Pros: Backed up over 20 CD's (via EAC) so far. Not a single problem, reads through damaged discs nicely. Very quiet and loads smoothly.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Great drive for ripping CD's. EAC drive offset is +6. Enjoy!

Doesn't work with Win 7 64

AVS Gear USB 3.0 PCI Interface Card 2 ports Model UG-USB720202PCIE
AVS Gear USB 3.0 PCI Interface Card 2 ports Model UG-USB720202PCIE

Pros: Fast WHEN it works.... HDTune registered 125MB read/write on a Seagate FreeAgent 2TB external USB 3.0 drive... until it hits the 8192 kb block size, then read on...

Cons: This card, combined with the above mentioned Seagate FreeAgent 2TB USB 3.0 external, causes the drive to hang more often than not. Hangs at the 8192 kb block size on HDTune Pro. I've turned off USB power controls and suspension in the Power settings, and also tested the drive on a standard USB 2.0 port, and determined that this card is the culprit! I would send it back to Newegg get my money back, but I tossed out the original packaging. Wish I would've read the reviews regarding W7 64 issues prior to purchasing. AVS Gear isn't even a company anymore, and I'm not sure how much help it's current holder would be.

Overall Review: DON'T GET THIS CARD IF YOU ARE USING WINDOWS 7 64 BIT!!!

Great bracket...

Mushkin Enhanced MKNSSDBRKT2535 2.5" to 3.5" drive adapter bracket
Mushkin Enhanced MKNSSDBRKT2535 2.5" to 3.5" drive adapter bracket

Pros: Fit and finish is superb. Comes with quality mounting hardware.

Cons: Not-a-one.

Overall Review: Get a bunch of these and a bunch of SSD's and RAID 0 'em for a blazing fast machine!

Blazing budget RAID 0 array!

Patriot Torqx 2 2.5" 32GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) PT232GS25SSDR
Patriot Torqx 2 2.5" 32GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) PT232GS25SSDR

Pros: I have two of these in a RAID 0 array controlled by the onboard controller on a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P mainboard. Using Windows 7 Ultimate x64, this array earns a 7.5 out of 7.9 on the WEI scale. HDTune Pro File Benchmark on the array is over 425mb/s read, 375mb/s write... not bad at all! No problems at all so far. Instantly recognized by my BIOS and RAID controller, Windows 7 x64 installed without a problem. Opening applications is ridiculously fast!

Cons: Does NOT include a SATA cable, but they're only a few bucks extra.

Overall Review: Considering purchasing two more for an insanely fast system drive!!!

Good board for budget HTPC...

MSI 785GT-E63 AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI 785GT-E63 AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Lots of features, great design, solid state caps, on-board power/reset/clear cmos switches are a nice touch. Running an Athlon II X2 250 Regor with 4gb Patriot DDR2 800 CL5 and using on-board video. Flawless 1080p playback on Win7 x64.

Cons: Has issues when booting with an external HDD attached via USB. Renders device unrecognizable in Win7 x64 until the device is restarted. Wish the fans would turn off when entering sleep mode in Windows 7. The HDMI output is pretty much useless. Using HDMI places a thick black border around the edges of my HDTV, and also makes text extremely blurry. You are MUCH better off using the DVI or VGA, way sharper and eliminates border. Wish it would have come with the optional S/PDIF adapter. The optical is ok, but S/PDIF cables are cheaper and more readily available than optical.

Overall Review: Overall great board, would recommend it despite the cons listed above. oh, and.... baba booey

Great budget upgrade!

Pros: Works great for a budget HTPC. Running with an MSI 785GT-E63, 4gb of Patriot RAM and onboard video. 1080p video is flawless on Win7 x64.

Cons: None
