Pros: lightweight and thin. they get the job done.
Pros: Clean, stylish and saves wear and tear on my USB port
Cons: none. I knew it was a charging only pod when I bought it. Would be nice if they had one that could sync too.
Pros: Huge, roomy case with quiet fans that move enough air to keep my components cool without sounding like a jet engine. REAL tool-less case with metal locking mechanisms, not like the cheap plastic ones on my last case that either broke off or inspired no confidence that they would be enough to keep my cards in place. Cable management is top notch as are the hard drive bays. More than enough room for my Coolermaster V8 cooler.
Cons: The only con I have is that my PSU locking arm arrived broken. I've written to Lancool twice via their website to get a replacement but no one has bothered to respond which is very disappointing. For now the PSU is held in with screws so in that sense it wasn't completely tool-less for me. If your PC sits under a desk, the USB connectors on the top may be useless. They sit too close to the top of an average height desk to fit normal USB plugs in with bending them at the stem. Would have preferred front mounted ones, but honestly, for the price of this incredible case it's more of a nitpick than anything else
Overall Review: Lancool, answer your email and tell me how to replace the PSU locking arm!
This was purchased as a gift for me from newegg.
Pros: It's quiet and keeps my quad core much cooler than the stock HSF. Looks stylish but I have a solid door. Not overly tacky with bright lights.
I love how quiet this is compared to my stock fan.
Cons: Not a real con, but it's the first HSF that I had to remove my board from the case to install. Definitely a tight fit. If I hadn't removed my vent inside of my case door it definitely wouldn't have fit. It's a few mm from the door.
Overall Review: I wanted this cooler for a while and when the sale hit, i just couldn't say no. I really should have purchased it sooner. It lived up to my expectations.
Pros: Cost was just right and I'm happy with the performance boost it gave me compared to my X2 6000+ (125w). Runs a LOT cooler than my other CPU (to be expected) and ran my apps with a lot more zip than they had before
Cons: Not a con as far as the chip goes, but even with the current BIOS, my Gigabyte motherboard did not set the chip up correctly and it took me a minute to figure out why it seemed no faster than the processor it replaced. The board set it up at 4x, not 13x
Pros: Using this an an intake fan in my Coolermaster Centurian 5 case with a custom 5.25 3 bay fan mount, connected using PWM on a GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P.
It's ridiculously silent, even more than my 1000RPM exhaust fan which I thought was really quiet.
Cons: Haven't found any
Pros: They do what they're supposed to.
Cons: none. they do what they're supposed to.
Pros: Insane number of USB connectors, multiple firewire ports (which is great as I'm one of the few people who uses firewire devices these days), heavy, thick motherboard that feels solid and didn't flex at all. This board replaced my buggy, twice RMA'd M2N-SLI Deluxe. It still doesn't work right and has the all too common, press power, fans spin and it cuts off 4 seconds later. I've given up on that company and really needed a solid board that just worked.
This Gigabyte board did just that from the beginning. Zero install problems and it's been working like a charm. The easytune software works well and keeps my box cool while keeping the fans quiet.
Cons: fan header placement makes no sense at all. most people have an exhaust fan in the rear of their case. There are no headers next to it. Every other board I've had in the last 5 years has had one close. This doesn't. I had to buy 3 pin power supply extensions. Not cool.
The board also isn't a full ATX board as others have stated. It's definitely short on the right side. I had enough mounts to keep it firmly installed, but I would recommend installing the CPU and heatsink, memory AND SATA cables because the board doesn't have support on the edge of the right side and the SATA ports are in an odd place and face the front of the case.
I wish there were more fan headers.
Overall Review: Overall I love this board. The quirks don't take away from it as there are ways to work around them. I needed a board that I could trust that would "just work" and it did just that.
Pros: Simple to use. Accurate most of the time (but will always get you in the correct general area when it's wrong), came with a car charger and USB cable for connection to the PC. Bright screen that is easy to read.
Cons: no updates in a VERY long time. Found inaccuracies in it when driving through developments and shopping centers and the P3 seemed to think I was off road. Have checked the nextar site since I got it for updates. I don't think any are ever coming. The P3 isn't even listed on the main search list anymore. Very frustrating knowing that the maps are 2 years out of date. If it can't even find locations in my local area, it doesn't leave me all that confident that it will get me to destinations out of state.
Overall Review: I received this as a Christmas present from my parents, a newegg purchase, and for the most part, I am very happy with this unit. If maps aren't updated at all for this, my next one won't be a Nextar. There is no reason to not update the maps on something that relies on them to be useful.
Pros: Moves a decent amount of air in my case but the fan is much louder than the fan it replaced. If I had a closed design case, it would be a non-issue but mine is an open design and the sound carries.
Cons: A little louder than I expected, but still did the job.
Pros: Pretty much silent. Exactly what I needed as my case is an open design and noise escapes pretty easily. My old one did a good job of cooling, but sounded like a vacuum cleaner.
The 140mm fan works perfectly and silently.
Cons: none for the price. If I HAD to nitpick, the modular design is nice, but there is an extra cable coming from the PSU that can't be removed and needed to be tucked away.
