this Modem for a year only to find out a simple checkbox in the firewall settings has been the cause of my woe's! I am exhilirated by the change in quality i have experienced.

MSI 870A-G46 AM3 AMD 870 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI 870A-G46 AM3 AMD 870 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Sata 6.0gbs/USB 3.0 Supports phenom II x6 I like the Bios Layout Good durable build.

Cons: NOT FOR OVERCLOCKING! I was building this for a friend who isn't interested in overclocking, but I wanted to at least enable the OC Genie. If I make ANY changes to the Overclock profile I get a CMOS Bad checksum error. I am using 8gb G.SKILL 1600 DDR3 Ram. Motherboard identifies the 8gb, but at 1333 speed. As soon as I make change in BIOS to 1600 instant errors.

Overall Review: Again if not planning to do ANY adjustment to bios or overclock profile it works fine. I don't normally leave feedback or reviews, but after seeing others reviews and then my own experience, I felt it necessary you know the truth behind this board. If you want the Same features, and chipset as this board go with the ASRock 870 EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX. Same features WAY BETTER BOARD. I've used the ASRock board in 7 builds and have loved it.

Exceptional Value and Speed

Pros: I have loved the Read/Write Speeds on this Drive. Makes a really great Media Backup Drive. I currently run a Plex Media Server off of this drive with all of it's Media and haven't experienced any issues.

Cons: Read/Writes are Noisy compared to other HDD. Runs about 7-8 degree's hotter than my other HDD.

New Mobo is Great

GIGABYTE GA-A75-UD4H FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-A75-UD4H FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: My first one of these boards was DOA. However this one is flawless. I feel the USB 3.0 controller on this board is much better than the Asrock boards I usually prefer. All extra features working beautifully. Have it running with the A8-3870K, 128gb Crucial M4 SSD, 1.5tb 7200rpm Hatachi, 8gb 1600 G.Skill Ripjaws. Getting the following WEI Score: Processor: 7.3 Memory(RAM): 7.4 Graphics: 6.8 Gaming Graphics: 6.8 Primary hard disk: 7.9 Overall WEI 6.8

Cons: First board was DOA, but that happens eventually to every brand and make of board.

Pros: 1. Both Sticks were good and not DOA :) 2. Standard 1333mhz speed 3. Runs Cool

Cons: No Heatsink, but knew that before I bought it.

Overall Review: Posted on first powerup. No issues, generally use gSkill ram, but this was inexpensive so thought I would try it. Good choice so far.

I'm Impressed
