Does its job
Pros: Looks cool and works, but at lower speed (DDR3 1333).
Cons: As said in the pros section, it only works for me at a lower speed, no matter what I tried. If I enable intel XML the computer wont post, giving me short fast beeps and resetting at default settings. If I try to set the speed myself and increase the voltage it does the same thing. Only time I got a reliable boot was when I kept it at default settings. It could be that I don't know how to exactly set it in bios (I've forgotten by now, I was trying to do this when I first got it a month ago, I'm pretty sure I was doing it right), or I think my motherboard might not be compatible with running it at it's max speed (didn't check compatibility). I gave up after a day meaning to get back to it, but since I don't really mind running it at a lower speed I just left it. Still I took off an egg because it should be as simple as enabling XML, since my motherboard specifications say it can handle DDR3 1600.
Overall Review: I have a Gigabyte GA-P43T-ES3G.
Pros: This card is perfect for the mid-range gamer rig for the people that don't want to spring for the vanilla GTX 460. I OC'ed core clock to 810 MHz and memory clock to 1900 MHz using EVGA precision and it has been working great! I can play every new game on highest or medium high settings: crysis 2 demo on hardcore settings, bad company 2 with everything MAX HBAO on and all, Black ops completely max. Got this card so I could play new games atleast without lag, didn't care about the quality but I have been very surprised. Amazing at how overclockable this card is, but runs fine at stock too! Good cheap card to get onto the DX11 bandwagon with.
Cons: Had a glitch running very high Dragon Age 2 with DX11 at first but Nvidia very promptly released a beta driver that fixed it.
Overall Review: I run it on a Gigabyte GA-P43T-ES3G mobo and intel Q6600 @ 2.8GHz w/ 4gb ripjaws DDR3 ram. PSU is OCZ StealthXStream 500W psu (has 2 6x pin pci-e connectors, this one needs 2, 1 6 pin 1 4 pin i think.)
Pros: Did everything I expected it to, and it came working out of the box. If you don't get a DOA this motherboard is great for people looking for faster memory on an older socket like me! Really great board for the price, really like the option to upgrade memory even further. It also overclocks to a decent degree! Just don't install the stupid programs that come with it because they're kind of stupid and useless (especially the software overclocker). See my rig specs in other thoughts.
Cons: One slot on my SD card reader started refusing to read cards using this mobo but that might just be the card reader getting old, because all the other ones work (and they all use the same usb plug to the motherboard).