Pros: Because of the open design of my case, any noise from fans is really noticeable. The 120mm fan that came with the case wasn't too bad, but I actually had to check to see if this one was spinning. Very happy with it.
Cons: not a con for me, but please be aware that this is a very deep fan (38 as opposed to the standard 25). It may be too deep for some cases or really big processor heatsink/fan combos.
Pros: Good, solid case. Big enough for my oversized video card
Cons: Dust magnet. Open design is a blessing and a curse. Front grill is in constant need of cleaning. Dust filters are easy to remove though
Pros: Small, tight board with decent onboard sound and video. This was a build for my mom who does word processing, light picture editing and web surfing. Easy install, enough headers for her USB devices.
Cons: none really for the cost. The only thing that could have been different is an DVI connector instead of a VGA one, but I knew that when I bought it.
Pros: I've been a fan of the TR series since I first played the original on a 133mhz processor. This game, much like anniversary and legend, is more true to the original. Gorgeous graphics, more puzzle solving and beautiful FMV. Nice additions to the controls, responsive and while the camera can be tricky at times, anyone who has played any of the other games should know how to handle it.
Cons: none so far. It screams on my rig at high detail settings.
Overall Review: I was dying for another Tomb Raider after I finished Anniversary. Underworld didn't disappoint.
Pros: Product does what it says it will. I had to set up the BIOS to get the right timings, but the memory has been flawless. I had so many problems with the last name brand memory that I bought that was supposed to be great. I've had nothing but issues with it. This has been fine and corrected a lot of the issues I was having with my machine. Memory runs cool.
Overall Review: Well worth the money. Will be ordering more.
Pros: Good, small case and budget friendly. This was used to a build for my parents. It's very uncluttered. Installation of the board and components was a snap. I would definitely recommend looking at the instructions first as the front panel needs to be removed to install the drives. I'm not sure if the hidden optical drives are a pro or a con yet. I'll have to wait and see how the parents feel about it after using it for a while.
Cons: Floppy bay panel arrived broken (emailed rosewill tech support and will hopefully get a response soon), case edges were sharp and ended up spilling a little blood for the build. High gloss finish is a fingerprint magnet.
Power supply only comes with two molex connectors, but they are on the same chain. Not good if you don't have your hard drive near your optical drive.
Overall Review: Overall, it's a decent case and if it's for someone who isn't planning to constantly upgrade, it's a good deal.
Pros: The card does everything I need it to. My LCD has a max resolution of 1680x1050 and this card plays all of my games maxed out with everything cranked up and doesn't blink. I had no problems playing most of my games with my 7900GT, but this card ran circles around it. I'm very impressed with the card and the cooler keeps the temps down nicely. Worth every penny. Going back through some of the games that made my old card choke with the 8800GT Akimbo was like playing a brand new game. The visuals and the speed are amazing.
Cons: The tuning software needs to be installed to keep the fan noise under control. I have a very very quiet rig and the fan on the card, which defaults to 100%, sounds like a jet turbine. I understand that asking a fan that small to move that much heat is asking for noise, but turning the fan speed down or moving it to auto really helped. The card stays cool and I don't feel like I'm going deaf.
Only other con is that I wish I had purchased it sooner.
Pros: I'm not big into online gaming so this was a good throwback to the times when fun single player games were more popular. TQ:IT is a lot like two other games that came before it but has enough variation to make it a very very fun game on its own. It doesn't have the random dungeon generator that that other game has, but the maps are big enough and varied enough that it really hasn't made a difference to me. A good purchase for me. It runs really well on my rig even with everything maxed out at 1680x1050
Cons: I'm still at the early stage (level 11) but the repetition of monsters can get annoying. Hopefully this will change the deeper I go into the game.
Pros: Beautiful graphics and the game is coded greatly as it ran well on both my older hardware and my freshly upgraded machine. No slowdown at all, great collision damage and just a blast to play. I've read that there were game crashing issues, but I haven't encountered any yet. Force feedback works great and the instant replay feature is a nice touch.
Cons: If I had to nitpick something, some of the cars feel too similar when driving them and the only other thing I didn't care for was needing to navigate the menus with the keyboard. It's small, but it would have been nice to change menu options or selections from the controller.
Overall Review: Game came free with my new processor but would have been worth the $60 anyway. Great game.
Pros: affordable lightscribe enabled drive, quiet
Cons: Drive started making coasters on both labels and normal burns. Drive would just flash and make grinding noises. I needed to reboot the computer to get the drive to open.
Overall Review: Disappointed because the drive was quiet and fast. Newegg completely rocks. Blazing fast turnaround with a replacement drive.
Pros: Inexpensive upgrade for the great performance it gives. At first I thought the fan was loud but the noise turned out to be the PSU dying.
Pros: Not a single issue with them. As others have said, my ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe saw it at the wrong settings, but it was easy enough to go in and set them correctly.
Cons: not a one. Very happy with this purchase.
Pros: Excellent value for the price. Really gave my system a much needed shot in the arm. Runs cool.
Pros: When it worked, it had enough power to run my new X2 system with no sags or hiccups.
Cons: Died after 2 months. Disappointing because I really liked the PSU.
